Sasuke

"Legendary Sacred White Dragon"

Voiced by: You Oozono

  • Cain and Abel: Towards his once best friend, Kamui
  • Expy: He's based on the titular character of Kamui Den.
  • Honor Before Reason: He clearly prefers to follow his heart and beliefs, which is why he's now marked as a traitor: he left the clan to fulfill his personal desire and clean his honor, which is seen as unforgiveably selfish by his clansmen.
  • Ninja: Used to be an official one, until he went rogue.
  • Red Baron: "Sasuke the Legendary Sacred White Dragon" (聖伝白龍叉介, Seidenhakuryū Sasuke)
  • You Killed My Father: His beloved father was murdered by Haoh, and Sasuke left the ninja clan to avenge him as he requested in his last breath.

Kamui

Black Wind Shadow Tiger

Voiced by: Masahiko Yano

  • The Bad Guy Wins: In his ending he kills Nobunaga and, following his Right Makes Might mentality, decides to take over the nation, using Nobunaga's demonic sword to do so.
  • Cain and Abel: Towards Sasuke, who used to be his brother-like friend.
  • Cool Mask: As the ninja he is, he covers the lower half of his face with a simple one. He takes it off in one of his win poses.
  • My Master, Right or Wrong: Unlike Sasuke, he is completely and unquestionably loyal to the clan. When Sasuke broke its law, Kamui immediately decided to hunt him down.
  • Ninja: Still officially one
  • Red Baron: Kamui the Black Wind Shadow Tiger (黒風影虎神威, Kokufūkagedora Kamui)
  • The Only One Allowed to Defeat You: Only he will pass judgement on Sasuke.

Voiced by: Masahiko Yano

Goemon

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/nm_gaemon_victory.png
Goemon the Matchless Thief

Voiced by: Tomonari Sakiyama

  • Artistic License – History: The real Goemon was a contemporary of the actual Nobunaga, and was executed around few years after his death. How this Goemon is roaming around a long time after the death of the original Nobunaga is a mystery.
  • BFG: His weapon, which he keeps in a huge sheath strapped to his back.
  • Hidden Weapons: He has a chained metal ball inside his robe sleeves.
  • Hot Blooded Sideburns: Again, like nearly all media renditions if Goemon.
  • Just Like Robin Hood: Like the historical Goemon, this man makes sure to rob only the rich and redistribute the booty between those in need.
  • Playing with Fire: His BFG and other gadgets let him do this.
  • Red Baron: Goemon the Matchless Thief (怪盗無双五右衛門, Kaitōmusō Goemon)

Kasumi

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/nm_kasumi_victory.png
Kasumi the Red Sky Balmy Breeze

Voiced by: Masami Katou

  • Action Girl: She's a skilled ninja trainee who escapes from her clan to seek for some action and dodge her Training from Hell. Her father and trainer literally drags her back home in her ending.
  • Genki Girl: She's the brightest and most cheerful character in a cast with many a Blood Knight and Perpetual Frowner.
  • Red Baron: Kasumi the Red Sky Balmy Breeze (紅天薫風霞, Kōtenkunfū Kasumi)
  • Tareme Eyes: To emphasize how naive she is, compared to the rest of the cast.

Hou-oh

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/nm_houoh_victory.png
Houoh the Exorcist of Magic Star

Voiced by: Yoshikatsu Fujio

  • All of the Other Reindeer: Houoh's mystical powers made people fear him.
  • Desperately Looking for a Purpose in Life: Houoh has always wondered why was he given such Blessed with Suck powers, so he sees exorcising Nobunaga as his chance to find out the answer to his questions. His ending has him still as an exorcist, cleansing the Japanese lands of demons, and being more comfortable with himself.
  • Expy: He's identical to Kujaku, the main character of Peacock King.
  • Red Baron: Houoh the Exorcist of Magic Star (破魔明星鳳凰, Hamamyōjō Hōō)
  • Religious Bruiser: Dresses as a Buddhist priest and uses a vajra as his weapon.

Tenhou

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/nm_tenho_victory.png
Tenho the Itinerant Priest

Voiced by: Shinobu Sekimoto

  • Dark and Troubled Past: Word of God says that he was pretty much abandoned in Korea to train as a child, and later lost his family to a mysterious evil presence that's all but stated to be Nobunaga/Hao's influence.
  • Expy: Of Lam Ching Ying's stock Taoist vampire hunter role, first played in Mr. Vampire and repeated in countless Hong Kong Chinese Vampire films.
  • Old Master: The oldest member of the cast, and a proficient spell caster.
  • Onmyōdō: His fighting style, based on the magic he casts and his ofuda.
  • Paper Talisman: His main source of magic are these, plus a staff
  • Red Baron: Tenho the Itinerant Priest (陰陽雲水天和, Onmyōunsui Tenhō)

Unzen

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/nm_unzen_victory.png
Unzen the Kongo Arhat

Voiced by: Masahiko Yano

  • The Atoner: He seeks to eliminate Nobunaga as a self-imposed penance for his bad behavior. His ending has him working to rebuild the villages damaged in the war, looking happier than before.
  • Bare-Fisted Monk: Fights like this, unless he whips out his massive hammer.
  • Gentle Giant: Subverted, he is this normally but goes into HUGE unstoppable rages when drunk. so much that he was expulsed of the temble he was living and training at.
  • Red Baron: Unzen the Kongo Arhat (金剛阿羅漢雲仙, Kongōarahan Unzen)

Ranmaru Mori

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/nm_ranmaru_victory.png
Ranmaru the Obscure Kagura

Voiced by: Yasue Ishii

  • Anti-Villain: Arguably, despite being The Dragon to Nobunaga. He's unhappy to see his beloved master consumed by Haoh, and wants to kill him to separate the two and let Nobunaga be reborn.
  • Cherry Blossoms: He uses them in some of his attacks.
  • Dude Looks Like a Lady: And holy shit, H O W.
  • I Will Wait for You: Having been granted immortality, Ranmaru waited for a long time for Nobunaga's return. He grew disillusioned when he saw his lord completely consumed by Haoh, however, and in his ending he destroys Nobunaga's body to fully split the two apart and allow Nobunaga to be reborn again.
  • Red Baron: Ranmaru the Obscure Kagura (無明神楽蘭丸, Mumyōkagura Ranmaru)
  • Undying Loyalty: To Nobunaga. The real Nobunaga, not the one possessed by Haoh; Word of God says that this one treats Ranmaru like shit, whereas the original was kind to him. It plays differently in Ranmaru's ending ( he kills Nobunaga to exorcise Haoh out of him, and vows to wait for his return ) and Nobunaga's ( he pledges his loyalty to Haoh!Nobunaga anyway, probably since now it's impossible to separate them so Ranmaru has nothing else left any longer)

Oda Nobunaga

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/nm_nobunaga_victory.png
Nobunaga the Dark Overlord

Voiced by: Masao Horada.

  • Big Bad: Of the game as a whole.
  • The Bad Guy Wins: In his ending, he tells Ranmaru to follow him and soon he manages to take over the whole world.
  • Deal with the Devil: It's said that, during the Honnou-ji incident where he commited seppuku after Akechi Mitsuhide's betrayal, Nobunaga used his last bits of life to make this with the demon Haou.
  • Demon King Nobunaga: Goes without saying, of course.
  • Red Baron: Nobunaga the Dark Overlord (滅界覇王信長, Mekkaihaō Nobunaga)
