Fallen Provides Examples Of:

    In General
  • Actionized Adaptation: The stories are filled with gunfights, swordfights, fistfights, car chases, and explosions to match to befit its increase on action. In particular, the first story has a Big Badass Battle Sequence between the Moonlanders and the escaped citizens of Duckburg and a simultaneous Chase Fight between Drake Mallard and Jim Starling in the climax. And it takes up to three chapters.
  • Adaptation Amalgamation: The Fallen series serves as this towards the episodes Glomtales!, Moonvasion!, and the entirety of the third season.
  • Bloodier and Gorier: Fallen is this to the 2017 reboot and the 1987 original series.

    Fallen

  • Evil Mentor: Jim Starling serves as this towards Louie. However, although he has his own way of showing it, he does come to genuinely care for him and Gosalyn as a son and daughter to him.
  • Faceā€“Heel Turn: The very premise of the first story. After the events of Timephoon! leave him further estranged from his mother and (to a lesser extent) his family, Louie works with a very much alive Jim Starling and becomes a villain. Interestingly, he doesn't completely focus on his wrath on his family, but rather his desire to become someone special and noteworthy.
  • My God, What Have I Done?:
    • Beaks' "The Reason You Suck" Speech towards Louie in the third chapter seems to dispirit him and further his descent into villainy.
    • In the thirteenth chapter, Scrooge realizes that Louie has joined Starling, thus indirectly becoming a villain, because of the events of Timephoon!.
    • In the sixteenth chapter, Della inadvertently stabs Louie when fighting him during the climax, unaware that beneath the mask was her youngest son. When she does found out, she is utterly horrified.
  • Rescue Romance: A downplayed and semi-dark example. At the end of the sixth chapter, Gosalyn is saved by Louie from a group of hired henchmen employed by Taurus Bulba; she finds him rather cute, much to her own confusion. This is further elaborated at the beginning of the seventh chapter told from Louie's point-of-view as he goes to rescue Gosalyn; he apparently could tell she thought he was cute, but decided against telling her directly.
