Spying at death

    Crazy ex-wife

Reason for death

Stalking the client

Details

The client's ex-wife who would stalk him despite the two being divorced. She was killed to give him some peace of mind.
  • Asshole Victim: As an insane stalker who seemed to be escallating with her criminal behavior, it's hard to feel too much sympathy for her untimely demise.
  • Psycho Ex-Girlfriend: She hasn't coped with her divorce in a healthy way, becoming a deranged stalker as a result.
  • Stalker with a Crush: She's this to her ex-husband, something that rightfully terrifies him and leads to him hiring an assassin to stop this for good.
  • Starter Villain: She's the first target of the second game.
  • Would Hit a Girl: The first girl to be shot.

Wet office

    Employee

Reason for death

To secure a promotion for the client

Details

A businessman in Manhattan who was murdered due to the fact he was being considered for a promotion. He was killed in his office.
  • Greed: Why he died. The person who ordered his death wanted a better position and didn't want competition to earn said position, so he got Jake to kill two birds with one bullet.
  • Murder Is the Best Solution: He was killed to ensure that the client got the job without having to worry about him.
  • Removing the Rival: He was a rival to the client, and he paid the ultimate price for it.

Red concrete wall

    Al-Maya terrorists

Reason for death

Trying to assassinate a defecting member and his friends.

Details

A radical terrorist group who were killed while trying to execute several defectors.
  • Asshole Victim: When you're based of al-qaeda, this is absolutely a given.
  • Defector from Decadence: They're on the decadance end of this trope and were in the process of murdering several people who tried to leave their terrorist group.
  • Establishing Character Moment: Their first and last scene shows them ruthlessly executing several helpless captives. It gives a clear indication about what type of guys they are.
  • Eviler than Thou: They're far worse than most targets in the series, due to being actual terrorists.
  • Hate Sink: They're a terrorist group shown murdering helpless people pinned up against a wall and blindfolded. Their deaths are meant to be as satisfying as possible.
  • Just in Time: A very dark example. While they murdered several people due to Jake's gun jamming, they were killed before they could execute their final victim.
  • Karmic Death: They're executed before they can execute their final captive. Bonus points in that they die with a Boom, Headshot! like their victims did.
  • No Historical Figures Were Harmed: They're a clear reference to al-qaeda, a radical Islamic terrorist group responsible for 9/11.
  • Shot at Dawn: They have several defectors lined up against a wall and would have killed them all if they weren't stopped halfway through their murders.

Barking darkness

    Dog

Reason for death

Shitting on his neighbour's lawn

Details

A dog who has been shitting on his neighbour's lawn. He's assassinated after rudely ignoring polite requests not to do that again.
  • Black Comedy: The reason the dog is murdered is too absurd to be truly despicable or horrifying. The neighbour having a futile discussion with the dog before resorting to hiring a hitman is just the cherry on top.
  • Disproportionate Restitution: Jake's awared 6 grand for killing the dog, which is an obscenely large amount to pay someone just to have a dog killed.
  • Disproportionate Retribution: Killing a dog for crapping on someone's lawn is a tad excessive.
  • Insane Troll Logic: On the receiving end of this. Dogs have a very basic understanding of the English language and can usually only understand a few key words, so it's unlikely that it was being malicious when it didn't follow demands the neighbour gave it, due to being a fucking dog and not an actual person.
    • Having the dog killed is also this, as hiring a hitman is a far more serious crime than killing a pet.
  • Kick the Dog: Well, shoot the dog. It's clearly an excessive and cruel act for Jake to commit, though 6 grand probably clouded his moral judgement.
  • Murder Is the Best Solution: Dog being an asshole? Boom, Headshot!.
  • Toilet Humor: There is dog shit everywhere when the dog is killed, so it's clearly not just a neighbour's lawn kind of problem.

Hat off

    Guy in hat

Reason for death

Causing the client problems

Details

A hat wearing fellow killed while at the park.
  • Flat Character: Nothing much is known about him, not even the reason for his murder. All that's known about him is that he is 35 and he wore a stupid hat.
  • Noodle Incident: How he was causing the client problems is a mystery for the ages.

