  • Agent Mulder: Usually the most gullible one in the group and easily falls for the other's fake stories or tricks.
  • Brooding Boy, Gentle Girl: Can be the Brooding Boy to Tortoise's Gentle Girl.
  • Butt-Monkey: Usually the main victim for tricks or other problems because of how gullible he is.
  • Catchphrase: "A game? I love games!"
  • Cowardly Lion: Despite all his energy and excitement, he can still be scared quite easily.
  • Distressed Dude: In "Emergency Rescue", he almost falls off te cliff because of Panda's story of a Bridge Monster.
    • Again in "The Hollow Tree" when he gets his head stuck in a hollow tree. However, he manages to free himself at the end.
  • Genki Guy: Always very full of energy and wanting to play games.
  • Hidden Depths: In several episodes, he is shown to be quite skilled at acting. Especially shown in "Magnifico" when he pretends to be a Lion called Magnifico when Panda is tired of playing with him.
  • Lovable Jock: Is the most active of the group and always looking for fun and games, but he is still much beloved to his friends and is always willing to help them.
  • O.O.C. Is Serious Business: In "Lion's Night Time Fun Fair", he becomes too scared to go outside in the dark because of Panda's trick. Tortoise and Dragon cancel the camp they were hosting to take care of him until he gets better.
  • Straight Man and Wise Guy: The Wise Guy to Dragon's Straight Man.
  • Why Did It Have to Be Snakes?: In "A House For Tortoise", he's shown to be very scared of thunderstorms.

    Panda

  • Achievements in Ignorance: Play with in "Sports Day" where she just throws the rock during shot put just to get it over wish after being tired of the games. But by doing so, she ends up coming first and starts enjoying herself again.
  • Aesop Amnesia: At the end of each episode that involves her, she learns the hard way that being lazy doesn't pay off and she has to work hard to. Cut the next episode and she's back to being her lazy self again.
  • Berserk Button: She gets really offended when people call her Lazy, Incompetent, Clumsy or a Coward and will stop at nothing to prove otherwise.
  • Big Damn Heroes: In "Emergency Rescue", she manages to rescue Lion from falling off the bridge. Despite Dragon and Tortoise being involved in the rescue, she is given all the credit at the end.
  • Damsel in Distress: Happens to her twice.
    • She almost falls off the bridge in "Tortoise The Hero" and is rescued by Tortoise.
    • She ends up falling off a cliff in "Missing Friends" and is rescued by Dragon.
  • The Ditz: In several episodes, she is shown to be pretty clumsy and manages to fall over quite easily. This is especially shown in "Panda Ballerina" where she wants to prove she can be graceful.
  • Foolish Sibling, Responsible Sibling: More like Foolish Cousin, Responsible Cousin. When her cousin visits in "Double Panda", she serves as the Foolish to her cousin's Responsible.
  • Hidden Depths: In "A House For Tortoise", she is shown to be a pretty skilled builder. It is also implied she built her own house.
  • It's All About Me: She spends most of the time thinking about herself and her own needs in multiple episodes.
  • Jerk with a Heart of Gold: Panda is shown to be very self cantered most of the time who always tries to get out of work, but still cares for her friends and will come to their aid when in need.
  • Lazy Bum: She spends most of the time trying to find ways out of work or trying to lay down and do nothing while everyone else works hard.
  • Never My Fault: Whenever she knows she's going to get in trouble, she never owns up to her mistakes and always blames someone else (most commonly, she blames Lion).
  • The Prankster: Always trying to find funny pranks to play o her friends (with Lion usually being the most common target).
  • Running Gag: She happens to have the misfortune of being victim to Dragon's crash landings.
  • Savvy Guy, Energetic Girl: In several episodes, she serves as the Energetic Girl to Dragon's Savvy Guy.
  • Supreme Chef: Episodes that involve her cooking show she is a really skilled cook (like the birthday cake she made for Dragon on Dragon's Birthday)
  • Tomboy with a Girly Streak: She can be just as active as Lion and participates in many of his games with him, but she still tunes back into some girly activities like cooking.
  • Trademark Favorite Food: Several episodes show that she really loves cherries. Especially in "Three Wishes" where her one wish that came true was a large supply of them.
  • Why Did It Have to Be Snakes?: Several episodes imply she is scared of heights (such as Flying Panda and Emergency Rescue).

