    General
  • Cycle of Revenge: For generations, the ruling dynasty of Kreislauf has been clashing with a local Dragon clan, with both sides murdering each other in revenge for the murder of a family member. However, it's deconstructed — no one really remembers how the feud started, and by responding to hate with more hate, both sides allowed the cycle of revenge to endure. This eventually stops when a Bronze Dragoness named Onelka realizes, thanks to Rainbow Dash and Moon Ray, that Revenge Is Not Justice and breaks the cycle by defeating her mother's killer, King Rache, nonlethally.
  • Dragon Knight: Started training them post-revolution under Queen Onelka and King Tilgen, which proved immensely useful when Talon Bais attacked.
  • Fantasy Metals: They've created a series of magical metals called Kreislaufium (details here) by forging metal in a dragon's Breath Weapon using a specific process. This proved to be a major export that put the country on the map.
  • A Nazi by Any Other Name: Under King Rache, Kreislauf became an Autorist nation, complete with dictatorial oppression and racial/ethnic cleansing. This ends after Rache and his regime was overthrown by his son with the aid of Onelka.

Royal Family

    Prince/King Tilgen
King Tilgen, previously Crown Prince Tilgen, is ex-King Rache's son and the current co-ruler of Kreislauf.
  • Defector from Decadence: Realising the folly of continuing the Cycle of Revenge between the Dragonflight and the kingdom led to him aiding the rebels in overthrowing his own father and pulling a Heel–Face Turn.
  • The Dragon: Of King Rache, being the crown-prince of Kreislauf and the most persistent opponent Onelka battled in her struggle against King Rache.
  • Happily Married: With Onelka after getting the crown and during the pacification of the country of its remaining Autorist elements and defending it against its previous Autorist allies.
  • Heel–Face Turn: Recognising the futility of the Cycle of Revenge led to him turning against his father.
  • Noble Demon: He fought for his father and his Autorist regime, but did not subscribe to the ideology and not as bad as he was. Recognising this and the folly of the Cycle of Revenge led to Onelka persuading him to pull a Heel–Face Turn

