Rebecca "Becky" Prim
Voiced by: Karl Hadrika
The main character.
- Action Girl: Becky is completely unafraid of fighting back and defending Ello, or getting physically aggressive to make a point.
- Anti-Hero: Becky is nowhere near as bad as Jesse, but has her own slew of issues. She's an aggressive, easily provoked, and visibly unstable girl whose biggest motivation is getting a comfortable place to sit and smoke.
- Came Back Strong: Becky before death is a grumpy girl with an awful temper and Skewed Priorities. After death, she's a grumpy girl with an awful temper and Skewed Priorities that can possess people and transport the souls of humans to alternate dimensions to torment them.
- Deadpan Snarker: Before and after death, she has a sarcastic, no nonsense personality.Norville: (Sees Becky as a ghost) Becky! Is that you?!
Becky: (sarcastically) No, it's the goddamned Tooth Fairy. - Dissonant Serenity: More like dissonant annoyance, as Becky is unfazed by being killed. Her attitude before and after death is largely the same.
- Fiery Redhead: Becky has auburn hair and a temper to match.
- Hair-Trigger Temper: The entire plot of the pilot centers around her getting revenge on a few girls who sat on her favorite bench.
- Hartman Hips: Becky has a "fat sit" which earns her some extra mockery from Jessica. She later uses her rear to assist in the girl's mental torture.
- Hiding Behind Your Bangs: Becky's hair covers one eye. When the eye underneath is revealed, it sends Jesse and her posse into an alternate dimension.
- Horrifying the Horror: The one thing that manages to freak Becky out is when she finds Norville's Stalker Shrine to her.
- Jerk with a Heart of Gold: While "heart of gold" is pushing it, Becky stands up for Ello when Jesse is picking on her for her weight, and she clearly cares a lot for her best friend. Also, unlike Jesse, Becky never attacks people who presumably did nothing to her first, as she only targets Norville because he was indirectly responsible for her death, and Jesse for stealing her bench for literally no reason.
- Must Have Nicotine: Becky is clearly addicted to smoking cigarettes, as she mentions wearing a nicotine patch in middle school.
- Our Ghosts Are Different: Becky dies and goes to purgatory (or "Purg"), a desolate void with a variety of dead spirits. She becomes a restless spirit with the goal of getting revenge on Jesse, and is capable of both possessing another person and dragging Jesse and her friends into purgatory and forcing them to experience a horrific vision.
- Perpetual Frowner: Becky never smiles, even when she gets what she wants. This is in sharp contrast to Jesse.
- Psycho Knife Nut: She was moments away from carving Jesse up for daring to sit on her bench.Jesse: -and besides, I don't see your name on it.
Becky: It's carved in the back, like you are if you don't make like a tree, and GET THE FUCK OFF MY BENCH! - Tank-Top Tomboy: Wore one and she doesn't seem to be very feminine.
Ello
Voiced by: Shan Wu
Becky's best friend.
- Fat Best Friend: Downplayed and deconstructed. Ello is chubby, but the only one who points it out is the Alpha Bitch Jesse, whose bullying of her for it is portrayed as a bad thing.
- Morality Chain: She seems to prevent Becky from doing anything particularly stupid or violent, as she slaps Becky's hand when the latter pulls out a knife on Jesse. Notably, when she no longer intervenes, Becky drags Jesse's Flock into a purgatorial torture dimension, although, in her defense, the situation was crazy as it was.
- Nice Girl: Ello is unequivocally the kindest person in the pilot; she doesn't even bother insulting Jesse after being bullied by her, and unlike Becky, never insults Norville.
- Only Sane Man: Ello is probably the only character to be a slightly panicked witness to the mad actions of the rest of the cast. She smacks the knife out of Becky's hand before things get violent, and seems to be quite nerdy like Norville, but not to the same delusional degree.
- Red Oni, Blue Oni: The calm, kind blue to Becky's aggressive, grumpy red.
