The Radioactive Uber Clan

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/ruc.jpg

The main antagonists of Crashocalypse. A group of (mostly) cartoon characters who believe they're eradicating the world of evil "Demons" and are willing to do anything, even conquer the Natto Peninsula or slaughter thousands to achieve their goals. They somehow got a surge in power, destroying Mike's Settlement and managed to conquer portions of the Natto Peninsula. Despite this, they're usually incompetent or at the very least, too stupid to be taken seriously at times.

Tropes:

  • Adaptational Villainy: Some of them were very heroic cartoon characters from their own home series, or at the very least not as insane and genocidal as shown here. Given how most, if not all of the RUC are clones of the original cartoon characters, it makes sense.
  • A Nazi by Any Other Name: They end up having a lot of disturbing Nazi-esque tropes apply to them, even though they insist they aren't. Ironically, they recruit Neo Nazis into the RUC.
  • Arch-Enemy: They paint Mike and his community as such, mostly due to the banning of Fat Albert when he harassed Bern in the Shack. They see them all as "Evil reality warping demons who commence blood orgies and plunge the world into darkness" with no redeeming features at all.
  • Artificial Human:Or at the very least, cloned cartoon characters.
  • Believing Their Own Lies: It's speculated that their ways to demonize and slander their enemies made them believe in everything they said.
  • Berserk Button: Whooo boy..... Liking anime, being friends or anywhere near Mike, Spicy food, Accusing them of being nazis or racist, criticizing their actions... The list goes on and on.
  • Blatant Lies: It's very obvious that whatever they say for sympathy or justification is far from the truth. The only people who believe them are other members of the RUC or people who go along with it if it means to act like a dick to everyone else.
  • Demonization: The RUC has taken this trope to its most literal. They actually slander and believe their own enemies are actual demons with satanic powers and want to plunge the world into darkness.
  • The Caligula: Each of the main four RUC members qualify as this, abusing their powers in every part of the peninsula they are in and acting overall insane.
  • Elite Four: The main four RUC members who hold the most power who (try) to fill a role here.
    • Popeye is the Big Bad of the RUC as a whole.
    • Fat Albert, despite being the RUC's "Tech Expert" fits more in line with The Brute.
    • Felix the Cat fits more in line with the Holy Hitman role here.
    • Jabberjaw is meant to be the Evil Genius of the RUC...which isn't saying much here.
  • From Nobody to Nightmare: One part of the plot discusses how the RUC managed to go from a violent, but quirky and incompetent clan of cartoon characters to a violent organization with the potential to take over an entire peninsula.
  • He Who Fights Monsters They're possibly the poster child of this trope for this game. Their obsession with wiping out "demons" and making the world a better place in their eyes end up in them doing the very thing they believe their enemies are doing.
  • Insane Troll Logic: The RU Cs attempt at literally demonizing their enemies makes for some of the most over the top, absurd, and nonsensical justifications for going after people.
  • Knight Templar: They genuinely believe they're the heroes trying to clean the world of "demons" which is what makes them both goofy and terrifying at the same time. These guys think all the genocide, torture, and other heinous acts are an act of good!
  • Murder Is the Best Solution: How the Clan deals with "demons". In fact, they don't even give peace a chance and go straight to murdering them.
  • Out-of-Character Moment: A very big giveaway that something is severely wrong with them since most of them don't act like the cartoon character they're supposed to be. With them being clones and all, it makes sense.
  • Roger Rabbit Effect: They're living cartoon characters or rather, clones of the original running around in a fantasy setting. Very few people point this out, bizarrely enough.

    Popeye

Popeye The Sailor

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/popeye_3.PNG

The leader of the Radioactive Uber Clan and by extension, the main antagonist of Crashocalypse. He's not like the typical cartoon sailor you knows as this Popeye is much more violent, vicious, and downright insane than the original. He believes in purging the world of "demons" and is willing to do anything to achieve his goals. Ever since Albert was kicked out of Mike's community, Popeye has targeted Mike, believing he's the source of all evil. During the start of the game, he has gained considerable power and is seen ruling his conquered territory with an iron fist.

