  • Arch-Enemy: To Cyclops, due to attempting to use Jean Grey in his experiments in the past.
  • Badass Bookworm: An evil version, but he is probably the world's foremost expert on mutant genetics.
  • Badass Cape: He rocks this as apart of his costume.
  • Evil Sounds Deep: A tradition for anyone played by Clancy Brown, Sinister here has a deep menacing voice.
  • Faux Affably Evil: He acts all suave and gentleman-like, but really is nothing more than a cold, calculating Sociopath with a Supremacy-Complex.
  • For Science!: His usual motive.
  • Karma Houdini: Thanks to the show's cancelation, he doesn't receive any punishment for all the torment he put Cyclops, Angel, and Jean through. Oh, and the last time we see him, he gets to be Co-Dragons with Cyclops to Apocalypse in a new Bad Future.
  • Mad Scientist: He emphasizes the science over the madness at least, though being more competent doesn't necessarily make him any less evil.
  • Manipulative Bastard: As per usual, he is this.
  • The Man Behind the Man: He is the man behind the Marauders.
