This fanfiction contains examples of:

  • Adaptational Angst Upgrade:
    • Huey, in this version of the Season 3 premiere, has this in spades, where the fact that Violet has more badges than him, as well as her "smack-talk" clearly get to him. Word of God admits that they felt to do this because they felt that the episode didn't do a good job of teaching the difference between harmless razzing and demoralizing razzing.
    • In canon, Louie's reaction to Lena's Disney Death was never shown outside of him offering sympathy to Webby. Here, he is utterly distraught as he had a crush on Lena.
    • Donald and Louie both get this in "Louie's Eleven!":
      • Since Daisy has already appeared in before Season 3 here, Donald's part in the scheme is trying to reunite with Daisy, who has been spending way too much time trying to kiss up to Emma Glamour.
      • Louie tries to prove that his schemes aren't always a danger to his family, something he has a lot more angst over, and he isn't trying to prove it to Della, he's trying to prove it to himself.
  • Adaptational Backstory Change: Due to starting before it was revealed Daisy would have no prior history with Donald in the main canon series until season 3, Daisy and Donald have known each other since they were kids in this version.
    • Due to starting nearly a year before "The First Adventure!", the fanfic gives a different backstory on how Donald and Della met Scrooge and their first adventure with him. How much "The First Adventure!" will be affected (if it is even adapted at all in the fanfic) is currently unclear.
  • Adaptational Early Appearance: In canon Daisy, Goofy, Chip, and Dale's first appearances occurred in season 3 while in this universe, their debuts occur in season 1 though in the case of Chip and Dale, they are confirmed by the author to be different versions from the ones seen in "Double O Duck in You Only Crash Twice!".
    • Downplayed in Violet's case though she ends up debuting in the original episode "Meeting of the Minds" which occurs right before "Friendship Hates Magic!".
    • Due to beginning writing before "The Fight for Castle McDuck!" aired, Matilda ends up making her first appearance earlier here in the season 2 TV movie "Tales of the Duck Twins".
    • Similar to Matilda's example, the show's version of Hades appears earlier in the season 2 TV movie "Save the Queen" (albeit with a different personality).
    • May and June make their debuts in this fanfiction in the second season and become supporting players rather than making their only appearance in the canon series in the series finale (though this is an unusual example as the fic has April and Webby coexisting despite canon later revealing they are the same person).
  • Adaptational Jerkass: The writer makes absolutely sure that Della is mostly in the wrong when Louie is grounded in "Timephoon!" unlike the original, where both sides were supposed to be 50% wrong. Not only does she refuse to accept his sincere apology despite her doing the same thing as him and getting off scot-free family-wise, she also slaps him as hard as she can in an act of "anger, irritation, cruelty, horrible and ruthless parenting and lack of thinking" simply because Louie talked back to her. Everyone is horrified at this act and Gyro even attempts to hide in the time tub. His brothers both feel very bad for him but can't speak out against their mother out of fear of getting on her bad side.
    • Continues into the next episode, where she records even more condescendingly happy lectures than in the TV series, belittlingly calls him "kid", acts as if he isn't even part of the family in her diary and even goes far as depriving him of the friendship bracelet he got from Lena, all his weapons and all form of communication to people outside the manor, neglecting to consider what he'd do if there was a fire or an invasion, the latter of which happens as it did in the show. Even the villains seem at least ''slightly'' sympathetic. Needless to say by now, but it's much easier to side with Louie here than the show.
      • Thankfully this is downplayed after Louie's What the Hell, Hero? speech to her at the end of "GlomTales!" and she does go back to her canon self in the following episodes.
  • Adaptational Nice Guy: Goldie O'Gilt. In the original, she did not take part in the battle with the inhabitants of the Moon. According to the director, she was engaged in theft. In this story, she broke into Scrooge's mansion at the beginning of "Moonvasion" to steal again, but got caught in the net. Upon learning of the invasion, she immediately joined Scrooge's team in battle. Also after the battle, she returned to Louie the golden idol she had stolen in "Happy birthday, Doofus Drake". In the original, the fate of the idol after the abduction is unknown.
  • Adaptational Villainy: In his appearance in the canon version of "New Gods on the Block!", Hades is shown to be a decent guy. Due to the fic starting before that episode aired, this version of Hades is more in line with the villainous depiction seen in the 1997 Disney film in "Save the Queen". Time will tell how much this will impact this series' version of "New Gods on the Block!".
  • Adaptation Expansion: Several episodes that were normally one parters in the show of been expanded into multiple parts, due to the stakes being a bit more higher.
  • Ascended Extra: Quite a few characters get more focus compared to canon:
    • While Daisy took until season 3 to appear and has been confirmed to only be a recurring character that season, this version not only debuts Daisy earlier with more appearances but also promotes her to main cast starting with "Double Triplets" in season 2.
    • Similar to Daisy, Goofy also debuts earlier in this version and ends up becoming a supporting character rather than a so far one-time appearence in season 3.
    • Lena and Violet go from supporting characters in canon to becoming part of the main cast from mid-season 2 onward.
    • Due to the author using Legend of the Three Caballeros in the fic, Panchito and Jose make a couple more appearances.
    • Darkwing Duck is given more prominence somewhat as the TV version (Jim Starling) appears in more episodes with the kids (as well as Donald and Della) being bigger fans of it than canon.
    • While they were already part of the main cast in canon, even Donald and Della get even more focus to the point where they are even listed above Scrooge in the end credits when listing the main cast.
    • Steelbeak and Black Heron's only Season 2 roles were cameos in the finale; here, Steelbeak attacks Huey and Violet during their date, and Heron attacks Dewey and Webby likewise.
