Empires of the Ascended
Azir
Voiced By: Ike Amadi
3-mana | 1/5 | Ascended
The God Emperor of Shurima, Azir was left buried with his empire for centuries as his reign faced a cataclysmic fall. Having awoken in the modern day with his ascended powers at their fullest, he weaves the sands around him to rebuild the once great empire, in a determined and ruthless effort to return Shurima to its former state of glory and power.
Azir summons an attacking Sand Soldier (a 1/1 Ephemeral unit that deals 1 damage to the enemy Nexus if it strikes the Nexus) whenever allies attack. After you have summoned 13 units he levels up, gaining +1/+1 and passively giving himself and any summoned unit +1/+0 until end of round when it is summoned. Once the Sun Disk has been restored, he levels up again, gaining +4/+0 but losing his power-boosting ability, replacing your deck with the Emperor’s Deck and drawing one card, and summoning a Sandstone Charger (an Ephemeral 5/2) instead of a Sand Soldier whenever allies attack. His signature spell is Azir’s Arise!
Sand Soldier
Warriors formed from Azir's sand magic. They are summoned through his ability, or through various Shurima cards.
- Attack! Attack! Attack!: A large number of cards that summon Sand Soldiers do so in combat to put further threat on the enemy.
- Mooks: With weak stats and a 1-turn timed life, Sand Soldiers are weak but disposable. Even if not used to pressure the enemy, they can be used as fodder for cards like the Rite spells.
- Zerg Rush: Sand Soldiers are often used to augment attacks with sheer numbers, giving their controller a means to threaten foes without putting key units at risk. While they can be blocked, doing so chips down the opponent's board, and if not blocked they can rack up the damage to the enemy Nexus. Emperor's Divide is likely the best example of this, filling your entire board with Sand Soldiers and allowing you to dictate how your opponent blocks by giving their entire board Vulnerable.
Sandstone Charger
Creatures conjured from the sand to serve as powerful attackers.
- Elite Mook: Bigger and nastier cousins to the Sand Soldiers, albeit with the same 1-turn lifespan. They also tend to be more expensive to summon than their smaller counterparts.
- Our Centaurs Are Different: Sand centaurs wielding giant blades.
Nasus
Voiced by: Erik Todd Dellums
6-mana | 2/2 | Ascended
- Scribe Kah'nir, History of the Ascended Host
Brother of Renekton and once a revered curator of knowledge for Shurima, Nasus was also one of Azir's most loyal followers. However, with Azir's failed ascension and Shurima's fall at the hands of Xerath, Nasus was forced to seal his brother in Xerath's tomb and vanished into the sands to bide his time for Shurima's return.
Nasus passively has +1/+1 for each unit you have slain in a game. Once he strikes for 10 or more damage and lives, he levels up, gaining +1/+1, Fearsome, and Spellshield, and gaining an aura that passively reduces all enemies' Power by 1. When you restore the Sun Disc he levels up again, gaining +7/+7 and upgrading his aura to reduce enemies' Power by 3. His signature spell is Nasus' Siphoning Strike.
Renekton
Voiced By: Patrick Seitz
4-mana | 4/4 | Overwhelm | Ascended
Once a proud ascended warrior of Shurima, and brother to Nasus, Renekton was sealed underground for centuries following the empire's fall, and slowly began to succumb to madness. Fooled to believe Nasus was the one who sealed him away, the Butcher of the Sands, upon being freed of his confinement, set out on a bloodthirsty quest to kill his brother for revenge.
Renekton gains +2/+1 until end of round whenever he Challenges an enemy. Once he has dealt 12 or more damage without dying he levels up, gaining +1/+1 and getting an additional +3/+3 every time he attacks regardless of whether or not he is Challenging. When you restore the Sun Disc he levels up again, losing his stat-gaining passive but gaining +5/+5 and casting Dominus Destruction every time he attacks or blocks, which does 2 damage to all enemy units and the Nexus. His signature spell is Renekton's Ruthless Predator.

Her signature spell is Rek'Sai's Call the Pack.
