Vega's Party

     Vega de Baol
Baron Vega de Baol is the Support Hero and son of diplomats Barak de Baol and Deborah de Baol. He is also the estranged arranged fiancé of Princess Flare, who was separated by their growing differences and an assassination plot, after which he formed his own party to do heroing his own way.
  • Above the Influence: Despite Flare's head maid, Mira, attempts to seduce him and his admitted preference for her type, he refuses her advances, using a decoy body on his bed to catch her off guard, stating his intention to remain faithful to Princess Flare and especially Sandara.
  • Anti-Hero: He is much more noble than Keyaru was in Redo, but he is not above scamming and defrauding those who deserve it and, when pushed, will resort to violence to stop them.
  • Berserk Button: While he prefers to show mercy when he can, he has little sympathy to those who try to harm his friends and loved ones, especially rapists.
  • Bequeathed Power: The Support class' Secret Art, Relay, which combines the level and stats of a fallen party member with his own when he picks up their weapon, which he first uses to overwhelming effect when he picks up Kureha's sword after her arm is cut off by Legion, allowing him to overwhelm him with ease.
  • Brainwashing for the Greater Good: He wipes the short-term memory of a group of soldiers in order to make them think a group of ice wolves saved their lives, making them come to peace with each other.
  • Contrasting Sequel Protagonist: In contrast to Keyaru, who used his power to pay back the evil done to him and viewed his allies as tools for his pleasure and revenge, Vega seeks to bring the best out of people when he can, using his Support powers to enable Laser-Guided Karma for and against evildoers.
  • Counterfeit Cash: He offers a bag of gold for Sandara's freedom which, unbeknownst to the seller, was completely fake, and, in contrast, offers the freed elves real gold to help them get back on their feet. He also offered counterfeit gold to the salesman whom he "bought" Setsuna from.
  • Heart Is an Awesome Power: While mocked for its inability to cause or heal any direct damage, his Support Hero abilities are a Swiss-Army Superpower ranging from boosting the stats of himself and his allies, disguising himself as another or a decoy, and even inducing amnesia in his opponents.
  • Likes Older Women: He mentions in narration that he "always wanted to marry someone older" and someone Mira's age was more his type than Flare, who was four years younger than him.
  • Meaningful Name: His name is similar to Diego de la Vega, i.e. the secret identity of Zorro, who similarly enacts vigilante justice against a corrupt government. His surname is based off Japanese name of the NulAll spell in Final Fantasy, a high-level white magic ability that decreases damage from all elements.
  • Necessarily Evil: He ambushes and manipulates the Jioral soldiers in order to coerce them into peace with the ice wolves they had been attempting to enslave. When Kureha confronts him for this action, he is ready to turn himself in to regain her trust before Kari intervenes.
  • Non-Action Guy: He is not the best at combat, and loses quickly when fighting against a mere knight (and especially Kureha). He ends up having to have his party members do the fighting for him, assisting them with stat boosts. He turns the tables on this when he gains Kureha's power to defeat Legion, and gains her Divine Blade ability permanently to make him slightly less of a slouch while in combat.
  • Perfectly Arranged Marriage: He is initially in a fine relationship with Flare while she is still kind and innocent, but their planned engagement becomes less perfect as she her personality sours from the pressure and influence of being the first princess and the Magic Hero, in part leading to their separation.
  • Shapeshifting Trickster: He can use Illusion to disguise himself to fool others, though his impressions are occasionally suspect and can be prone to making mistakes such as overlooking Flare's prejudices against demi-humans when posing as her to stop a group of soldiers from invading an ice wolf village.
  • Suicidal Overconfidence: He has a habit of getting into fights he cannot win as a mere Support class, such as getting wounded by Setsuna when she swipes at him as he stood in the way of her escape and getting disarmed in every one of his sword fights before getting Kureha's Divine Blade. This is contributed to by his depression brought on by the royals' contempt for his class and he is reminded by characters like Sandara and Anna that his life is more valuable than he makes it out to be.
  • Support Party Member: He is unable to deal or heal damage, but he provides useful stat boosts and many other utility abilities.
  • Too Dumb to Live: He directly tastes the blood of a beast that the ice wolf chief said they were about to poison Lanaritta's water supply with and Kari accuses him of being this, saying he "shouldn't make a habit of that." Vega insists that the "very effective" poison resist spell is sufficient protection.

