Like the official Carnivores series and the fan-made Triassic, this game also boasts a rich and diverse roster of animals to warrant its own page. The tropes specific to each animal should be listed here.

    Main Huntable Animals

Macrelcana

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/macrelcana.png

Macrelcana is a giant weta-like insect and a relatively docile herbivore, which when threatened can quickly hop away from any threat. This hopping ability makes Macrelcana very hard to shoot, gaining infamy for being one of the toughest first huntables and proof of how grueling the Eos Sector really is. Though it prefers to hop away from any threat, if cornered it can easily trample a man to death, even if by pure accident.
  • Animals Not to Scale: The real creature was about the same size as its closest living relatives, the wetas.
  • The Goomba: The first animal available to hunt, doesn't attack unless it tramples you by accident and costs 0 points to buy.
  • Herbivores Are Friendly: Played straight, but can still trample hunters by accident.

Eoprotura

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/eoprotura.png
Though it looks like one, Eoprotura is not an insect, but rather a more primitive type of arthropod. Being nearly blind, it walks on four legs and uses the two front limbs as feelers and weapons of self-defense. Eoprotura is a very basal herbivore, favoring soft plants and fungi over more woody plants.
  • Animals Not to Scale: Real-life proturans are incredibly tiny.
  • Composite Character: "Eoprotura" is not a real species, but proturans, the invertebrates its design is based on, definitely exist, only much smaller.
  • The Goomba: Shares this with Macrelcana, being a cheap, early-game animal with few ways to defend itself.
  • Herbivores Are Friendly: Averted; it will hack at hunters with its front limbs if threatened.

Holcorobeus

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/holcorobeus.png
Holcorobeus is an enormous rhino beetle and is almost the mirror image of the Triceratops and Chasmosaurus of the planet's Central Sector, moving itself around and rubbing its horn in a similar fashion. It is much less aggressive that its saurian counterparts, and will only attack if cornered. When it does attack, it has the potential to kill a man with ease just because of its pure size.

Pulmonoscorpius

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/pulmonoscorpius.png
Pulmonoscorpius, the iconic giant scorpion is one of the most famous predators of the Eos Sector and is the posterboy of the Mandibles tour. Its quick-acting venom can paralyze almost any animal on the planet. After hunting began, it has grown fond to the taste of humans, which it eats alive after having paralyzed them with its venomous sting.

Arthropleura

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/arthropleura.png
Arthropleura is a giant myriapod and a force to be reckoned with. While a herbivore, it will not hesitate to attack anything it perceives as a threat, raising the front of its body and using its enormous tree-cutting mandibles to wound the attacker and its many legs to trample it to death.

Cretorabus

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/cretorabus.png
Cretorabus is a carnivorous beetle and is common around the Eos Sector. It is not afraid to take on larger prey. Its huge mandibles, having evolved to break the chitinous armor of its prey, can easily crush a human spine.

Manipulator

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/manipulator.png
Manipulator is a type of predatory cockroach descended from Archimylacris, and is similar to Earth's praying mantis. Unlike a praying mantis, the Manipulator walks and runs on all six legs, though it also uses its raptorial front legs as weapons. When leaping on its prey, this quick and nimble predator can briefly flap its wings to be able to jump higher and farther to both reach prey in higher places and to surprise prey on ground level.
  • Animals Not to Scale: The real animal was much smaller.
  • Creepy Cockroach: Both in real life and in the game; in both cases, they are related to cockroaches (the one in-game even being descended from Archimylacris, a fellow cockroach).
  • Hell Is That Noise: Makes abrasive, buzzing screeches as its calls.
  • Slaying Mantis: Has a very mantid-like body shape; this makes sense as mantises and cockroaches are related in real life, and Manipulator is related to cockroaches.

Protosolpuga

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/protosolpuga.png
Protosolpuga is a primitive arachnid and is neither a scorpion nor a spider, but rather a solifugid. It walks on 8 legs, using the front two arms mainly to climb difficult terrain- or grasp on to struggling prey. Protosolpuga cannot produce silk or venom to immobilize its prey, instead relying on speed and sheer strength. Its enormous chelicerae can easily crush even the toughest armor, and will make short work of a human skeleton.