Tropes:

  • A Nazi by Any Other Name: While this applies to all of the RUC, this heavily applies to Popeye. There's a lot of parallels between him and Adolf Hitler. Both are leaders of a fanatical faction with their followers listening to every word they say, both take part in purging "undesirables" by any means necessary, and both of their factions naturally falls apart as their respective war goes on.
  • Dirty Coward: He usually runs away when things are never going his way or if Mike is around and he isn't dead. He tends to only fight back if the person he sees is weaker than him or if he has no other choice.
  • Even Evil Has Loved Ones: Possibly the only redeeming factor Popeye has is he shows at least some genuine care about his members. He becomes visibly distraught when he believed Mike killed Jafar(Even though him Burying Jafar alive while Jafar begged that he was alive can be argued that it's still part of his delusionals).
  • Irrational Hatred: Anything that is considered "demonic" or different, Popeye will have his clan go out to exterminate them by any means necessary.
  • Final Boss: Is the final boss the player fights in Mike's scenario, whose scenario is the last one in the game.
  • I Can't Hear You: For some reason, when Jafar was defeated by Mike because Popeye temporarily killed Cocaine, Jafar was begging Popeye to help him up but Popeye believed he was dead, either ignoring everything he is saying or his ears went mute. This proved to be Jafars downfall as His own friend buries him alive.
  • One-Winged Angel: During the final fight against him, Popeye consumes "Spinach"(Which is implied to be something radioactive and not really spinach), causing him to transform into Demi-Popeye.
  • Politically Incorrect Villain: His definitions of a demon usually goes to anyone who is a minority, LGBT, or even friends of said people. His first "villain" he fought he gave the name of "Mr. Jap".
  • The Social Darwinist: He holds some social darwinist attitudes, believing a hero is someone who is powerful and they always win while demons are ones who lose.
  • Unknown Rival: To Mike. While Mike notices Albert a lot and at least tries to converse with him, there's barely any actual animosity from Mike when it comes to Popeye. It's implied he doesn't even notice Popeye at all until during the events of the game.
  • With Great Power Comes Great Insanity: He was always insane before the events of the game but by the time he wipes out Mike's settlement and has the RUC rise in power, he becomes absolutely unhinged.

    Fat Albert

Fat Albert

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/albert.PNG

Possibly the most well known member of the Radioactive Uber Clan, Fat Albert is apparently the RUC's personal Tech Expert. He ended up getting a huge grudge against Bern for years due to his harassment of her getting him kicked out of Mike's Settlement and due to this, the RUC saw Mike and company as evil demons ever since. Albert is the main antagonist of Berns scenario, capturing her during the prologue and became a recurring threat during her scenario.

Tropes

  • Acrofatic: Despite his size, he can actually run very fast, much to the shock of Mike's followers.
  • Arch-Enemy: To Bern. She's everything he dislikes on a person and his outburst against her caused him to get kicked out of Mike's Settlement. To Albert, he sees this as a personal vendetta.
  • Arc Villain: Is the main antagonist in Berns scenario.
  • Cain and Abel: The Cain to Negative Alberts Abel.
  • Evil Counterpart: To his "twin" brother, Negative Albert. Ironically enough, Negative Albert sees himself as this.
  • Evil Is Petty: The whole reason why the RUC has been after Mike and his followers for years? You can blame Albert due to him getting kicked out.
    • Similarly, his entire slaughtering of his family can be seen as such. His mother was strict but to him, he saw this as a reason to kill her. Negative Albert was due to the belief he's an "evil" clone.
  • Evil Gloating: Particularly prone to this. Case in point, when he was rubbing it in Berns face when he captured her and he was mocking and showed Mama Alberts decapitated head when he finally attacked Negative Albert.
  • Fat Bastard: Somehow makes the cartoon Fat Albert he is based off look skinny by comparison. He's the largest member of the RUC and is one of the most unpleasant people to hang around with. He somehow makes Eric Cartman of all people look like a kindhearted soul by comparison.
  • Gasshole: One of his attacks is producing a huge fart on his enemies.
  • Kick the Dog: He is very prone to this. He showed his "mothers" severed head to his "brother" while mocking him, he was gloating about his punishment to Bern, and he generally rubs it in if the heroes have even one setback.
  • Non-Standard Character Design: His sprite is actually one of the widest human sprites, if not the widest in the entire game, giving him a standout appearance.
  • Psychopathic Manchild: Easily the most immature and cruel member of the RUC, which is saying something.
  • Self-Made Orphan: He ended up decapitating his mother, Mama Albert in a fit of immature rage during Berns scenario.
  • Sir Swears-a-Lot: Easily the most vulgar of the RUC by a wide margin.
  • Thin-Skinned Bully: He can take insulting, attacking, and generally mocking people he sees as weak or as "demons" but all it'd take is insulting him back or in the case of Pink Panther, lightly punching him to make him cry.

