Kill the Second Chance
is a Akame ga Kill! Peggy Sue fanfic by FireWolf674.
After Tatsumi loses everyone that he had loved to tragic circumstances, he is given a chance to Set Right What Once Went Wrong by the goddess Zenovia. Now reborn with the powers of the Tyrant within him, Tatsumi will use his newfound abilities to change everyone's fates and tear down the corrupt Empire once and for all.
Currently undergoing a rewrite at 8 chapters (technically 5 due to the author splitting chapters 3 and 4 into multiple parts).

- Adaptational Badass: Tatsumi not only has Tyrant abilities as a half-Danger Beast hybrid, his new teigu, Starblaze, possesses all of Incursio's previous abilities along with Grand Chariot's defense and the ability to control fire.
- Sayo receives the bow Teigu Darken Sky, complementing her existing skills as an archer and granting her the ability to inflict Temporary Blindness on enemies with supercharged darkness arrows that can only be dispelled by daylight.
- Sheele receives Night's Reach as her new teigu and receives Tyrant abilities from Tatsumi, enhancing her hand-to-hand combat skills.
- Spear upgrades her spear to utilize explosive spearheads and takes up Sheele's former teigu Extase at the request of her old friend.
- Wave gets his teigu upgraded into Dragon Whale, adding in hydrokinesis alongside Grand Chariot's toughness.
- Everyone in Tatsumi's harem are granted Tyrant abilities, upgrading their bodies to be stronger and tougher in combat.
- Nearly everyone in Night Raid and the Jaegers will get this treatment through Tatsumi's spirit necklaces the author describes in their notes.
- Adaptational Heroism: Surprisingly enough, Seryu gets this treatment after reading her former mentor Ogre's diary at Tatsumi's request, becoming The Mole for Night Raid among the Jaegers after learning that Ogre never really cared for her.
- Ascended Extra: Spear, who was a mere side-character who got killed off moments after her introduction, is Spared by the Adaptation and joins Night Raid.
- Adaptational Personality Change: This incarnation of Tatsumi is much more self-assured, level-headed, and intelligent as well as a bit trollish thanks to his memories of his previous life making him far wiser than he once was.
- Battle Harem: Very much a given due to all of Tatsumi's lovers being Action Girls in their own right.
- Broken Pedestal: Tatsumi invokes this on Seryu to break her Knight Templar attitude towards justice by asking her to read Ogre's diary. It works.
- Crocodile Tears: Seryu fakes her grief for losing Ogre and others in front of Esdeath and the other Jaegers to keep herself from getting exposed as a double agent for Night Raid.
- Death Faked for You: Sheele's death at the hands of Seryu is falsified to make it easier for Seryu to infiltrate the Jaegers and for Sheele to operate as an assassin.
- Downer Beginning: Both the original and rewrite have a dark beginning, the latter even more so with the Mutual Kill between the Revolutionary Army and Empire.
- Fighting Spirit: Tatsumi's necklaces each contain one of these for him and his allies that enhance their combat skills.
- Akame's raven enhances her agility and grants her the ability to fly.
- Bulat's demon adds in demonic weapons and abilities for him to utilize in combat.
- Mine's hawk can buff Pumpkin's shots to pack a bigger punch and bypass armor.
- Lubbock can call on a spirit spider to kill and consume foes trapped within Cross-Tail's strings as well as warn him of enemies that manage to get past his strings without triggering them.
- Najenda's wolf allows her to summon spirit animals to aid her in combat, with the animals being stronger in daylight.
- Spear's sabretooth tiger grants her Super-Speed and incredible agility in addition to enhancing her attack power.
- Sheele's panda allows her to summon barriers to protect her allies in combat.
- Chelsea's fox expands her disguise options when using Gaea Foundation and grants her Improvisational Ingenuity for situations in which an enemy is approaching.
- Wave's shark enhances his speed and strength while giving him the ability to avoid damage by changing his body into water.
- Kurome's reaper upgrades her undead puppets to be much stronger, tougher, and faster, especially during nighttime.
- Esdeath's snow leopard enhances her already powerful cryokinesis up to eleven, expands her options for ice attacks, and also provide extra energy for her to keep her in the fight for longer periods of time if she uses a trump card.
- Cosmina's rabbit further enhances her Compelling Voice and teigu abilities to the point that people instantly obey her spoken commands as well as protect her allies from her teigu's effects to avoid Friendly Fire.
- Seryu's bear allows her to become a Full-Conversion Cyborg impervious to conventional weaponry and grants her teigu new and deadly attacks for it to utilize.
- Leone's lion enhances her natural strength and senses while also granting her the ability to summon a lion to help her in battle.
- Run's angel enhances his flight capabilities, upgrades his weapons to be sharper and faster, and also grants him the power to respectively summon weapons made out of light and darkness at day and night.
- Sayo's spirit dragon grants her special arrows that can punch through all types of armor, defense Teigus included and inject fast-acting poison capable of immediately killing enemies.
- Suzuka's mummy enhances her innate physiological abilities as a Rakshasa to the point that she's Nigh-Invulnerable.
- Tatsumi's Tyrant turns him into The Juggernaut and enhances the power of his Teigu's weapons.
- Happily Adopted: Ears is saved from Dr. Stylish and adopted by Tatsumi, going by the name of Lilac.
- Harem Genre: The fic's description says it all for Tatsumi. Currently, Tatsumi's harem stands at Akame, Leone, Sayo, Sheele, Spear, Seryu, Mine, Chelsea, Esdeath, Suzuka, and Cosmina.
- Hotter and Sexier: A side effect for everyone in Tatsumi's harem receiving Tyrant abilities is that their physiques are substantially enhanced, giving them more muscular and well-endowed appearances.
- Kill Steal: The only reason why Tatsumi fights Akame in the rewrite is so that he can be the one to kill Aria for the torture she and her family inflicted upon innocent people.
- Official Couple: In addition to Tatsumi's harem, Lubbock and Wave are paired with their respective love interests Najenda and Kurome.
- Porn with Plot: The lemons are rather detailed, but they don't detract from the robust storyline.
- Spared by the Adaptation: Where to begin?!
- Sayo, Ieyasu, and Sheele avoid their canonical deaths, with Sayo joining Night Raid and Ieyasu returning home.
- Spear, Chouri, and by extension Bulat live past their canonical deaths thanks to the Three Beasts getting killed by Night Raid immediately after their introduction.
- Chapter 23 of the original confirmed that Air, Luna, and Fal will survive this time and be adopted by Night Raid to keep Lilac company.
- Training from Hell: Tatsumi subjects himself with this in the rewrite so he can get a better grip on his new powers and be strong enough to save his friends from their previous fates.
- Total Party Wipe: The original has the first Danger Beast wipe out everyone from Night Raid and the Jaegers before Tatsumi was sent back in time. The rewrite takes it in a much darker direction by having the Revolutionary Army and Empire wipe each other out in a final battle so destructive that it renders the sacrifices on both sides meaningless.