Jaekelopterus

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/jaekelopterus.png
Jaekelopterus is a terrifying titan of the sea that is found patrolling throughout the oceans of planet FMM UV-32. It is one of the few known aquatic animals on FMM UV-32. During the summer months, Jaekelopterus will climb onto dry land in the Eos Sector, their traditional breeding ground, where they engage in their mating rituals and lay their eggs. This requires a lot of energy, so after the fact these terrifying monsters will venture further inland to hunt and regain their strength, where no other animal is able to prey on them.

Inutilis

Top row (from left to right)- Nymph, Worker, Soldier and Spitter. Bottom row (from left to right)- Drone, Flyer, Queen and King.
The dominant species of the Eos Sector, the Inutilis are extremely dangerous to the point of being considered a force of nature. Combining strength, endurance, speed, versatility, an omnivorous diet and human-like intelligence, the Inutilis are eusocial simular to ants and bees. Which means they live in hives divided in several castes, all of which answer to a Queen. But unlike Earth insects, the Inutilis also have a King. Anyone who has seen an Inutilis never lived to tell about it.
  • Airborne Mook: The Drone and the aptly-named Flyer.
  • Big Creepy-Crawlies: And how! These things make even the Jaekelopterus look harmless.
  • Elite Mook: Every caste besides the Nymph and Worker qualifies for this trope.
  • Expy/Shout-Out: Of the Arachnids from Starship Troopers, the Space Pirates from Metroid, the Xenomorph from Alien and the Zerg from StarCraft. However, Word of God is that they are based primarily on the Bahrag from BIONICLE. Although all of the others were also used as inspiration.
  • Final Boss: Arguably the whole species counts, but the Queen and King are definitely this.
  • Giant Mook: The Soldier, Spitter, Drone and Flyer.
  • Hive Caste System: Read all the other tropes for more information.
  • Implacable Man: Every single one of them.
  • King Mook: The Queen and the (literal) King caste.
  • Knight of Cerebus: When the Inutilis appear, the already scary game becomes downright horrifying, due to them being the strongest enemy in the series. They are even capable of killing a Gojirasaurus!
  • Large and in Charge: The King and Queen, obviously.
  • Lightning Bruiser: All but the Inutilis Nymph are super-fast killing machines.
  • Super Spit: The Spitter. It uses acid.
  • Tunnel King: The Worker. They are the ones responsible for the valleys and caves in the Eos Sector.
  • Walking Spoiler: Their mere existance is hidden and treated as secret.

    Ambient Species

Hylonomus

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/hylonomus.png
Hylonomus is the only known reptile that lives in the Eos Sector. Hylonomus is a distant ancestor to the dinosaurs and mammals of the northern sectors of the planet. It is a swift and agile carnivore and scavenger, but does not attack creatures larger than itself. This leads it to commonly feast on the larvae and nymphs of larger bugs.

Diplocaulus

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/diplocaulus.png
Diplocaulus is a bizarre-looking amphibian that is common around the swamps and waterways of the Eos Sector. Despite it's dopey appearance, Diplocaulus is a ferocious predator of small aquatic and land dwelling animals, being something like a miniature crocodile. Being a carnivore, it eats fish, frogs, various small insects, and whatever else it can get its jaws around, such as Archimylacris.

Meganeura

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/meganeura.png
Meganeura gracefully rules the skies of the Eos Sector, where it preys on smaller flying insects and escapes predation by flying over the monsters roaming the surface. During spring and summer, when the weather is humid and the water level rises, Meganeura lays eggs en masse into the waterways. These eggs hatch into ferocious yet small underwater nymphs before molting into an adult Meganeura.

Megarachne

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/mandibles_megarachne_7.BMP
Megarachne is a species of eurypterid (aka "sea scorpion") that was initially mistaken for a large spider by paleontologists. It appears in the game in its outdated reconstruction as a map ambient.

Archimylacris

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/archimylacris.png
Although Archimylacris is much larger than similar looking cockroaches on Earth, it is cowardly and comparatively small to other creatures in the Eos Sector, situated near the very bottom of the food chain. It is a detritivore, feeding mainly on decaying plant matter off the forest floors, though when given the chance it will scavenge off of carcasses.

Bernicia

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/bernicia.JPG
In a world of armored megafauna, the soft-bodied Bernicia has adopted a different approach to defense; its body constantly secretes a foul chemical which can deter even a hungry Jaekelopterus, and its quick regeneration rate allows it to survive almost any injury. Should these fail, it can safely retreat into its near-impervious shell. These adaptations allow Bernicia to live for an extremely long time, becoming some of the oldest known animals on the planet.
