In General
- Beneath the Earth: They live deep within the Earth itself, so it's a given.
- Going Native: Which is divided into two (previously three) factions. One just wants to live on the surface, one(the Conservative Faction) wants co-existence with the surface, and one(the Radical Faction) wants to rule the surface.
- Mascot Mook: The Haniwas are mostly associated with them.
- Uneven Hybrid: The People of the Earth turn out to be born of an unstable mix of Japanese and Forthorthian DNA, essentially making them alien/human hybrids.
Conservative Faction
A party of those who wish to peacefully migrate to the surface overtime without the notice of the Surface dwellers. In General

- Antagonistic Offspring: Maguz is their child, who seeks domination of the Earth.
Radical Faction
A radical party made up of those who wish to completely conquer the surface world. They serve as one of the members of the Big Bad Ensemble. In General
- Big Bad Ensemble: With Darkness Rainbow and the Imperial Army.
- Renegade Splinter Faction: They're a faction of subterranean mole-people who are more interested in conquest compared to the Conservative Faction.
Maguz
Maguz/Raiga Kasumi
Leader of the Radical Faction, who seeks to conquer the surface world.- Antagonistic Offspring: He's actually Kouma's son, Raiga.
- Evil Versus Oblivion: The reason he shares information with the protagonists in book 34. Maguz doesn't believe that Ralgwin's men have any intention of helping his former subordinates take over the surface, and fears that they're just trying to shape the Radicals into Terrorists Without a Cause who'll destroy the surface (a danger that's weighed heavily on his mind ever since he saw what happened to Tayuma).
- Greater-Scope Villain: He's the leader of the Radical faction, which Kiriha opposes.
- Meaningful Name: His codename is based on the ancient leader of their people from legend, Maguz Fern.
- Spell My Name With An S: Is it Maguz or Magus?
Tayuma Shijima
Tayuma Shijima
- Bad Boss: When his soldiers run in fear of his One-Winged Angel, he also attacks them
- Deader than Dead: His soul gets sucked in the whirlpool of chaos
- One-Winged Angel: With help from Maya and (unexpectedly) the Hell Gate, he turns into a gigantic black hound.
- Reasonable Authority Figure: He's a Smug Snake, but not completely unreasonable. He makes a point of approving of the alliance of Maya of Dark Rainbow because she's technically is a member of their race.
- Taking You with Me: He tries this to Kiriha as a False Flag Operation.
- Smug Snake: He's so full of himself that the atrocities he commits are in the right and that justice was on the Radical Faction's side. Maya and Elexis are disgusted by Tayuma's methods.
- Villain of the Week: For Volume 6.
Dissolution Faction
The third faction who cast aside their identities as People of the Earth and left to live like the surface dwellers.- Neutrality Backlash: Unlike the other two factions, they're willing to discard their identities as People of the Earth. This placed them at odds with the others:
- The conservative side thought they were rushing things too quickly.
- The radical side denounced them since they threw away their pride and labeled them traitors.