    Felix the Cat

Felix the Cat

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/felix.PNG

The RU Cs personal "Assassin". He is a small, loudmouth cat that ended up joining the Radioactive Uber Clan after killing "Ernest P Worell"(The guy really wasn't Jim Varney) in front of Popeye after running away from his home due to him killing his owner. He is the main antagonist of Steve's scenario, allying himself with the likes of Garfield and Ruben's Nuts to try and kill Steve once and for all. Despite this, he has proven time and again that he is not a good assassin at all.

Tropes

  • Arc Villain: Is the main antagonist in Steves scenario.
  • Arch-Enemy: To Soviet Steve and to an extent, Ambush Bug, believing the latter ran him over with a train.
  • Assassin Outclassin': He's considered the RUC's personal assassin but every attempt of his assassinations end either with him blurting out he's going to assassinate his target and giving them time to prepare, doing the job sloppily, or taking credit for deaths that weren't even his.
  • Cats Have Nine Lives: He is a cat, after all. One of which was apparently lost from getting run over by a train.
  • Childhood Friends: He has been friends with Garfield, going to college together.
  • Combat Pragmatist: Probably the only thing he is successful at being an assassin. He does not play fair at all and is willing to go to extreme, dirty measures to frame his enemies or beat them in a fight.
  • The Napoleon: Easily the smallest member of the Radioactive Uber Clan and is a complete warmongering psychopath.
  • No Indoor Voice: Easily the loudest member of the RUC. He is so loud that his screeches become quiet! He actually weaponizes this with a buff to him and/or damaging his enemies.
  • Self-Made Orphan: He murders his owner in his sleep due to the belief that he was being abused by him. In truth, his owner literally filled the house with cat food and Felix was still concerned over starving to death!
  • Trademark Favorite Food: Lemon Tea. He is so obsessed with it he even lead a massacre in a villager for being one tip short.
  • Why Did It Have to Be Snakes?: Due to getting run over by a train once, he is deathly afraid of trains. This comes to play in Steves scenario where using Ambush Bugs Train Skill can deal double damage to Felix.

    Jabberjaw

Jabberjaw

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/jabberjaw_6.PNG

The RUC's own "Historian". He is supposedly one of the younger members of the group, coming after Felix and Albert were recruited after he was attacked by a "masked demon"( Really just a dentist trying to clean his teeth.). He is in charge of all the historical info of the Radioactive Uber Clan as well as spread propaganda around. He is the main antagonist in Glack's scenario.

Tropes

  • Arc Villain: Is the main antagonist in Glacks scenario.
  • Blatant Lies: When his work consists of a perfectly normal person being claimed they're some shapeshifting, cannibalistic, rapist demon who eats babies and has bad breath you know you fall under this trope.
  • Flunky Boss: The final battle in Glacks scenario has you go against two of the Street Sharks against him.
  • Malicious Slander: His main shtick in quite literally demonizing anyone who is against the RUC to the point of dehumanization.
  • Propaganda Machine: A majority of the slander and demonization can be traced back to Jabberjaw writing it, or at least making this false info known to the world.
  • Small Name, Big Ego: He has the biggest ego out of all of the RUC, which is saying a lot.

    Jafar

Jafar

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/jafar.PNG

The RUC's strategist as well as one of Popeye's oldest friends. He was one of the founding members of the Radioactive Uber Clan, recruited to go after the man named "Mr. Jap". Ever since, he has given his assistance to the clan as a strategist.