Diggin' with death

Fake ass gangsta bitch and friends

Reason for death

Insulting the wrong guy

Details

A group of people hosting a Lolrolr party in a parking lot where they are murdered.
  • Cool Car: One of them has a lowrider blasting music. Sadly, his death stops him from enjoying it for longer.
  • Disproportionate Retribution: Dissing people is usually not a good justification for having someone murdered unless your ego is more fragile than glass.
  • Funny Background Event: One guy is pissing on a wall.
  • Oh, Crap!: The supposed reaction of the third guy when he walks into the parking lot and sees both his friends shot to death.
  • Toilet Humor: To compliment the shitting dog of the last stage, one guy is pissing on a wall, to fill two sides of the toilet humor trinity.

Operation bluestorm

    Lieutenant Jonsson

Reason for death

Corrupting the US military for decades

Details

A corrupt soldier killed while travelling between embassies.
  • Asshole Victim: He was assassinated for effectively committing treason, so it's hard to mourn his death despite the unethical methods used to achieve it.
  • Didn't See That Coming: He was well prepared for a direct attack from those who sought to do him harm. What he certainly wasn't expecting was an assassin to snipe him while he was travelling between embassies.
  • Hat of Authority: He wears one to emphasise his position in the military. It flies off when a bullet is honorably discharged into his head.
  • Noodle Incident: How he was sabotaging the military, why he was doing such an evil thing, and what tipped the police off to his deeds are questions that are never answered.
  • Rogue Soldier: He's been going against his country for 20 years, using his militaty knowledge to weaken the US military's strength.

Grande finale

    Black heart

Reason for death

Using Child Soldiers for nefarious means

Details

An evil general who killed Jake's parents
  • Asshole Victim: Considering the heinous deeds he's responsible for, his death is more than deserved.
  • Big Bad: Of the first two games.
  • Boom, Headshot!: How he's killed.
  • Child Soldiers: Something he gleefully participates in using, even with unwilling victims. It's the act that convince the police that his death is necessary.
  • Cruel and Unusual Death: A completely earned one. His car is shot, he crashes into a sign, and crawls out, with his mangled body bleeding out as he crawls through the burning sand, finally being executed with a Boom, Headshot!.
  • Evil Has a Bad Sense of Humor: He finds it hilarious that a young boy is traumatized over the brutal execution of his parents.
  • Eviler than Thou: He makes Jake look like a saint. And Jake's a fucking murderer.
  • Fallen Hero: He used to be a soldier in the US army before turning evil. He was very successful up until his sudden disappearance. It's clear there's no good left in him when he returns.
  • Final Boss: Of the second game.
  • From Camouflage to Criminal: Once he was an honorable soldier. Now, he's a terrorist leader who uses young boys as his weapons.
  • "Get Back Here!" Boss: He's fought as he's trying to drive to safety, with the vital shot being at his armored vehicle's back wheel.
  • Harmful to Minors: He murdered Jake's parents right in front of him when he was just a young boy.
  • Hate Sink: Calling him a loathsome bastard is an absolute understatement.
  • Hat of Authority: He wears one, just like Jonsson. Only, this guy has illegal authority and is a hundred times worse.
  • It's Personal: Jake is more than happy to kill him due to the fact he murdered his parents.
  • Last Disrespects: He mocks Jake's dead father in his final moments, something that doesn't endear him to the already furious Jake.
  • Names to Run Away from Really Fast: Black heart doesn't sound warm and cuddly. And this guy worked hard as hell to earn such a title.
  • Oh, Crap!: He freaks out when Jake kills his bodyguard and makes a quick retreat in his armored car.
  • Sadist: He laughs hysterically as Jake cries in anguish over his dead parents.
  • Screw This, I'm Outta Here: He'd rather do this than fight Jake, showing what a Dirty Coward he is.
  • Sociopathic Soldier: He's a sadistic monster and a former soldier who runs a terrorist group in the present day. Check, and check.
  • Would Hurt a Child: Child Soldiers are his favorite weapon, with all the horrific implications that come with such an act.
  • You Killed My Father: He killed Jake's father. And also his mother. These are reasons why It's Personal for him.
