House Targaryen

    Daenerys

Daenerys Targaryen

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/daenerys103.png
Played by: Emilia Clarke

Daenerys Targaryen is the final surviving member of the Targaryen family that once ruled over Westeros. Having hatched three dragons and gathered a loyal army of her own, she has begun overthrowing many of the Free Cities with the intent of abolishing slavery and one day returning home to regain the throne that her family lost.

  • Deadpan Snarker: She has her moments.
Asher: [after trying and failing to pet Viserion] I don't think he likes me.
Daenerys: You still have your hand, don't you?
  • Insane Troll Logic: She believes that Asher must have provoked Drogon into attacking him and accuses Asher of having hurt her dragon if he shows her the tooth or has the one who was burned by him show their burns. Drogon is a giant fire-breathing, carnivorous Dragon.
  • Mama Bear: Daenerys is very defensive of her dragons.
  • Moving the Goalposts: Reneges on her deal with Asher to give him the Second Sons after completing a mission for her. That said, if you inform her that Beskha was Dezhor's former slave, or follow her orders to not kill any of the masters, she will at least compensate with enough gold to hire different mercenaries. Otherwise, she kicks them out. If you managed to win her favor, she ends up regretting this decision.
  • Not So Stoic: She's largely stony-faced and maintains an icy tone, but when proof of Drogon's whereabouts is provided she shows a great deal of concern. She is also amused and slightly impressed if Asher has the courage to try and pet Viserion.
    • If you managed to win her favor during Episode 5, she will express genuine regret for how she treated Asher in the credits of Episode 6, thinking that things would have turned out better had she done more to help.
  • Pet the Dog: If Asher allows Beskha to kill Dezhor, Daenerys will initially be furious that Asher disobeyed her orders. But if Asher tells Daenerys that Dezhor once owned Beskha, she will relent and express sympathy to Beskha. She even keeps her end of the bargain with Asher, admitting he had a good reason to disobey her.
  • Reasonable Authority Figure: Averted. She is rather cold towards Asher, acting suspicious, distrusting and immovable. She becomes more reasonable if you either follow her orders not to kill any of the Masters or inform her that Beskha was a former slave if you don't. In either of these cases, she still won't lend Asher any of her soldiers, but will reward him with enough gold to hire fighters of his own. She also retains Malcolm in her service, with the strong implication that upon her return to Westeros, she and her forces will be very strong allies for the remaining Forresters.
  • Was Too Hard on Him: If you won her favor during Episode 5, Daenerys' narration to Missandei during the credits of Episode 6 will have her express regret at the way she treated Asher, and she states that things probably would have turned out differently had she offered more help.

    Croft

Croft

Played by: Adam Leadbeater

Croft is member of the Mercenary Army known as the Second Sons. He commands the Hellhounds and has a past with Asher and Bheskha. Currently in service to Daenerys Targaryen.

  • Easily Forgiven: Asher and Bheskha took out his eye and stole from him. He doesn't seem to hold a grudge.
  • Eye Scream: He lost his eye at some point, which is implied to be the result of Asher's actions.
  • Troll: He has Asher beaten and threatens to maim him when they reunite. Just when it seems he's about to brutalize the boy, he bursts out laughing.
  • What the Hell, Hero?:
    • His reunion with Asher is to chew him out for the loss of his eye. He's just trolling, though.
    • He calls out Beshka drinking before an important mission and deviating from the objective to kill her former master, Dezhor zo Raza.

Pit Fighters

     In General
  • Badass Army: They prove to be surprisingly effective against the Whitehills.
  • Blood Knight: Comes with spending your entire life fighting

    Amaya

Amaya

"We are pit fighters! Artists, who paint in blood!"
Played by: Jaye Jacobs

Leader of the freed pit fighters in Essos. Has a history with Beskha.

  • Action Girl: A surviving pit fighter, with the scars to prove it.
  • Annoying Arrows: In the fight between the Forresters and Whitehills in episode 6, Amaya puts up a very good fight, lasting almost the whole battle and killing many soldiers with her spear. Unfortunately, a spear still isn't a good weapon against crossbows, and Amaya is finally killed by receiving a minor spear wound and then being shot with arrows.
  • Bash Brothers: Used to be with partners with Beskha.
  • Bling of War: She wears a full suit of flashy golden armor.
  • Character Death: Killed by arrows in the final battle.
  • Rape, Pillage, and Burn: Before they set sail for Westeros, she bluntly tells Asher that this is her and the rest of the pit fighters' plan of action for Westeros as soon as they're done helping out the Forresters.