- Sweet Tooth: Ello has a bag full of butterscotch candies on hand that she eats.
Jessica "Jesse" Kimbley
Voiced by: Karl Hadrika
A popular girl who is at the top of the school's hierarchy.
- Accidental Misnaming: Jesse never gets Becky's name right, calling her somiliar "B" names, like Bessy, Betty, and even Bessandra. It's more of a testament to how much of a an asshole she is than any stupidity on her part. She only gets her name right after being tortured in Becky's pocket dimension.
- Alpha Bitch: A parody. She has all of the cliché traits of one (conventionally pretty, leader of a Girl Posse, is presumably a popular girl), except she is clearly mentally disturbed, Ax-Crazy, and says some rather unnervingly violent stuff.
- Astonishingly Appropriate Appearance / Animal Motifs: Jesse resembles a wasp, which is a joke in two ways: She's clearly a wealthy, Anglo-Saxon (religious affiliation may be up for debate) and she is an extremely aggressive bully with violent tendencies.
- Ax-Crazy: She once tore someone's eyelashes just because they refused to give her a stick of gum. Her smiling all the time, going long periods of time without blinking, and having an unstable mind helps.
- Femme Fatalons: She uses her retractable sharp nails to cut through a caution tape and sit on Becky's bench.
- Noodle People: Jesse is an extremely thin girl. She even lampshades this when she is turned into a bench and wonders what happened to her 2-inch waist.
- Perpetual Smiler: She always has a smile on her face. This is both Played for Laughs and for light horror, since she smiles even when she's angry. She even smiles as Becky drops dead in front of her. However, she will stop smiling if she's genuinely shocked or if something manages to frighten her, as her smile drops when she sees Becky is back from the dead.
- Stepford Smiler: She's the Unstable variant. Her perpetual smiling holds very thinly veiled hostility and madness.Jesse: (still smiling with clenched teeth) And just who in the jolly sh*t do you think you are, you horse's ass?! You think you can fill my seat with your social disease?!
- Thousand-Yard Stare: She is prone to going long periods of time without blinking and simply staring at whoever she's targeting.
- Uncanny Valley Girl: Definitely. Jesse is a stereotypical popular girl with a morbid way of carrying herself that hints that something is off with her. When criticized by Becky, she stares blankly at her with glossy eyes. Later, when she sees Ello and Becky (in Norville's body), she hisses at Ello. There's also the fact that Becky's Mind Rape affected her friends, but Jesse manages to walk it off (although she was clearly annoyed). As if to emphasize this, her eyelashes resemble devil horns.
Norville
Voiced by: Karl Hadrika
A nerdy boy at school, who indirectly causes Becky's death.
- Abhorrent Admirer: Is this for Becky.
- All Men Are Perverts: He's the only prominent male character out of the four we focus on, and much of his characterization is his lust for Becky. Hell, after she dies and haunts him as a ghost, he's still trying to hit on her.
- Cloudcuckoolander: He delusionally stalks Becky and seems completely disconnected from reality. His idea of trying to impress Becky is by showing off his "pet bee" (which is just a bee tied to a string).Norville: This is how a Tyrannosaurus would drink his chocolate milk! (grabs his carton with his mouth and proceeds to spill it on himself).
- Geek Physique: He's a scrawny nerd with short arms.
- Goofy Buckteeth: His buck teeth only add to his nerdy appearance.
- Gonk: Out of all the characters, he's probably the least attractive and has the ugliest expressions.
- Long Neck: His abnormally long neck makes him rather grotesque to look at.
- Nerds Are Pervs: He has several photos of Becky in his closet and lusts after her even when she is about to possess him as a spirit.
- Nightmare Fetishist: He's a bit too happy when Becky shows up in his room as a ghost and demands to possess his body. He even cites a specific instance in Ghostbusters where something similar happens, describing the ghost from that scene as a "spiritual vixen".
- Stalker with a Crush: Towards Becky, complete with a Stalker Shrine.