Akshan
2-mana | 2/2 | Quick Attack
Akshan summons a Warlord's Palace or advances a Warlord's Palace 1 round when he's summoned or strikes. His signature spell is Akshan's Grappling Hook.
Beyond the Bandlewood
Xerath
4-mana | 3/3 | Ascended
Xerath deals 1 damage to the weakest enemy when a friendly landmark is destroyed. After 4 friendly landmarks have been destroyed, he levels up, gaining +1/+1 and upgrading his ability to deal 3 damage. Once you've restored the Sun Disk, Xerath levels up again, gaining +1/+5, changing his ability to instead deal 5 to the weakest enemy and the enemy Nexus at the start of each round, and passively causing enemies that die to be Obliterated instead. His signature spell is Xerath's Rite of the Arcane.
Ziggs (Dual-Bandle City Champ)
Worldwalkers
Kai'sa
5-mana | 4/4 | Quick Attack, Evolve
Kai'Sa creates a Second Skin (a 0-mana Fleeting Slow spell that grants all positive keywords on an allied unit to all your copies of Kai'Sa) when summoned and whenever you gain the attack token. When you trigger Evolve she levels up, casting Icathian Rain (a skill that deals 1 damage for each positive keyword Kai'Sa has, evenly distributed among all enemy units and the Nexus, prioritising the lowest-health targets first) when she attacks. Her signature spell is Kai'Sa's Supercharge.

Destined Poro (and Exlalted Poro)
1-mana | 1/1 | Poro
Exalted Poro: 1-mana | 2/2 | Poro
A poro that got her hands on a blessed medallion. If an allied champion levels up, she'll transform in an Exalted Poro at the next round start, and gain three random keywords.
- Magikarp Power: She starts as a pretty unremarkable poro unit, but transforms into a...still pretty weak unit, but with some very useful keywords to boost its utility.
- Mythology Gag: The medallion she's playing with is actually the "Nomad's Medallion", an item that used to be in League of Legends before it was patched out.
Khahiri the Student
3-mana | 3/3
Khahiri gave his mentor a reassuring smile. "I'll be back soon. And besides, I've spent every day for years preparing for this moment. If not now, when?"
An eager young apprentice of Zilean. When Khahiri is summoned, he gains +1/+1 if you've Predicted this game.
- Hot-Blooded: Impatient and eager to get into the action rather than sit around planning.
- My Future Self and Me: Naturally, given that his older self is a separate card, they have interactions with each other.Khahiri the Student: I don't really end up looking like you, do I?
Khahiri the Returned: Hey! I fought a Xer'sai for this jacket. - Reckless Sidekick: He seems far more eager to get into action than his colleagues and less concerned with planning.
Golden Ambassador
4-mana | 3/2 | Allegiance
A herald for Azir's return. When played, she draws a Champion from your deck and gives it +2/+2 if the top card of your deck is Shuriman.
- Epic Hail: Her ability boils down to this by giving your Shuriman champions a bold entrance. She'll also hail the Ascended champions if they are summoned while she's in play.
Khahiri the Returned
6-mana | 4/4 | Fearsome
Khahiri's older self after returning from his journey through time. When he appears in a Prediction, allied copies of him everywhere gain +2/+2, and when summoned, he shuffles a copy of himself into your deck.
- Future Badass: After spending goodness knows how long on the other side of a time portal looking for answers, Khahiri came back as a much older and more competent man.
- Me's a Crowd: He has responses for being played with another copy of himself on the board.Khahiri #1: Huh, the sisters aren't the only twins anymore.
Khahiri #2: Technically we're the same person... eh, forget it. - Older and Wiser: He's much calmer and more composed than his younger self.
Joraal, the Darkin Aegis
5-mana | 4/3 | Challenger, Tough
One of the Darkin, a tactician who fought alongside Aatrox against the Void. While his Ascended body was up to the challenge of a Forever War, his mortal mind was not.
- Death Seeker: Aatrox assures his friend with a reassuring tone that, with luck, the current battle will be the end for both of them. Upon dying, one of his lines indicates that he's finally at peace.
- Shell-Shocked Veteran: Many of his lines indicate that he still suffers from the trauma of fighting against the Voidspawn millennia ago.
