All spoilers will be unmarked ahead. You Have Been Warned

from ARGONAVIS started off as a Spear Counterpart in a separate continuity from BanG Dream!, and while the franchises would eventually become completely separate entities, the ARGONAVIS franchise still has its roots as a part of the BanG Dream! franchise. Needless to say, more than a few characters from both franchises contrast with one another.

    Ren Nanahoshi and Kasumi Toyama
Both are the protagonists of their respective series who were enlightened by specific experiences from their childhood (for Ren, it was a live show, for Kasumi, it was the "Star Beat" she heard while looking at stars) and are searching for something in the present day that helps them relive the experience. They also serve as Morality Pets to rival vocalists (Yukina and Nayuta) who are generally more cold and uncompromising. However, their personalities differ like night and day: Kasumi is a loud Genki Girl who formed Poppin'Party herself despite the other members initially being strongly against joining, while Ren is a quiet Shrinking Violet who is initially hesitant to join Argonavis due to his previous experience with joining a choir club in middle school.
    Ren Nanahoshi and Yukina Minato
Both are normally quiet (albeit in different ways; Ren is a Shrinking Violet while Yukina is an Ice Queen) but are a lot more passionate when the topic is music and have very strong resolves when it comes to their bands, and both are also very good at singing while being rather poor in other things, such as cooking and technology. They are also approached with shady deals that offer them fame at the expense of their bandmates: Yukina receives an offer that would guarantee her alone a spot at Future World Fes, while Ren is scouted by Mashu, who plans on creating an entirely new band with Ren as the vocalist. They handle the situations differently: Yukina almost considers accepting the deal and is lambasted by most of her bandmates as a result, which leads to Roselia temporarily falling apart, while Ren doesn't hesitate to reject Mashu's offer, firmly stating that he belongs to Argonavis and no one else. Additionally, Yukina is very determined to reach the top and win Future World Fes, whereas Ren is very hesitant to participate in the Live Royal Fes since he doesn't want to compete with others and step on their dreams.
    Yuto Goryo and Ran Mitake
Both are determined to prove themselves to family members who disapprove of them playing in a band since they're expected to follow a different path (Ran is expected to pursue flower arranging, Yuto comes from a line of well-known doctors and politicians). That being said, their respective families treat them differently: while Ran's father is stern, he genuinely cares for his daughter and is a good parent to her, and when Ran convinces him that she's serious about playing music, he accepts her decision and even shows up to her concerts (much to her chagrin). Yuto's family (particularly one of his older brothers) is emotionally abusive, constantly looking down on and belittling him for straying from the path he was expected to follow and seeing him as the inferior member of the family, and when Yuto tries to convince his brother that he's serious about band activities, his brother still looks down on him and ultimately refuses to consider him a part of the Goryo family. Personality-wise, Ran is quiet and somewhat aloof, but has a big sense of personal pride, whereas Yuto is loud and Hot-Blooded, but secretly has self-esteem issues.
    Wataru Matoba and Rimi Ushigome
While the two of them learned to play bass from their older siblings in bands and love sweets (though Wataru's love of sweets is more broad whereas Rimi is obsessed with chocolate cornets), Rimi adores her older sister and frequently gushes over her while Wataru has his older brother on the top of his dislike column and initially refrains from telling his bandmates that they’re related. Rimi has trouble speaking up and tends to go along with whatever Kasumi wants, Wataru tends to speak his mind and doesn’t hesitate to point out any flaws in Yuto’s ideas.
    Banri Shiroishi and Saaya Yamabuki
Both are heavily family-oriented due to them running family businesses, and they are the drummers of their respective series’ main bands. However, the Yamabuki Bakery is very successful whereas the Shiroishi dairy farm is suffering from debt. Saaya quit her original band and is initially against joining Poppin’Party because she was prioritizing her family, while Banri joins Argonavis specifically to earn money in order to support his family.
     GYROAXIA and Afterglow
Both bands focus on Hard Rock and give off rebellious vibes. However, Afterglow consists of tightly-knit Childhood Friends, while GYROAXIA is more dysfunctional due to Nayuta's dictatorial personality, Reon’s dislike towards Nayuta, and Miyuki’s dislike towards Kenta. Afterglow's lyrics primarily focus on themes of friendship, GYROAXIA's lyrics are much more aggressive and focus on reaching the top along with brooding themes like parental abandonment, depression, and toxicity.
    Nayuta Asahi and Ran Mitake
Both are the aloof (but prideful and strong-willed) vocalists of Hard Rock bands with goals of proving themselves to their fathers (though Nayuta is much more focused on getting revenge). They also have a tendency to keep to themselves and brush off help from their bandmates. However, Ran genuinely cares about her Childhood Friends, treasures the friendship they have, and treats them kindly and with respect, whereas Nayuta doesn't show any interest in his bandmates whatsoever, is willing to dispose of them if they don't live up to his high expectations, and speaks to them in a rude, abrasive tone.
    Nayuta Asahi and Yukina Minato
They start out similarly enough: cold, uncompromising, and willing to cut off bandmates if they don't live up to their high standards, in addition to having an affinity for cats. But unlike Yukina who initially formed Roselia out of love for and in a bid to get her musician father to perform again, Nayuta hates his father, also a musician, and formed Gyroaxia to get back at him for revenge. There's also a stark difference between how they treat their bandmates, at least initially. While Yukina was at first very cold towards her bandmates during Roselia's earlier days, she at least treated them professionally, complimented them when needed, and was at least caring, in her own way, towards one of them, her childhood friend Lisa, when she decided to join Roselia. Nayuta outright dislikes and doesn't care for his own bandmates.