     Hachi
Hachi (true name Dachshinu) is the Spear Hero of Dachshida Village whom Vega meets attempting to rob him, struggling to find food during a hunt, befriending Vega after he offers to get him the food he needs.
  • Amazon Chaser: While not the only type of women he's had a fling with, he claims strong women like Kureha are his "favorite type," which naturally contributes to him getting clobbered by her.
  • Animal Motifs: He is a hound demi-human with canine features whose short height and the name of his village and true name suggest he's based of a dachshund.
  • The Highwayman: He is introduced desperately looking for food for his village, resorting to robbing Vega in his camp when he is unable to find any hunt several miles away all night.
  • Kleptomaniac Hero: Besides the food he tried to steal from Vega, he also steals a spear from a guard and throws a healing potion to Sandara after Kureha loses her arm that Vega suspects of being "conspicuously-sourced."
  • Pint-Sized Powerhouse: He is one of the strongest physical combatants in the party despite being notably short
  • The Pornomancer: Hachi appears to have some uncanny ability to attract women and hook up with them, likely due to his Heroic status and actions. In spite of his short size, he alludes to something of his spear's qualities coinciding with his qualities in bed.
  • Recruited from the Gutter: After he attempts to steal from Vega and later befriends him, he becomes the first candidate of his party.
  • Something Else Also Rises: Hachi is about to make a phallic analogy with his spear before Vega interrupts him to "Do not finish that sentence."
  • Spear Counterpart: (pun not intended) He esentially is Setsuna's male counterpart in Vega's party and the author also claimed on the Redo of Healer subreddit that he is "definitely not" a gender-bent version of Roxanne from Harem in the Labyrinth of Another World as well.
  • True Companions: Hachi reveals his true name, Dachshinu, to Vega, and later to the rest of the party after Setsuna reveals her true name, Nayuta, to help solidify their bond.

     Kari Domina Jioral
Kari is the Bow Hero and one of the king's many children. Despite being the eldest of them, however, she is not given the title of heir, supposedly because she was the daughter of a mistress who died giving birth to her. Kari seeks to find the truth about her mother and why she's not the heir.
  • Cool Big Sis: She becomes this to Setsuna, helping her gain several levels through bonding with her.
  • Family Relationship Switcheroo: She believes she may have been lied to about her mother, Beatrice, whom she initially believed was a mere mistress who died in childbirth and seeks the truth about her.
  • Improbable Aiming Skills: She has precise aiming not only with her arrows, but also other weapons such as throwing knives; a fact that an attempted assassin learned the hard way.
  • Innocent Blue Eyes: Despite sharing Flare and Norn's hair color, her eyes are described as teal instead of green, coinciding with her status as the White Sheep of the family. This, coincidentally, became Flare's eye color when Keyaru turned her into the innocent "Freia" in Redo.
  • King Incognito: Other than passing mention of her family's pink hair, her true identity as a member of the royal family is not apparent to the reader until someone refers to her as "Princess Kari."
  • Meaningful Name:
    • In similar vein to her younger sister, her name is the abbreviated Japanese name of the Ranger class in Final Fantasy, "Karyūdo".
    • Domina is a Latin term referring to the "lady of the house," referring to her status as the eldest daughter of the King.
    • Her Holy Armament's name, Ultimus, is an alternate name of the Artemis Bow in Final Fantasy, which is also named after the Greek goddess of the moon and archery.
  • Missing Mom: Initially, it is thought that her mother, Beatrice, was a mistress of the King who died giving birth to her, but she increasingly doesn't believe this and goes out to seek answers concerning this.
  • Onee-sama: Despite not being the heir apparent, she is well respected, especially by many of the common folk who think she should be the true successor.
  • Princeling Rivalry: Shenanigans are heavily implied to have gone on behind the scene to prevent her from becoming the heir, which in part motivates her quest to search for her mother.
  • Prodigal Hero: Largely to avoid "the crosshairs of royal politics" that caused Flare's downward spiral into jerkassery, she started to go adventuring shortly after becoming a Hero, eventually seeking answers about her Missing Mom. She comes to regret not providing more moral support to Flare in her absence as she slowly became corrupted by her family and peers.
  • Warrior Princess: Even more so than her middle sister, Flare, who fits the archetypical magic princess trope, as she is skilled with fighting with bows and blades.
  • White Sheep: She is the only one of her known siblings who is unquestionably aligned with good naturally.

