Talking to death

    Journalist

Reason for death

Knowing too much about the client

Details

A journalist who was shot while on the phone to his daughter. The very first target in the series!
  • Flat Character: So insignificant that brief details about him are only given after he's already been killed.
  • He Knows Too Much: He was killed for this reason, courtesy of Jake and his unscrupulous client.
  • Kick the Dog: An instant example Jake isn't a good guy. He did nothing wrong (that we know of,) and was a family man to boot.
  • No Name Given: Simply referred to as a 55 year old.
  • Surprisingly Sudden Death: He was murdered by Jake while on the phone to his daughter.

Red notebook

    Journalist 2

Reason for death

Knowing too much about the client

Details

A journalist who was killed while leaving a nightclub after talking to his friend. He had a red book on him possibly detailing his investigation into some shady characters at the time of his death.
  • All for Nothing: Possibly for the client. He was killed to stop him from snooping in the client's business yet the red notebook found at the crime scene potentially had details about the client and his shady dealings, meaning that he could very well become a Karma Houdini Warranty anyway.
  • He Knows Too Much: Like the last target, this was the reason he was assassinated.
  • Hope Spot: A Dramatic Irony example. He was killed right before he could board a taxi and potentially escape his murder. However, he was blissfully unaware of his doom up until it happened, not realising he had an opportunity to avoid it.
  • Intrepid Reporter: What he was and why he died. If the red book he had on him was accurate, it may have given him the last laugh.
  • Unusually Uninteresting Sight: Due to technical limitations, nobody outside the nightclub gives a shit about his gruesome murder.

Playing dead

    Morgan Andersson

Reason for death

Leaking information about the client's operations

Details

A former CIA agent and actor killed while performing in a play.
  • Ambiguously Evil: It's unknown if he was a corrupt or dilligent officer, as the morality of his actions depends on those of the client. Though, considering the client hired Jake to assassinate Morgan, it's likely the client was in the wrong.
  • Fatal Method Acting: In-Universe example. He's murdered in an apparent accident while performing.
  • Make It Look Like an Accident: He's crushed to death with a prop, giving this impression to the audience. While it doesn't look immediately suspicious, the yells from them sure don't sound like cheering.
  • Truth in Television: Acting skills are highly beneficial for CIA agents, as taking on a role can help them navigate through their field of work and endear themselves to otherwise uncooperative individuals. A retired agent taking on a role as an actor isn't as much of a stretch as it would seem.

Dangerous dealing

    Dealers

Reason for death

Whatever they were dealing in their briefcase.

Details

Two dealers killed during a transaction.
  • Ambiguously Evil: What was inside the briefcase isn't known and while it's likely they were committing some sort of crime, to what extent they were breaking the law is never answered.
  • Oh, Crap!: If one of them is shot, the other will start to flee. Too bad they can't outrun a sniper rifle.

Lonely thoughts

    Neighbour

Reason for death

Spying on the client's wife

Details

A pervert who was killed while camping due to spying on the client's wife. He was allegedly a rapist.
  • All Men Are Perverts: Well, this guy sure as hell is. That's why he's killed.
  • Asshole Victim: The first confirmed criminal in the series.
  • Disproportionate Retribution: While he was committing a rather disgusting crime, he probably didn't deserve to die, and the neighbour suspecting he might be a rapist seems based more on hyperbole than reality.
  • Horrible Camping Trip: He was murdered while on one, so this certainly counts.
  • The Peeping Tom: He was doing this with his neighbour's wife as the victim of his voyeurism.
  • Unreliable Narrator: Him being a rapist is probably hyperbole, though in the world of clear vision, it's not entirely out of the realm of normalacy.

...

    High ranked officer

Reason for death

Unknown.

Details

A high ranked officer someone was eager to have killed.
  • Cliffhanger: Jake was stopped before he could fire the killing blow.
  • Final Boss: The last enemy Jake is tasked with killing, though he's stopped before he can fire the killing shot.
  • Good Smoking, Evil Smoking: He's smoking a cigarette and is presumably quite an evil man who may or may not be the same guy that murdered Jake's parents.
  • Sole Survivor: The only person in the first game to survive Jake's assassination attempts.
