Bingo

A blackish grayish pug with a blue lightning collar who is more mature than his twin brother Rolly. He is the leader of Rolly and himself. Bingo is always ready to go on missions with his brother to help someone in need.

- "Rolly, you and I are going on a mission!"
- "Really?" Used whenever Rolly repeatedly does something that slows down their mission.
- "Time for Bingo to do his Thing-o!"
- The Leader: He often takes the lead in the pups' missions.
- Only Sane Man: He tends to take on this role during mission, being more focused than Rolly.
- The Perfectionist: In "The Total Yodel", he expresses frustration that he is unable to perform a backwards somersault, or yodel, perfectly the first time.
Rolly
- Voiced by: Sam Lavagnino (Season 1-3), Gracen Newton (Season 4-5)
A fawn pug with a red collar with a gold bone on it. He isn't as smart as Bingo but is very silly. He is Bingo's twin brother. Rolly loves to chew on everything he can find and it's a bad habit.
- Oral Fixation: He really likes to chew on random objects.
- Prone to Tears: This happened to him exclusively in Season 5.
- Stout Strength: He is noticeably pudgier then Bingo, but also stronger. All too often, the duo call upon his "Rolly power" to get the job done.
- Tunnel King: "Pyramid Scheme" shows him digging long tunnels with ease, and even uncovering the buried pyramids in barely any time at all.
Bob
- Voiced by: Harland Williams
The owner of Bingo, Rolly, Hissy, and A.R.F. He works as an industrial designer/product designer a.k.a. an "inventor." In Season 2, Bob has also modified the fence between his and Chloe's house, so that Keia can play with Bingo, Rolly, and Hissy and they can all visit each other's homes. In addition, Bob has also made a new collar for Keia, which she wears during missions with Bingo and Rolly.
- Affectionate Nickname: His sister Bonnie calls him "Bobby".

- Gadgeteer Genius: He loves to invent and bulid various gadgets for his pets.
- Mr. Exposition: In many episodes, he explains to the pups and the audience what's going on.
- Nice Guy: A very friendly and pleasant fellow, who rarely has a bad word to say about anyone.
- Happily Married: To Ana, as of the Season 4 finale.
Hissy
- Voiced by: Jessica DiCicco
- Amazing Technicolor Wildlife: She is a purple cat with a pink tuft of fur on her head.
- Cats Are Snarkers: For example, in "A.R.F.", Rolly is catapulted into the air, and lands the couch. Hissy's response is "How was your flight?"
- Cats Hate Water: She is NOT a fan of water and hates getting wet. However in the Season 5 episode "Riding in Ice Cream Trucks with Pups", after getting splashed by Leo, she stated that it feels good on her. At the end of the same episode, she joins with the other pets in the pool stating that cats like to get cooled off.
- Cool Big Sis: Hissy to Bingo and Rolly. They look up to her, often telling her about their adventures, and she doesn't mind joining on on their games (when she's not sleeping, of course).
- Jerk with a Heart of Gold: Downplayed. She's not particularly mean or selfish, but she is snarky and prefers to keep to herself. With that said though, she still deeply cares about Bob and the pups.
- Only Sane Woman: Hissy often keeps the pups' antics in check.
- Out of Focus: Although she is a main character, she is absent for 27 segments (47%) of Season 2 and 28 segments of Season 3, and only had 11 appearances in Season 4 and 13 appearances in Season 5, as compared to only 4 absences in Season 1. She would get a sizable role again in the final six segments of Season 5.
- Tuft of Head Fur: Hissy has pink fluff on her head.
A.R.F.
- Voiced by: Tom Kenny
A robotic dog that Bob invented. He first appears in the episode "A.R.F." and was updated by Bob in "Go Dog Go." He always refers to himself in third person in every episode with the exception of "Go Dog Go" and "How ARF Got His Bark Back."
- Do-Anything Robot: He has a number of built-in tools, such as a vacuum, drier, even a sidecar, with Bob adding new features on a regular basis.
- Fun with Acronyms: Auto-Doggy Robot Friend.
- Mr. Exposition: He often provides Bingo and Rolly with information regarding the locations they're going to.
- Third-Person Person: He never uses the word "I", instead always calling himself "A.R.F."
Keia
- Voiced by: Shiloh Nelson
A puppy that made her debut in Season 2. A new puppy owned by Bob's next door neighbors, Chloe and her mother. Keia also becomes close friends with Bingo, Rolly and Hissy ever since she met them. She is also known for wearing a turquoise colored long-sleeved shirt and wearing a pink collar with a gold star on it. She first appeared in the Season 2 Premiere, "A New Pup in Town."
- Demoted to Extra: She was kicked to the curb along with Lollie in Season 5 to focus on the new characters.
- Gadgeteer Genius: Most notably in "20,000 Leagues Under The Lake", when she single-handedly builds an entire submarine.
- Genki Girl: Extremely energetic and fun-loving.

- Speech Impediment: Keia had a slight lisp in her early appearances, but grew out of it in later apperances. This is probably due to her voice actress being so young.