    The Beast

The Beast

"We'll take what we want, and kill anyone who stands in our way."
Played by: Samoa Joe

Feared pit fighter, and Amaya's number two. Known to eat the bodies of his opponents.

  • Annoying Arrows: Gets hit with several arrows, but just keeps going until he's downed by a thrown spear.
  • Badass Boast: "My master only fed me when I won. I won a lot".
  • Fat Bastard: His master only fed him when he won, and he's obese.
  • I'm a Humanitarian: He's strongly implied to be a cannibal.
  • Made of Iron: Capable of moving and fighting despite several incapacitating wounds.
  • Tension-Cutting Laughter: Should Asher headbutt him in the face, the Beast is impressed by his bravado, laughs, and lets him pass.
  • We Hardly Knew Ye: He's introduced as a formidable warrior and dies in the same episode.

    Bloodsong

Bloodsong

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/nov_bloodsong_waiting.png
"You all see this cockless Westerosi? He's come to order us to battle like our Masters did! I kill no man because another orders me to. I kill a man because it pleases me"
Played by: Paul Nakauchi

High-ranking pit fighter, and current champion of Amaya's arena. Skilled with numerous weapons.

  • Ambiguously Gay: One of his taunts to Asher is that he'd sooner "bend him over to fuck than fight". It's unclear whether it's intended for intimidation or if he legitimately thinks Asher is attractive.
  • Arrogant Kung-Fu Guy: It seems he hails from Yi Ti, the setting's counterpart of Asia, and he loves to boast about himself.
  • Combat Pragmatist: Fights dirty, as befitting a seasoned pit fighter, and compliments Asher if he takes the opportunity to sucker punch him before their fight officially starts.
  • Duel to the Death: The pit fighters force Asher to fight Bloodsong in one in order to gain their respect. Asher can choose to spare him, however.
  • Optional Party Member: If Asher decides to spare Bloodsong, he will join those going to Westeros, seeking a worthy death now that he's been disgraced among the pit fighters.
  • Shameless Self-Promoter: He really plays up the crowd, even waving to the audience during a leg triangle choke-hold.
  • Trash Talk: He seems to revel in it.
  • What Happened to the Mouse?: If Bloodsong was spared in episode 5, he will appear in the Battle of Ironrath in episode 6 and put up a good fight, taking down Whitehill soldiers with his spear. However, Bloodsong doesn't appear after watching the Whitehills break down the gate in horror, so it is unclear whether he lived or died in the battle.

Others

    Tazal

Tazal

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/tll_tazal_tavern.png
Played by: Brian George

A commander in the Lost Legion with a grudge against Asher.

  • An Arm and a Leg: After retrieving Tazal's sword Asher uses it to chop off the former's right hand.
  • Asshole Victim: Few players can resist the idea of breaking his neck; he shows absolutely no redeeming factors, murdering the man that he was supposed to retrieve, stealing the gold that Asher was supposed to be paid and attempting to have Asher killed.
  • Defiant to the End: He continues to threaten Asher even as he lies wounded on the floor.
  • Knee Capping: If you choose not to break his neck Asher will to this to Tazal instead.
  • Screw This, I'm Outta Here: If you choose to break his knee instead of his neck, he will escape with his life and continue to have his men hunt Asher.
  • Starter Villain: For Asher's storyline. Tazal usually becomes this, due to him being such an incredible asshole that players can't resist killing him. If he isn't killed, his men continue to hound Asher and Beshka until they get to Meereen.

    Dezhor zo Raza

Dezhor zo Raza

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/sow_dezhor_scared.png
Played by: N/A

One of Mereen's Great Masters.

  • Ain't Too Proud to Beg: Grovels for his life as Bheskha threatens to murder him.
  • Asshole Victim: A slave master who has children battle animals and one another. You are given the choice of either leaving him alive to be punished by Daenerys, allowing Beskha to murder him in revenge for her past, or killing the bastard yourself.
  • Laser-Guided Karma: Letting Beskha kill him could be seen as this.
  • Oh, Crap!: When he realises the warrior woman beating the shit out of him is a former slave he abused.
  • Sadist: Said graphically by Beskha on how he would enjoy forcing kids to fight for their lives.
  • Slashed Throat: One of his potential deaths.
  • Would Hurt a Child: Oh yeah. He was a slaver who forced kids to fight each other to the death for his own entertainment. That literally goes without saying.