     Sandara
Sandara was the daughter of the mayor of Duskhold, a sanctuary city for the dark elves. She and Vega fell in love with each other after they spend time together during a diplomatic trip to the city by his father. However, four years later, her family is brutally murdered and her home pillaged and overtaken by soldiers under Princess Norn's orders and she is about to set to be sold as a sex slave with a group of other young dark elf women before Vega comes comes to her rescue.
  • The Bartender: After being saved by Vega, she began helping run a bar in the middle city of Lanarrita, where she eventually reunited with Vega.
  • Clingy Jealous Girl: When Vega consoles Kureha, who believes she's nothing without her ability to wield a sword, by saying she's gorgeous, Sandara immediately glares at him, prompting Vega to caveat, "Well, not as much as my wife…" She also insists that she is the Top Wife when proposing the potential Marriage of Convenience between Kureha and Vega.
  • Happily Married: She has a very rare example of a healthy consensual relationship in this series with Vega, considering the Crapsack World this takes place in with.
  • Meaningful Name: Her name is based off the Thundara spell in Final Fantasy.
  • Mystical White Hair: She has striking silver hair which, along with her violet eyes, tag her as a dark elf mage.
  • Rape as Backstory: Her mother was raped by Jioral soldiers before being killed along with her father. Sandara herself was then captured and about to be sold into sex slavery before Vega saved her, which caused him to be hesitant to be in a serious relationship with her since he didn't want to have sex with her right after saving her from this fate.
  • Red Mage: She is able to use both offensive and healing magic, and has a decently high level cap above the twenties, made higher by her marrying and having intercourse with Vega but, since she doesn't have access to the higher Hero magic that Flare or Keyaru has, and her Recover spell only speeds up the healing of wounds, and doesn't fully restore dismembered limbs like Recovery Heal does.
  • Ruling Family Massacre: Her parents, the mayoral family of Duskhold, are violently murdered by Jioral soldiers under Norn's order just as Vega goes to reunite with her, leading Sandara to hold a vengeful grudge against her.
  • Significant White Hair, Dark Skin: She is a dark elf who is the target of affection of, and later happily married to, our hero. Vega's love for her is one of the biggest reasons he rejects head maid Mira's advances on him.
  • You Killed My Father: She harbors a grudge against Princess Norn "after the terrible things she let happen to [her] family."

     Setsuna
Vega encounters Setsuna while scouting out a slave trader for leads on Harken and his band of outlaws. He buys her for a chance at both freedom and to gain the strength to get back at the ones who kidnapped her.
  • Absurdly Low Level Cap: She is met at level 7, at which she is barely able to cut Vega and is blown back for her troubles. Through through bonding with her party, however, she is able to get much stronger and pose a significant threat to her former captors.
  • Adorably Precocious Child: When Hachi spills the beans about Vega having sex with Sandara, interrupting Vega's retort that he "can’t say with Setsuna at the table," she "pulled a curiously surprised face."
  • The Dog Bites Back: Thanks to Vega and Kari's help in breaking her plateaued level cap, she quickly poses a legitimate threat to her former captors.
  • Level-Up at Intimacy 5: Since Vega and especially Kari (in spite of Hachi's suggestions) were adamant about not breaking her level cap through intercourse, they gradually build her up through closely bonding with her over several days.
  • Undying Loyalty: Despite Vega's insistence that she is not bound to him, she insists on serving him, invoking her true name, Nayuta, to seal her loyalty to him and the party, even after it is revealed he didn't even properly pay for her, as he had paid his debt to her by helping make her strong.
  • You No Take Candle: She has a mere rudimentary grasp on the native tongue which causes her to speak in an agrammatic fashion, including referring to Setsuna as Setsuna.

     Kureha Clyret
Kureha is the renowned Sword Saint who has a legendary skill with the blade. She is a friend of the De Baol family who confronts Vega, suspecting him of attacking Jioral Soldiers before realizing how corrupt the Kingdom she serves really is.
  • Adaptational Intelligence: While she still maintains her initial naïve stance, she comes to grips with the reality of the situation much more easily, though not without some continued doubt.
  • An Arm and a Leg: We find out why she had lost her arm at the beginning of Redo of Healer, after she fights the Demon Lord Candidate Legion and gets her arm cut off by him.
  • Beauty Is Never Tarnished: To Vega's surprise when she joins him and Sandara in the bath, he notices her naked body is completely unblemished with the exception of where her arm used to be in spite of her lifetime of brutal training and combat.
  • The Dreaded: The slave trader is already taken aback when he finds out three of the people he and his goon squad were trying to strong-arm were Heroes, but when he finds out the Sword Saint herself was at the table and he just confessed to demi-human trafficking in front of her, he and his goon squad immediately turned tail and attempted to flee. Unfortunately for him, before he knew it, she had his sword at his throat.
Kureha: Don’t even think of running. I’ve hunted down demons five times stronger than you.
  • Horrible Judge of Character: She takes what the royal family had been teaching her at face value, not trusting what Vega and Hachi had to say about the soldiers they attacked abusing their power until Kari confirms it, and she is confused when what Kari had to say conflicts with the propaganda she had been fed all her life.
Hachi: Y’know, young lady, I think I know what your problem is. The only people you will listen to is people like Kari and most people like Kari are fucking liars.
  • Marriage of Convenience: In the eventually realized event that her arm is cut off and unable to fight, she would be forced to marry to continue her family's legacy. She suggests to Vega that he present himself as her suitor before her family chooses for her in the event that they can't find the Recovery Hero and restore her arm.
  • Parent-Preferred Suitor: While Vega's father, Barak, insisted he marry Flare to get him the connections he desperately needed, Deborah wanted him to marry Kureha instead. This blessing by his mother is part of the reason she decides that she proposes a potential Marriage of Convenience with Vega after losing her arm to Legion.
