Chainsaw Man

The main trio

     Denji
The Chainsaw Man himself who was originally an ordinary human until an incident caused his pet/best friend Pochita to merge with him. Pines after Makima.
  • Adaptational Intelligence: Throughout the abridged series, Denji becomes increasingly aware of how bad the scripts are written and complains about them.
  • Suddenly Shouting: On Yuko's Twitter post about the Chainsaw Man plushie - except he doesn't start off quiet. He's loud from the beginning, then talks normally, then blows up the mic. Note that he is also typing in all caps but he doesn't scream out loud until a certain moment.
@shoegalyuko: they just released a new chainsaw man plush!! so cute!! wish i had it
@chainsawfandenj: I AGREE IT IS VERY CUTE!!! SO IS CHAINSAW MAN ACTUALLY! HE IS VERY COOL AND AWESOME!
@chainsawfandenj: THE LADIES SHOULD GIVE HIM A CHANCE
@chainsawfandenj: (literally bawling into his mic) PLEEEEEEEAAAAAASE!!!!!!
@chainsawfandenj: (murdering the mic even worse) PLLLLLLLL—LEEEEEEEAAAAA—

     Power
The Blood Fiend, a self-described hater of humans and is insistent that she is not gay.
  • Abhorrent Admirer: She has a crush on Kobeni, but Kobeni herself is turned off by it due to Power's relentless bullying of her.
  • Adaptational Sexuality: Despite her insistence, Power is a closeted lesbian who eventually comes out and no longer hides the fact she is.
  • Armoured Closet Gay: Though the closet is pretty transparent.
  • Boomerang Bigot: She bashes the LGBT community frequently despite being interested in girls.
  • Character Development: Power goes from being a closeted lesbian who hid behind a wall of homophobic rhetoric to no longer trying to hide the fact she was. This even extends into how she treats Kobeni: originally accusing her of being a "Lebanon," she now bullies her for being short.
  • Loving Bully: She fancies herself as this. She bullies Kobeni frequently, but she actually harbors feelings for her.
  • Narcissist: As in canon, Power is self-absorbed with herself and considers herself the greatest being in creation. In "power finds out about pride month," Power believed that she should be worshiped by humans after learning about the month.
  • No Indoor Voice: She's very likely to just scream and shout the second she gets emotional about something (which is often).

     Aki
A devil hunter who gets saddled down with Denji and Power much to his chagrin.
  • Ambiguously Bi: A downplayed trope in the fact that Aki never makes any comments towards attraction to the Angel Devil or Himeno, both make passes at him and he shoots neither of them down.
  • Not So Above It All: While he is the straight man to Denji and Power's antics and their wrangler, even he can become ecstatic over things he loves such as the Rocky series.
  • Only Friend: To Himeno, who everyone else seems to only tolerate, and Power, who everyone else simply doesn't tolerate.

Tokyo Special Division 4

     Makima
The boss of Denji and the others. She is also a manipulator.
  • Card-Carrying Villain: Unlike in the manga, this version of Makima doesn't bother trying to hide that she is evil and takes pride in being a "manipulator."
  • Freudian Slip: After making Denji think she was a lesbian, Makima tells him that her type was Chainsaw Man before switching to Denji to keep suspicions off her.
  • Laughably Evil: She blows up a Burger King while Kobeni and Power were still inside when they got her order wrong and on top of that she uses cringy tryhard "cool Gen-Z slang" at work, in order to "better connect with them".
  • Serious Business: Makima takes her love of Burger King very seriously to where she subtly threatens others when she believes that they had a problem with her liking the fast food establishment.
  • Trademark Favorite Food: Whoppers of all types.

     Kobeni
The perpetually anxiety-ridden devil hunter who Power bullies.
  • Ambiguously Gay: In power is a bit homophobic, she acts defensive when Power ridicules lesbians and is outright asked if she was one. She never comments on it.
  • Butt-Monkey: Kobeni gets no respect in the skits. Whether it's getting bullied by Power, or getting carjacked by Fami and Nayuta. She is not safe even in other anime skits.
  • Deadpan Snarker: When she isn't scared out of her mind, she's this.
  • Only Sane Woman: Whenever she is not having a panic attack, Kobeni shares this role with Aki.
  • Surprisingly Realistic Outcome: When Power attempts to ask Kobeni out after being nothing but nasty to her, Kobeni rightfully shuts her down saying that she wouldn't be interested in someone who threatened, insulted and harassed her no matter what their excuse was.

     Himeno

Aki's partner who is completely in love with him.

  • The Friend Nobody Likes: At best, the other devil hunters tolerate Himeno, but whenever she gets intoxicated, all bets are off. The sole exception is Aki, who seems to be mindful of her feelings and is quick to accept her apology for her actions years earlier.
  • Never My Fault: She deflects blame for her own actions by claiming that she wasn't sober at the time.
  • Shipper on Deck: Upon learning that Power had a crush on Kobeni, Himeno starts to ship the two much to Kobeni's chagrin.