Cupcake

- Amazing Technicolor Wildlife: She's a pink Maltese.
- Friendly Enemy: Despite antagonizing the titular puppies most of the time, she sometimes hangs out and plays with them, such as in the Playtime with Puppy Dog Pals short "Puppy Pool Party".
- Jerk with a Heart of Gold: She may be mean to others, but she occasionally shows her better side. Especially noticeable in "I Heart Rufus".
- Sitcom Arch-Nemesis: To Bingo and Rolly. Her relationship with them becomes better in season 2, though.
- Voice for the Voiceless: She does all the talking for the always unintelligible Rufus.
Rufus

- The Unintelligible: Most of his dialogue comprises of mumbling.
Frank Exposition

Esther Exposition

- The Dividual: They're almost never seen apart.
- Mr. Exposition: As their surname suggests, when they appear onscreen, they'll most likely talk about the things that puppies (and the viewers) need to know.
Bulworth
- Voiced by: Huey Lewis
The local junkyard dog.
- A Day in the Limelight: In "The House That Bulworth Built" and "Pop's Promise".
- Cool Old Guy: The pups look up to him, often going to him for advice.
- Chaste Toons: He has a niece, Sydney, but no mention of Sydney's parents are ever made.
- Down in the Dumps: Where Bulworth lives.
Johnathan
- Voiced by: Jeff Bennett
Bingo and Rolly's wisecracking seagull friend.
- Rhymes on a Dime: Most of his dialogue is spoken in rhyme.
- Out of Focus: He suffers from this from season 2 onwards, getting fewer and fewer appearances.
Chloe
- Voiced by: Emma Shannon
A little girl who is Bob's neighbor. As of Season 2, Chloe and her mother are the owners of Keia, a new puppy who also becomes best friends with Bob's pugs.
- Vague Age: While her age is never mentioned, it is presumed by her height and voice that she is anywhere between 6-9 years old.
Strider the Sheepdog
- Voiced by: Mo Collins
- Motor Mouth: She has a tendancy to speak really fast.
Hedgie
- Voiced by: Jack McBrayer
A brown hedgehog who is great friends with Bingo and Rolly and he gives great advice.
- You Don't Look Like You: His character model got a redesign for season two, giving him less skinny arms, and making his fur a darker brown.
Boss
- Voiced by: Brandon James Cienfuegos
A guard dog-in-training, who sometimes helps out Bingo and Rolly.
- Big Shadow, Little Creature: He often invokes this, appearing to be a big, scary-looking dog before emerging as he really is.
- The Klutz: He is more than a little clumsy.
Sidney
- Voiced by: Kitana Turnbull
- Fangirl: Of Bingo and Rolly. Having heard all about them from her uncle, she is very excited to meet them for the first time in "Bob's Birthday Wish".
- I Always Wanted to Say That: In "20,000 Leagues Under The Lake", she uses Bingo and Rolly's "Let's puppy dog do this" line, then immediately squees that she's always wanted to say it.
- Parental Abandonment: Her parents (one of them being the sibling of Bulworth) are never seen or mentioned.
Snowflake

Olivia

- Cute Mute: As a fish, she cannot speak, and in her first appearance, her new family fauns over how adorable she is.
Strawberry

Lollie
- Voiced by: Giselle Eisenberg
A black and white Cavalier King Charles female puppy wearing a green collar whose back legs are paralyzed, as first seen in "Adopt-a-Palooza".
- Ascended Extra: She had only two appearances in Season 2, but become a major recurring character from Season 3 Season 4.
- Demoted to Extra: In Season 5, despite being Bingo and Rolly's sister, Lollie was kicked to the curb along with Keia to focus on the new characters. Her screentime increased again in the final portion of that season.
- Genki Girl: Not to the same extent as Keia, but she is very energetic and loves having fun.
- Hidden Depths: In "The Naptime Chronicle", she mentions that listening to rock music helps her sleep.
- In a Single Bound: In her first appearance, she uses her front paws to jump higher than Bingo, to the pups' amazement.
- The Nicknamer: She spends most of her debut appearance trying out nicknames for Bingo, eventually settling on "Bingy" (with Bingo calling her "Lollie-pop" in return).
- No Sense of Personal Space: She likes to "boop" others on the nose (especially Bingo).
Ana
- Voiced by: Cree Summer
Lollie's owner and Bob's love interest, first seen in "Adopt-a-Palooza". She works at Puppy Playcare, a pet grooming/daycare facility. She and Bob get engaged in "Under Antarctic Lights", and are married in "Bob's and Ana's Wedding".

- Catchphrase: "Yips and wiggles!"
- Meet Cute: She first meets Bob when the two bump into each other, getting tangled up in Bingo, Rolly and Keia's leashes. For added cuteness, they keep saying "excuse me."

Cody

- Character Development: He is more confident and outgoing in his second appearance.
Rosetta (Bob's mom)

- Big Eater: Mo; In "The New Crew", he cleans out an entire bowl of kibble in seconds.
- Demoted to Extra: They only made few voiceless appearances in the background in Season 5.
- Family of Choice: Despite being different breeds of dog, they wholeheartedly consider themselves siblings.
- Fat and Skinny: Mo is the fat, while Auggie is the skinny.
- The Klutz: Auggie has long legs and big paws, a combination which often leads to her tripping herself up.
- Viewer Gender Confusion: Auggie is female, but can sail be mistaken for a male due to her masculine-sounding name and appearance. She was even referred to as male on This Very Wiki initially.
- Precious Puppies: Even younger, and cuter, then Bingo and Rolly.
Darius
Ana's nephew, who comes to stay with her and Bob while attending school in town during Season 5.- Child Prodigy: He attends a school for gifted children.
- Labcoat of Science and Medicine: His standard outfit includes a labcoat, showing off his intellect.
- Shrinking Violet: Initially shy around new people.
Grace
A girl around Darius' age, whom he befriends soon after arriving in town.- Manic Pixie Dream Girl: Serves as a platonic variant for Darius, helping him to open up more.
- Passionate Sports Girl: She loves practicing skateboard tricks.
- Tomboyish Ponytail: She wears her hair in this style.
Buster & Leo
Darius' pets, a puppy and kitten who join him when he moves in with Bob and Ana.- Cone of Shame: Buster ends up having to wear one in "Buster Bluster".
- Hates Baths: In "Family Picture Day", Leo naturally struggles with the idea of cleaning himself up for the family picture.
- Keet: Leo is highly energetic and excitable.
