Awesome Music / Hypnospace Outlaw

Go To

There's a lot of original music in Hypnospace Outlaw; some of it's Stylistic Suck, but others are either aim for, and hit, Narm Charm, or just plain legitimately awesome.

  • Fre3zer's "Colder than the Rest" blends advertising jingles and Christmas music into a catchy, intricately layered, Vaporwave-esque soundscape. It believably inspired a cult of in-universe imitators.
  • Basidia's "Ghost of the Grotto" sounds chill on the surface, but seethes with the artist's Tranquil Fury at being screwed over by a former collaborator.
  • "Ready to Shave", by Chowder Man. At once a parody and stellar example of Progressive Rock, combining seven minutes of epic soundscape with the most anodyne of topics and Chowder Man's Awesome Ego.
  • Seepage's "Nothing Left For Me" is a scarily accurate Affectionate Parody of Nu Metal, particularly Linkin Park. Both fans and detractors of said genre can agree it's genuinely well-made. Their other track, "Against the Wall", is more reminiscent of Slipknot, but just as good.
  • All of the tracks by Barnaby's Chair / Barnaby are well-done examples of indie folk rock, with their standout being "Satellite Orchestra", a surprisingly serene Break-Up Song. The rearranged version, "Satellite Electrica", gives it a pop-punk makeover while remaining just as catchy.
  • Slushmouth's "Castles in Limbo" plays on re3koning_inc's Leaky Piping page, and it fits perfectly with the feeling of digging out the truth behind Merchantsoft.
  • Dylan Merchant's Ice Cream and Booze is a very catchy, groovy little hip-hop track that manages to wring a lot of darkness and atmosphere out of some simplistic MIDIs. It's no wonder Tim used it for his page.
  • Everything by Glamocaster is great, mostly because they're actual pre-existing songs (made by Meat Goats on bandcamp) run through a fuzz-boosting filter.
  • RedStryke's PUSH, an awesome, uplifting hip-hop- er, flip-flop jam that sounds like a "Best Of" mashup of 90s and early 2000s hip-hop and RNB summer anthems. It's a good pick-me-up after wallowing in the nostalgia of the 90s. Remember Me is another no-less-beautiful track that involves some truly delicious vocals and flow; anyone who enjoys rap, especially positive rap, will find their hearts touched by this track.
