Mr. X was a Canadian effects studio first established in 2001 by Dennis Berardi, Chris Wallace and Sylvain Taillon (Three established effects artists). The company, whose work can primarily be seen in mid-to-low-budget horror and action films, has locations in both Montreal and Toronto.
In 2022, the studio would be folded into MPC as part of a corporate streamlining of Technicolor's VFX and animation departments. Their final project would be Guillermo del Toro's Pinocchio, for which they would be billed under the MPC name by the time of the film's release.
Do not confuse with the villain of the same name from Streets of Rage, Dr. Wily's disguise in Mega Man 6, The Tyrant from Resident Evil 2note or the Mister X series by Toronto-based Vortex Comics. See also Hybride Technologies, another Canadian-based effects studio and Moving Picture Company and The Mill, sister companies to Mr. X through Technicolor.