    Kenta Satozuka and Tomoe Udagawa
Both serve as responsible and caring elder siblings, and they have fairly similar appearances in that they have red hair and teal eyes. However, Tomoe and Ako are very close, with Tomoe doting on Ako and Ako greatly idolizing Tomoe in return to the point where she frequently gushes about her. Kenta and Wataru have grown distanced due to their parents being divorced, and while Kenta unconditionally loves his brother, Wataru has an inferiority complex regarding Kenta and initially refrains from telling his bandmates that they’re related. Personality-wise, Tomoe is extroverted, Hot-Blooded, and prone to rushing into things headfirst, while Kenta is more coolheaded and rational. Tomoe is very buddy-buddy with her bandmates, Kenta is cold and aloof towards his.
    Jun Suzaki and Rinko Shirokane
Both are Shrinking Violets who enjoy video games, but while Rinko remains polite at all times and exudes airs of elegance onstage, Jun’s ZACK persona is extremely vulgar and Ax-Crazy. Rinko, in spite of her shy personality, gradually ends up desiring to become more confident, whereas Jun vehemently refuses to get an actual job (to the point where it’s a subject he hates talking about).
    Yamato Tsubaki and Hina Hikawa
Both are guitarists with poor tact, though Hina is The Ace who instantly learned how to play guitar with no prior experience, whereas Yamato is The Ditz with rusty guitar skills. Hina is an energetic and expressive Genki Girl, Yamato is one of the more reserved members of Fujin RIZING and doesn't emote much.
    Kohei Hayasaka and Himari Uehara
Both serve as the leaders to bands primarily consisting of Childhood Friends. However, Himari's ditzy nature often leads to her being teased or not taken seriously by her bandmates, whereas Kohei's bandmates see him as a reliable brother figure.
    Aoi Wakakusa and Misaki Okusawa
Both serve as Straight Men to the rowdier members of their bands, but Misaki is generally coolheaded and laidback whereas Aoi is a Tsundere who's Prone to Tears. Misaki is a Tomboy with a Girly Streak, Aoi is a feminine boy with a few masculine qualities (such as his love for spicy food and usage of the "ore" pronoun).
    εpsilonΦ and RAISE A SUILEN
Both bands specialize in electronic music with Darker and Edgier lyrics. However, while RAS consists of Nice Girls and a jerk who mellowed down later on, εpsilonΦ's bandmates are dysfunctional at best.
    Shu Ujigawa and Kokoro Tsurumaki
Both come from powerful, rich families and have childish demeanors. However, Kokoro is an All-Loving Heroine who loves to see and make people smile, while Shu is a Sadist who enjoys making and watching people suffer. Kokoro has an inconsiderate streak that stems from her being Innocently Insensitive, while Shu hurts people on purpose. Additionally, both of them know how to get their bandmates’ talent shine through their emotions (Kokoro through their positive feelings and Shu through their negative ones, like Haruka’s and Kanata’s extremely dysfunctional relationship) and both are considered naturally gifted in lyrics and music.
    Shu Ujigawa and Chiyu Tamade
Like Shu, Chiyu is a Bratty Half-Pint who comes from a rich family and isn’t unwilling to play dirty to get her way, such as when she attempts to steal Tae from Poppin'Party. However, Chiyu is competitive and willing to do whatever it takes to get RAISE A SUILEN to reach the top, actively performing at every opportunity, whereas Shu isn't particularly interested in winning the Live Royal Fes, only entered so he could find some entertainment, and doesn't bother participating in the qualifiers. Their Freudian Excuse of their respective jerkassery are also contrasted with each other due to the actions of their respective abusive parents, as CHU2's mother forces her to play numerous instruments against her will to the point of injured herself while Shu was a victim of being neglected by his father.
    Haruka Nijo and Sayo Hikawa
Both are older twins who resent their younger twins due to feelings of being overshadowed and play the part of a guitarist in their respective bands. Both are also serious when it comes to music and have similar levels of determination, despite Haruka's seemingly apathetic nature. However, despite Sayo's initial dislike towards Hina, she does show that she cares about her even before they patch things up, such as when she tells Hina not to quit playing the guitar, and an event story before her Character Development has her reflect on how they've fallen apart over the years. On the other hand, Haruka hates Kanata with a passion, tries to avoid him as much as possible, and has openly expressed the desire to kill him. Additionally, Sayo is well-mannered, polite, and refers to others with the "-san" honorific, whereas Haruka can be rude and abrasive at times to the point where he doesn't bother referring to people by their names.
    Kanata Nijo and Hina Hikawa
Both are the popular and outgoing younger sibling, both of their older siblings are guitar players who resent them, and they both love their older siblings despite the rift between them. However, the Hikawa twins belong to different bands while the Nijo brothers are in the same band. Hina and Sayo both play guitar, while Kanata plays the bass unlike his brother. Finally while Hina unintentionally feeds Sayo's inferiority complex when trying to get close to her, Kanata intentionally hurts and outright emotionally abuses Haruka as a sign of extremely distorted love.
    Reiji Karasuma and Reona Nyubara
Both serve as sidekicks to Bratty Half-Pints (Shu and CHU2 respectively) and are more or less bound to them. However, PAREO adores and dotes on CHU2 as repayment for allowing her to express herself and acts as her sidekick out of her own free will, while Reiji secretly loathes Shu and is stuck as his servant because the Karasuma family has been serving the Ujigawa conglomerate for a long time.
