Captain Marvel and the Carol Corps is a 2015 Marvel Comics limited series written by Kelly Sue Deconnick and Kelly Thompson, with art by David López.

The series is part of the Secret Wars (2015) event, set at a time when reality has been remade and the only remaining planet is Battleworld, a patchwork of different realms held together by the will of Doctor Doom.

This comic replaced the standard comic of Captain Marvel during the crossover.

Captain Marvel and the Carol Corps provides examples of:

  • Ace Pilot: All the members of the Banshee Squadron.
  • Amazon Brigade: The Banshee Squadron is composed only of women.
  • Ambiguous Ending: At the end of Captain Marvel and the Carol Corps, we don't know if the women found anything outside of Battleworld, or if they all just died.
  • Bolivian Army Ending: Captain Marvel and the Carol Corps ends with Captain Marvel and the ladies of Banshee Squadron flying off into the unknown void outside of Battleworld. Carol is unsure if there's anything out there or if they'll simply all die as soon as they leave the planet, but the women all decide that not knowing is an even worse fate. We don't know what happens, but the final panel shows Carol's eyes reacting in shock as she sees what's beyond the clouds.
  • Destructive Savior: The Thor Corps always leave devastation in their wake.
  • Egocentric Team Naming: It's clear that Captain Marvel is the central character of this group, right?
  • A Glitch in the Matrix
    • Kit-Thor mentioned that Doom forged her hammer from a star in the sky. Carol even has a star as a symbol. But how could this be, if there are no stars in the sky of Battleworld? Where does the light of the day come from, and where does it go in the night?
    • Rogue Ultrons... on a boat? Something does not feel right.
  • The Heretic: Science is blasphemy! Light comes from the grace of Doom! To even think otherwise is a Thought Crime!
  • Laser-Guided Amnesia: The story behind Captain Marvel and the Carol Corps has the titular heroine struck with a bit of amnesia and has to figure out how she ended up in Hala Field.
  • Military Superhero: Carol Danvers is one of those anyway, but more so here: she's a Flying Brick superhero alongside an air force unit, the Banshee Squadron.
  • The Unreveal: Captain Marvel and the Carol Corps ends this way. We get to see Carol's face in reaction to what she sees after breaching the atmosphere, but not the view in front of her.