    Tortoise

  • Agent Scully: She never falls for Lion or Panda's made up stories or lies and is usually the one who has to sort things out.
  • All of the Other Reindeer: She often gets teased because she is the slowest in the group which always really upsets her.
  • Big Damn Heroes: In "Tortoise The Hero", she manages to rescue Panda from falling off the bridge.
  • Brooding Boy, Gentle Girl: Can be the Gentle Girl to Lion's Brooding Boy.
  • Damsel in Distress: In "Upside Down Tortoise" Lion's over excitement for using the See-Saw has her flipped upside down. she bans both of them from using it until she is flipped right way up.
  • Gadgeteer Genius: She is shown in many episodes to be a skilled builder and inventor. Examples being the cart she made in Runaway Cart and in Upside tortoise, she builds a Sea Saw for Panda and Lion to play on.
  • I Just Want to Be Special: She is often tired of being the slowest and wishes she can be faster. She however changes her mind in "Very Fast Tortoise"
  • Only Sane Woman: While she and Dragon serve as the wise ones, Tortoise seems think more logically, especially when it comes to making plans.
  • Not So Above It All: While serving as the most mature member, she has no problem getting involved in the other's games or tricks when the time comes to it. Also she ends up just as amused by as the others at times when comical events tend to happen.
  • Team Mom: She serves this role to the rest of the group, usually being the wisest one and the one who gets everyone out of their mishaps.
  • Wise Old Turtle: Usually serves as the wisest and most logical in the group, especially when it comes to dealing with situations.

    Dragon

  • Ban on Magic: He does this to himself in "The Secret Apple Tree" when all of his magic he uses to help his friend backfires. He however changes his mind when his 'Final Spell' is successful.
  • Big Damn Heroes: Has two moments of this.
    • In "Emergency rescue", he manages to grab Lion's tail just in time as he's falling off the bridge.
    • In "Missing Friends", he manages to rescue Panda from falling off a cliff.
  • Breath Weapon: He summons his magical dragon breath by blowing smoke from his mouth.
  • Calling Your Attacks: Whenever he uses his magic, he says "Dragon Breath, Blow"
  • Catchphrase:
    • His Titular "Dragon Breath, Blow" as mentioned above
    • He also says "That didn't go quite as planned" anytime his magic backfires in some way.
    • He shouts "Look out below!" anytime he's about to crash land.
    • Whenever he comes up with a plan, he says "I've come up with a brilliant idea".
  • Delightful Dragon: Possibly one of the nicest characters in the series who truly cares for his friends, ready to help them whenever needed.
  • De-power: In "Dragon Loses His Magic", his magic strikes a mirror and bounces back on him, causing him to get the hiccups and lose his magic. Luckily he gets it back at the end.
  • Easily Forgiven: Even during their muse harshest arguments or fallouts he has with his friends, he is usually the first to forgive and want to rebuild the friendship.
  • Fatal Flaw: Most of the time his magic doesn't really work as planned, leading to the catchphrase above.
    • While being a skilled flyer, his landing still has room for improvement.
  • Flight: Unlike the others in the group, he is capable of flying thanks to his wings. Unfortinaly his landing skills are never the best.
  • Heroic BSoD: He suffers one in "Dragon Loses His Magic" when he is no longer able to use his magic and believes his friends will leave him since he's now a "Boring Magicless Dragon". Luckily his friends cheer him up with a Friendship Song for him that also manages to restore his magic.
  • Mad Scientist: Played with. He is often performing Magical Experiments in his home with either Lion or Panda being his assistant.
  • Our Dragons Are Different: He is a friendly dragon who blows magical smoke of his mouth to help his friends or grant their wishes.
  • Running Gag:
    • His magic usually messing up in some amusing manner.
    • His crash landings whenever he flies in.
  • Savvy Guy, Energetic Girl: In several episodes, he is the Savvy Guy to Panda's Energetic Girl.
  • Straight Man and Wise Guy: The Straight Man to Lion's Wise Guy