    Queen Onelka, the Dragon Dame

Character: Heroic

Alignment: Neutral Good

Type: Ruling Sovereign, Noble Dragon, Bronze Dragon, Warrior Queen

Faction: Kingdom of Kreislauf

Queen Onelka (her entry here) is a Bronze Dragoness who became a heroine after breaking away from a vicious cycle, and the co-ruler of Kreislauf.
  • Arch-Enemy: She and her family were archenemies of Kreislauf's ruling dynasty — in her case, her archenemy was the Griffon Autorist King Rache. While she opposed him for his racist atrocities, she also held a grudge against him for killing her mother. It's deconstructed as she was only perpetuating a Cycle of Revenge that plagued both families for countless generations enough that no one even remembers how it started. Rainbow Dash/Fidelitas and Moon Ray/Canticum poking holes into her motivations by asking her about her family's history with Rache's family leaves her deeply rattled, but it's not until during one of her fights with then-Prince Tilgen, Rache's son, that she truly realizes the outcome if she were to kill Rache. When she finally confronts and defeats Rache, she instead chooses to end the cycle by restraining him with his own sword despite Rache ordering her to kill him, and knocking him out with her tail.
  • Armor Is Useless: Defied. Like many progressive Dragons, she wears armor because she recognized that relying on her natural strength and endurance alone isn't enough. While it doesn't render her invincible, it's still much better than going completely unprotected.
  • Armor-Piercing Question: She would receive a series of questions during a meeting with Rainbow Dash/Fidelitas and Moon Ray/Canticum Lunae, who both recognized she was perpetuating the Cycle of Revenge plaguing her and King Rache's families and tried to make her let it go. While she initially stormed off, she was deeply rattled and ultimately realizes they were right, resolving to confront Rache solely to end his tyranny.
Prince Canticum Lunae Cahaya: Why do ya want ta kill that tyrant?
Onelka: Because of everything he's doing to this country!
Prince Canticum Lunae Cahaya: Is that why ya wanna STOP 'em or why ya wanna KILL him?
Onelka: I... I want to kill him because... he killed my mom.
Princess Fidelitas: Really? Huh. And why did he do that?
Onelka: Because he's one of them!
    Princess Fidelitas: One of what?
Onelka: One of the royal family!
Prince Canticum Lunae Cahaya: And WHY does that mean he would kill yer folks?
    Onelka: It... It just...
Princess Fidelitas: Why did he REALLY kill your mom?
Onelka: He... He did it because... because... my mom killed his dad...
Princess Fidelitas: And why did she do THAT?
Onelka: Because... because his mom killed her mom...
Princess Fidelitas: And why did she do that?
Onelka: ...Because... because her mom killed her aunt...
Prince Canticum Lunae Cahaya: ...And how did all of this sh-Ah mean horseapples start?
    Onelka: I... I... I don't know... no one knows...
Princess Fidelitas: So, if you've been killing one another for so long that no one remembers how it started in the first place? You're just so used to killing each other that it's all you can think of?
Onelka: What?! You just expect me to forget that monster killed my mom?! He's still a monster!
Prince Canticum Lunae Cahaya: And Ah get that, but don't ya think ya should stop 'em BECAUSE he's the bad guy and not just because ya hate 'em personal like?
Princess Fidelitas: And don't you think you should check if this dumb feud was ever really worth it?
  • Battle Couple: Despite being of different races, she and her husband, Tilgen, are deeply in love and protective of each other, which makes them very threatening when they fight together.
  • Big "WHAT?!": She utters this in outrage under the assumption that Rainbow Dash/Fidelitas and Moon Ray/Canticum want her to give up pursuing King Rache. She's wrong — both Rainbow Dash/Fidelitas and Moon Ray/Canticum acknowledge that Rache needs to be stopped and she's the wronged party, they just want her to stop perpetuating the Cycle of Revenge so she can stop Rache for the right reasons.
  • Cycle of Revenge: Her family used to be in one with the kingdom of Kreislauf. She chose to end it after realising they can't even remember who started it/what it was and seeing the futility/folly of continuing it.
  • Dark and Troubled Past: Lost her mother to a Griffon dragonslaying monarch as part of a long and vicious Cycle of Revenge between the dragons and the kingdom.
  • Delightful Dragon: Is a metallic Bronze Dragon and a fundamentally curious individual with a noble character and temperament.
  • Elemental Absorption: As a Bronze Dragon, one of her racial abilities involves absorbing electricity.
  • The High Queen: After becoming Queen of Kreislauf, she became a good ruler, being racially tolerant and open-minded to the possibility of interracial coexistence. Her racial curiosity and inquisitiveness as a Bronze Dragon also makes her willing to learn about other Draconic civilizations like Cobbletown and Angel Vale, as well as wanting to find ways to improve her own kingdom.
  • Our Dragons Are Different: She's a Bronze Dragon, which gives her a bronze-colored appearance and the racial ability to wield electricity magic. She also shares her kind's innate curiosity and inquisitiveness.
  • Revenge Is Not Justice: A huge part of her character development involves realizing that killing King Rache to avenge her mother would only perpetuate the Cycle of Revenge between their respective families, getting more innocent people killed in the process. Once she comes to that realization, she's able to persuade then-Crown Prince Tilgen to perform a Heel–Face Turn, and properly avenges her mother's death by defeating, restraining, and knocking out her killer, ex-King Rache.
  • Scars Are Forever: She has a large scar on her side as a result of King Rache's attempt to kill her.
  • A Shared Suffering: What allowed her to connect with Tilgen was her sympathy towards the potential grief he would feel if she killed his father, as she lost her own mother when the latter was murdered by King Rache. This partially influenced Tilgen's decision to betray his father and help overthrow him.
  • Shock and Awe: As a Bronze Dragon, Onelka has natural command over electricity, and has honed her elemental powers with aid of Avalarian dragon sorcery training.
  • What You Are in the Dark: While tempted to give King Rache his just desserts by killing him with the same sword he killed her mother with after defeating him, she ultimately decides to restrain Rache by bending the blade and tying it around him instead.
  • You Killed My Father: Deconstructed. A huge factor in her grudge against King Rache was her finding he killed her mother and being badly wounded by Rache before she could avenge her mother's death. While Rainbow Dash and Moon Ray/Canticum are sympathetic, they still try to convince her to let go of her grudge as she's just fueling the Cycle of Revenge affecting her family and Rache's family. It's not until she fights Rache's son, then-Prince Tilgen, that she realizes what she's doing and gets Tilgen to come to the same conclusion. This leads to Tilgen betraying his father and them overthrowing King Rache without shedding a single drop of blood.

    Ex-King Rache

  • Avenging the Villain: Invoked. When he is defeated by Onelka and close to Death's door, he orders her to kill him so his son, then-Crown Prince Tilgen, would avenge him. Instead, Onelka chooses to end the Cycle of Revenge by restraining him with the very sword he killed her mother with, and knocks him out with the tip of her tail.
  • Meaningful Name: His name translates to "revenge" in German. He perpetuated the Cycle of Revenge between his family and Onelka's family by murdering the latter's mother to avenge his father. When Onelka later confronted and defeated him, he ordered her to kill him so his son, Tilgen, would avenge him... only for Onelka to end the cycle by restraining and incapacitating him.
  • My God, What Have I Done?: While he killed his brother Crown-Prince Gerecht to get the throne, it was actually an accident which occurred during a violent argument over Gerecht's desire to end the Cycle of Revenge between the dynasty and the local Dragonflight. Rache's actions afterwards was partly an attempt to get over his guilt by rationalisation.
  • A Nazi by Any Other Name: He was a King who bought into bought into the Autorist ideology, and during his reign, he frequently indulged in racial purges and iron-clawed oppression. He is eventually confronted and defeated by Onelka, one of his victims, who chose to end the Cycle of Revenge between their respective families by restraining and incapacitating him.
  • Strike Me Down with All of Your Hatred!: He tries goading Onelka to kill him after he is defeated, wanting his son Tilgen to avenge him just as he himself avenged his father. Though initially tempted, Onelka decides to Take a Third Option by restraining him with his own sword and knocking him out.

    King Korn
The Griffon founder of Kreislauf and its first King.
  • Our Founder: Korn led the griffons to the location they'd build their kingdom on.

    King Zornig

  • Karmic Death: He killed Skriiod's mother in revenge after she killed his own mother. Skriiod would later kill him to avenge his mother's death.
  • You Killed My Father: Deconstructed; he killed Skriiod's mother to avenge the murder of his own mother at her claws, only to die himself when Skriioid killed him in retaliation. This is just one in a series of countless incidents that fueled the Cycle of Revenge between Kreislauf's royal family and the local Dragonflights.