  • Benevolent Genie: Gene demonstrates this right up to the end, when he volunteers to be used to make a wish to change the DNA of Webby and her sisters/fellow clones so that they aren't biologically related to Scrooge while still being a family, allowing Webby and Dewey's relationship to continue.
  • Canon Welding: This fic does it for merging the continuities of the series, Legend of the Three Caballeros and Kingdom Hearts
  • Chromatic Arrangement: Like in canon, Huey, Dewey, and Louie are this. Violet, Webby, and Lena are this as well.
  • Darker and Edgier: Characters are more prone to bruises and Clothing Damage than canon.
    • It is also even more dramatic than the canon series with episodes like "The Last Crash of the Sunchaser!" and any focusing on Della and Louie's troubled relationship in late season 2.
    • As a Whole-Plot Reference to Avengers: Infinity War, many characters drop like flies. Huey, Louie, Lena, Violet, June, Gladstone, Downy, Terra & Lea are all killed by Lunaris, while many others are killed by the Snap. Naturally, they all come Back from the Dead.
  • Family of Choice: This aspect of their dynamic features heavily as the story unfolds, such as Violet and Lena stating that they consider the other two triplets their brothers even as they're dating the third triplet (Violet/Huey and Lena/Louie respectively). When Webby learns that she's technically Scrooge's daughter, Scrooge makes it clear that he has no problem with her using a wish from Gene the Genie to change her DNA so that she can continue her existing romantic relationship with Dewey, musing that he has always seen her as a daughter even before learning that she was a biological relative and that won't change even if she isn't related to him.
  • The Friends Who Never Hang: This fic attempts to rectify this from the series with a few examples:
    • Donald gets a decent amount of interaction with Launchpad in "Jaw$!".
    • Donald and Webby get in their own adventure in "Donald the Royal Court Magician".
    • Lena gets more fleshed out interactions with the triplets especially Louie.
    • Donald and Della are given more interaction with Lena and Violet too.
  • Happily Married: Mickey and Minnie are this.
  • Honorary Uncle / Honorary Aunt: In addition to Scrooge giving permission to Webby to call him Uncle Scrooge same way as canon, he gives Daisy, Lena, and Violet permission to call him as such.
    • Donald gives Webby permission to call him Uncle Donald starting with "Donald the Royal Court Magician" and does the same with Lena and Violet.
    • Della and Daisy give permission for Webby, Lena, and Violet to call them Aunt Della and Aunt Daisy in season 2 as well.
  • I Have No Son!: Inverted version of this trope, in this version of "GlomTales!" where Louie ends up disowning Della after her actions in punishing him in the episode though he does reconcile with her in the original episode "Della and Louie".
  • Kissing Cousins: After the Duck family learn of Webby's origin as Scrooge's genetically engineered clone/daughter, she and Dewey initially plan to break up as they reason they can't be together since they're related. However, since all parties support them as a couple, Gene volunteers to be used to make a wish to change the DNA of Webby and the other clones so they're still sisters but no longer related to Scrooge.
  • Legion of Doom: Like in the original episode, Glomgold makes one of almost every one of Scrooge's Rogues Gallery, except in this version Merlock is also brought into the fold as the Donald of the group.
  • Likes Older Women: Lena and Louie, assuming that she's at least physically older.
  • Official Couple: Dewey and Webby become this in "Last Christmas!" and Louie and Lena become this in "Friendship Hates Magic!". Huey and Violet eventually became this at some point during late season 2 before Della's return.
  • Older Than They Look: In this universe, Donald, Della, Gladstone, Fethry, Daisy, Goofy, Mickey, and Minnie, are apparently in their 80s despite looking like they're in their 30s as in this version, toons have extended lifespans and retain their youthfulness until a certain point.
  • Parting-Words Regret: Donald and Della's argument over the latter's decision to go into outer space ended really badly and happened to be the final time (until Della returned in season 2) they spoke to each other before Della took the Spear of Selene the next day.
  • Pragmatic Villainy: Lena convinces Magica not to punish her for being close to Webby and Louie by pointing out that her aunt wanted her to be close to the Duck family.
  • Satellite Character: April, May, and June are all but described as this to Huey, Dewey, and Louie, especially with their introductions with Webby and Lena playing out almost word for word.
    • May attempts to invert this, by claiming that Dewey and his brothers are male versions of her and her sisters.
  • Ship Tease: Dewey/Webby, Louie/Lena, Huey/Violet, and Donald/Daisy get this.
  • Shipper on Deck:
    • When Della returns to Earth and is told of how Webby, Lena and Violet are dating Dewey, Louie and Huey respectively, she is so enthusiastic about her boys having girlfriends that she immediately starts talking about what their hypothetical children will be like, even though none of them are old enough for that to be factor for some time.
    • So many characters are in favour of Dewey/Webby in particular that even after the reveal that Webby is basically Scrooge's daughter, Scrooge and Beakley in particular make it clear that they don't want the relationship to end as they see that Dewey and Webby genuinely love each other, encouraging Gene to change Webby's DNA to allow the relationship to continue.
  • Sweet and Sour Grapes: In this story, the heroes were able to succeed where they failed in the canon. Louie visited the Big Rock Candy Mountain (although it could have happened in the original, only later and behind the scenes), Huey became the Senior Woodchuck, Donald got on Emma Glamour's IT list.
  • Villain Has a Point: In "GlomTales!", Merlock's conversation with Louie involves Louie protesting that Della does love him. Merlock proceeds to list all off Della's extreme measures of grounding and punishing Louie, who can only respond that it looks like she truly doesn't.
  • Villain Team-Up: Original episode "The Duck Couple" has Shellgoose and Felldrake team up with Merlock to kidnap Donald and Daisy's nephews and nieces to lure them into a trap.
  • What the Hell, Hero?: Too many to list, but essentially, moments that weren't called out in canon are here.
