The Little Monsters
Wufflebump
The Gentle Giant
Voiced by Che Grant
A purple Rhino-like monster, and the leader of the main cast. He is 5 years old, and lives in a volcano house with his parents and dog Growlbert.- Butt-Monkey: He's often falling and tripping over things, likely due to his large size.
- Does Not Like Spam: He doesn't like Scrummatoes, to the point where hides the class's rainbow salad in the music room to avoid eating them.
- Gentle Giant: Even though he's the largest of his friends, he doesn't mean any harm at all.
- Heroes Love Dogs: He has a monster dog called Growlbert, and he loves him dearly.
- Nice Guy: Probably one of the nicest characters on the show.
- The Klutz: He can be very clumsy, as he's often tripping over his tail.
Icklewoo
The Shy One
Voiced by Rosie-Cooper Kelly
A yellow Goat-like monster, and the smallest yet shyest in the class. She is 3 years old and lives in a flower windmill with her parents.- All Girls Like Ponies: She loves unicorns.
- Expy: Her personality and voice is somewhat similar to that of Fluttershy's, in addition to having a yellow and pink colour scheme.
- Girly Girl with a Tomboy Streak: She hates wearing frilly pink dresses.
- Gruesome Goat: Inverted. She is a very sweet and timid little girl monster.
- Pink Means Feminine: She has pink markings on her body.
- Shrinking Violet: She is very shy, and is shown to have stage fright in an episode.
- The Cutie: Her small size and shyness makes her very adorable.
- Tomboy and Girly Girl: The girly girl to Meepa's tomboy.
- When You Coming Home, Dad?: Icklewoo's mom works frequently, and that almost caused her to miss her school assembly.
Wingston
The Brain Box
Voiced by Ben Guiver
A blue Bat-like monster who is the smartest in the class. He is 4 years old and lives in a castle with his father and grandmother.- Attention Deficit... Ooh, Shiny!: He often finds it hard to concentrate on things due to his energy.
- Bespectacled Cutie: He wears purple glasses, which add to his cute design.
- Missing Mom: His mother is nowhere to be seen nor even mentioned in the series until the season 2 episode "Wingston's Mummy", where it implies that she passed away prior to the events of the show.
- Punny Name: His name is a play on the human name "Winston", albeit with the word "wing".
- Raised by Grandparents: His grandmother helps his dad to look after him.
- Smart People Wear Glasses: He is the most intelligent of the monsters, and wears purple glasses to match.
- Token Flyer: He is the only monster in class who can fly.
- Wise Beyond Their Years: At four years old, he is quite intelligent.
Yummble
The Greedy Guts
Voiced by Max Pattinson
An orange monster with three eyes and and legs. He is 5 years old and lives in a giant mushroom house with his parents and baby brother and sister.- Big Eater: To the point where he can often be greedy and break the adults' rules of not eating when he isn't supposed too.
- Cool Big Bro: Although he didn't want to be one at first, he later changed his mind about it and is now a good big brother to his baby siblings.
- Delicious Distraction: He ALWAYS gets distracted by food.
- Extendable Arms: He is sometimes shown to have very stretchy arms.
- Obsessed with Food: It's sometimes the only thing he ever talks about.
- Trademark Favourite Food: All of them.
Meepa
The Chatterbox
Voiced by Ellie Gee
A green alien-like monster who has four arms. She is 4 years old and lives in a treehouse flat with her parents.- Friend to All Living Things: She has a huge love for monster animals.
- Genki Girl: Is always shown to be very cheerful, and a bit of a chatterbox too.
- I Want My Mommy!: Tends to invoke this when something bad happens to her. such as when she hurt her hand or when Glog ripped up all her flower petals.
- Jerk with a Heart of Gold: While she can sometimes be bossy and a bit self-centered, deep down she cares about her friends.
- Motor Mouth: She can never, EVER stop talking.
- Tomboy and Girly Girl: The tomboy to Icklewoo's girly girl.
- Verbal Tic: She often shouts "Meepa, Meepa!" in class.
Teachers and Staff
The grown-up monsters who work as teachers at the School Of Roars. Miss Grizzlesniff
The Lovely Teacher
Voiced by Kathy Burke
A red dinosuar-like monster who teaches Wufflebump and his friends at the School Of Roars.- Catchphrase: "Oh my claws!", and "Good Roaring, my little monsters!"
- Cool Teacher: She is very kind and caring to the young monsters, and loves to have fun with them in her lessons.
- Friend to All Children: Indeed she is.
- Ring Around the Collar: Wears a pretty flower necklace around her neck.
- Team Mom: She acts like a motherly figure to the young monsters, even giving them comfort whenever they feel upset.
Miss Twirlyhorn
Voiced by Sarah Lancashire
The headmonstress of the School Of Roars.- Meaningful Name: She has a single twirly horn on her head.
- True Blue Femininity: She is very light blue in colour.
Mr. Marrow
Voiced by Andrew Scott
The school chef who works at the School Of Roars' cafeteria.- Rambunctious Italian: He has a somewhat Italian-sounding accent.
- Supreme Chef: Why else would he be the school's chef?
Miss Sneezle
Voiced by Jess Robinson
The school nurse.- Rose-Haired Sweetie: While having no hair, she has light pink skin and is a very kind and helpful nurse.
- School Nurse: Obviously.
Monster Families
The family members of the main monsters.- Good Parents: Pretty much all the monster parents.

- Bumbling Dad: He can be just as clumsy as his son.

- Tertiary Sexual Characteristics: She wears a pearl necklace, and has red lipstick to match.

- Flying Postman: A literal example. He is able to fly and works as a postman.
- Like Father, Like Son: He and Wingston both look similar to each other, although he wears brown glasses while his son wears purple ones.
Granny Waftywing
Wingston's grandmother, who helps his dad to look after him.
- Cool Old Lady
- Doting Grandparent: She has a very close relationship with her grandson, Wingston.
- Needlework Is for Old People: She loves knitting.
- Stage Magician: She was once a famous magician called Goodini.
Other characters
Glog
Icklewoo's cousin from Upside Down Underland.
- Shrinking Violet: He can be a bit shy, not unlike his cousin Icklewoo.
