Space Ironmen Kyodain

    In General 
A pair of robots built by Dr. Hayama to protect his youngest son Kenji. Each contains the memories of his two older sons, Jouji and Ryuji.
  • Bash Brothers: Almost always fight back-to-back. As a bonus they are brothers.
  • Brain Uploading: Each has the mind of one of the older Hayama brothers copied into them.
  • Cool Big Bro: When your big bros are a pair of badass robots, you can definitely say they're cool.
  • Expy: As Kyodain was partially made to be a "post-Kamen Rider" series, the Kyodain share a number of similarities with Kamen Rider heroes in terms of design and character, being that they were created from the same technology used by the Dadaroids.
  • Replacement Goldfish: Built by Dr. Hayama to take the place of his older sons, at least for Kenji as the real Jouji and Ryuji are still alive.
  • Sibling Team: Two robot brothers who fight side-by-side.

The youngest of the three Hayama brothers, who lost his father and two older brothers after they were kidnapped by the Dada Robot Army.
  • Supporting Protagonist: The Kyodain are the main heroes, but Kenji is the focal character we see the series through.
  • Tagalong Kid: Often tags along with the Kyodain in their battles, even though he's only a child.

  • Flying Saucer: The saucer top of his body is capable of detaching and flying around.
  • Robot Buddy: The Kyodain's friendly robot ally.
  • Verbal Tic: Has a habit of adding "-besu" to the end of his sentences.

  • The Good Captain: A captain in the Earth Defense Force who regularly assists the Kyodain in their battles.
    Dr. Kaido

A scientist who was a colleague of Dr. Hayama before his abduction. May hold the key to defeating the Dadaroids.
  • Actor Allusion: When he returns he's first seen wearing a red and black cape a la Dr. Shinigami, the role Hideyo Amamoto rose to fame for playing.

  • Greater-Scope Paragon: Sent the Kyodains to Earth to protect it, but he himself is trapped on Planet Dada.

The real Jouji and Ryuji, who copied their minds into the Kyodain.
  • Not Quite Dead: They're assumed to be dead in the first episode, but it's revealed in the penultimate episode that they're alive. They reunite with Kenji in the finale.

Dada Robot Army Corps

An army of alien robots out to conquer the Earth.
  • A.I. Is a Crapshoot: It's revealed the reason they want to invade Earth is because they were ordered to find a planet for the Dada people to migrate to from their polluted homeworld. By the time they found a suitable planet however, the Dada people were all long dead and with no one to overrule them, they interpreted their migration directive as orders to invade and began their conquest of Earth.
  • Pyrrhic Victory: If they ever succeed in conquering Earth, it would be this as the original purpose for their "invasion" was to find a suitable planet for the Dada people, who are all long dead by the time the story starts.
  • Robot Republic: They're all that's left of any form of government on Planet Dada as its original inhabitants are all long dead.
  • Robot Soldier: As they're a robot military, all robots serving in it are naturally this.
  • Sigil Spam: They seem to love plastering their logo everywhere.
    Dark General Gaburin

The ruler of Planet Dada and supreme commander of the Dada Robot Army Corps.
  • Big Bad: The one directing the Dada Robot Army's invasion of Earth.
  • Dark Is Evil: He's actually colored green, but his name is Dark General Gaburin and whenever he appears it's accompanied by a flurry of dark clouds.
  • Pokémon Speak: Only speaks by uttering "Gaburin!" Dadaroids can understand what he's saying just fine, everyone else can't.
  • You Have Failed Me: When the Death Five fail to defeat the Kyodains one too many times, Gaburin scraps all of them and uses their parts to create a stronger warrior, Black Knight.

Gaburin's second-in-command and the conveyor of his will.
  • Bling of War: Tosses off her gold cape to reveal a suit of gold-plated body armor whenever she heads into battle.
  • Dark Action Girl: She's a Fembot, but she's also a skilled fighter.
  • God Save Us from the Queen!: She's a very merciless and unforgiving ruler.
  • Gold-Colored Superiority: Gold-colored and the second highest-ranked person on Planet Dada, as well as field commander of the Dada invasion.
  • The Heavy: Once she appears she takes command of the Dada Robot Army Corps' operations on Gaburin's behalf and becomes the Kyodains' most preeminent foe.
  • Losing Your Head: Can detach her head to attack separately from her body.
  • Mouth of Sauron: Is in charge of dispensing Gaburin's orders.
    Death Five-Member Squad

  • Back from the Dead: Since their robots, even though the Kyodains defeat them several times they can always be rebuilt.
  • Quirky Miniboss Squad: Five elite Dadaroids with distinct appearances and skillsets.
    Black Knight

A new warrior built from the pieces of the scrapped Death Five.
  • Black Knight: What else would you expect from a black-armored warrior named "Black Knight".
  • The Brute: Is the powerhouse of the Dada side and sent in whenever someone is needed to thrash the Kyodains.
  • Cool Sword: The first weapon he wields is the cutlass-like "Moonlight Sword".
  • Evil Counterpart: His main purpose is to destroy the Kyodain.

  • Elite Mooks: Stronger variants with bat-like designs guard Gaburin Queen.
