Main Characters
Tyria
Tyria Keziah Kavanagh
The first of the two protagonists of Tyria and Yaya, who was introduced in the first episode of the series. She generally accompanies her cousin Yaya.Represented with Figma Saber Lily.
- Action Girl: Her armored dress certainly isn't just for show.
- Battle Ballgown: A white one.
- Beware the Nice Ones: Has her moments.
- In Episode Four, she beheads the Otherking for jumpscaring her.
- Blade Below the Shoulder: In Episodes Three and Four, she produces a sword from her armor.
- Blue Oni: To Yaya's red. Even though her in-universe alignment is Chaotic Good.
- Hair of Gold, Heart of Gold: Fair-haired and friendly.
- Informed Attribute: According to the first teaser for the series, Tyria weighs 403 lbs.
- Episode Three implies that the extra weight is due to nanites hidden in her clothes or armor, a la Iron Man in Avengers: Infinity War.
- Morality Pet: For Yaya.
- The Voiceless
- Wrench Wench: Implied.
Yaya
Alayaya Kavanagh
The second of the two protagonists of Tyria and Yaya. Her first appearance was in the video "Armor", two years before the first episode of Tyria and Yaya was published. She started off as a Silent Snarker Recurring Extra, before hijacking the YouTube channel and ascending to main character status, gradually replacing her predecessors Wolfhead and Icefire. For a while, she was characterized as an Anti-Hero, bordering on Villain Protagonist at times. By Tyria and Yaya, however, she has mellowed out somewhat, most likely thanks to Tyria's presence.
Represented with Figma Rin Tohsaka 2.0.
- Action Girl: Like Tyria, she isn't afraid of fighting.
- Author Avatar
- Brainy Brunette: Dark-haired and intelligent (but goofy too).
- Characterization Marches On: Yaya's characterization in videos before Tyria and Yaya frequently bounced between harmless Cloudcuckoolander and powerful malevolent force. Tyria and Yaya rectifies the inconsistency by characterizing Yaya as chaotic and unfettered but not outright evil.
- Cloudcuckoolander: She's a bit weird.
- Crouching Moron, Hidden Badass: She's the major driving force of Tyria and Yaya's antics. She is also among the most powerful individuals in the Tyria and Yaya universe.
- Before Tyria and Yaya, she was the major Big Bad of the YayaFingerButters channel, in the vein of Cecilia of Moonshine Animations.
- Hyperspace Arsenal / Spontaneous Weapon Creation: Yaya draws a dagger from thin air in Episode Four. This is an ability she inherited from her mother, Apephet.
- Informed Attribute: Apparently, her in-universe alignment is Chaotic Evil. This is a case of Characterization Marches On — prior to Tyria and Yaya Yaya's character was more inconsistent (chaotic) and at times malevolent (evil).
- In-Series Nickname: "The Worker".
- It Amused Me: This seems to be her motivation for a lot of the stuff she does.
- Plot Device: So far the events of every episode occur as a result of her actions, whether directly or indirectly.
- She owns a literal Plot Device; Episode One occurs because she left it out in the middle of nowhere for Tyria to find.
- In Episode Two, she gets the Infinity Gauntlet and decides to have fun with it.
- In Episode Three, she initiates the Hat-Off.
- Episode Four has her activate the Plot Device, which transports Tyria and Yaya into the Otherworld.
- Reality Warper: With the Infinity Gauntlet.
- Red Oni: To Tyria's blue.
- Reformed, but Not Tamed: Though her antics are't quite as destructive or violent as they were prior to Tyria and Yaya, they aren't entirely harmless either.
- The Unfettered
- The Voiceless
- With Great Power: Yaya learns this at the end of Episode Two.
- Wrench Wench: Just like her cousin.
Atlas
Atlas Telamon
The main antagonist of Tyria and Yaya Episode Six.Represented with Figma Gilgamesh.
- Arc Villain: He is set up to be this for Volume One.
- Bling of War: Wears golden armor.
- Early-Bird Cameo: He first appears in the Stinger of Episode Three.
- Meaningful Name: "Atlas" means "hard" or "enduring". A "telamon" is a male figure used as a pillar...and is also known as an "atlas".
- "Atlas" is also the name of a Titan.
Other Characters
The Otherking
The Otherking
The ruler of the Otherworld.Represented with a bootleg Revoltech Carnage.
- Bait-and-Switch Boss: Episode Four initially sets the Otherking up as an Arc Villain, but right before the episode’s climactic battle he is unceremoniously killed off by Apephet.
- Jumpscare: Twice.
- Losing Your Head: He gets beheaded. Twice.
- Major Injury Underreaction: He seems more annoyed that Tyria interrupted his jumpscare than the fact that she cut his head off.
- Punch-Clock Villain: His antagonism toward Tyria and Yaya is entirely because they trespass into his kingdom. He tries to scare them away with jumpscares and reality warping, before resorting to violence.
- Reality Warper
- Royals Who Actually Do Something: The king of the Otherworld and the first to confront Tyria and Yaya intruding on it.
- Staying Alive: Tyria beheads him for jumpscaring her, but he quickly reappears unharmed.
- While it's not outright shown, he most likely also survived Apephet's attack, for the same reason as above.
Statue Girl
Statue Girl
A girl who pretends to be a statue for some reason.Represented with a bootleg Figma Jeanne D'Arc.
- Losing Your Head: This tends to happen to her.
- Nobody Here but Us Statues: The audio from when Yaya cut her head off in Episode Three indicates that this is the case.
- No Name Given
The Oracle
The Oracle
An elf with a unique gift of foresight.Represented with Figma Zelda.
- Demonic Possession: Courtesy of Apephet.
- No Name Given
- Seers: She is called "The Oracle" for a reason.

- Early-Bird Cameo: Makes an appearance as an antagonist in Volume One Episode Four. She will not be returning for the rest of the volume.
- Eldritch Abomination
- Evil Matriarch: She is Yaya's mother.

- Gender Flip
- God of Evil
- Greater-Scope Villain: She will have more "plot relevance" after Volume One.
- Hyperspace Arsenal / Spontaneous Weapon Creation: During the Episode Four battle, after Tyria manages to disarm her, she pulls a second, shorter blade seemingly out of thin air.
- Knight of Cerebus: As soon as she shows up in Episode Four, all humor goes out the window. The episode even ends on an uneasy note.
- Non-Standard Character Design: She is the only character in the series with permanent digitally-altered features, in the form of her red snake eyes.
- She is also the first character to be represented with a custom figure (shown here).
- Public Domain Character: From Egyptian Mythology.
- Red Baron: "The Red Serpent".
- Red Eyes, Take Warning: Combined with Hellish Pupils.
- Strong Family Resemblance: As shown in this Patreon post, Apephet's true form bears a striking resemblance to her daughter, Yaya.
- Time Stands Still: Implied to be one of her powers.
