Not all is as it seems.
SMLWiki.com is a webseries/project created by lainsweb based on the SuperMarioLogan series that features a more twisted, violent version of the series formatted as if it was a wiki site. Various documentations of the show on the so-called "wiki" shows that that not everything within the "show" is as what it seems.

This "wiki" contains the following tropes:

  • Adaptational Jerkass: While not as insane or as disturbing as many of the other cast, Brooklyn T. Guy (now known as simply "Donowrong Guy" among various other randomized names), is stated to have stolen and hurt many of his friends, despite his "average joe" personality in the original series. Though, given many of the supposed "editors" are not entirely sane, it's unknown how much of it is really true.
  • Adaptational Abomination: While the SML cast in real life are just ordinary humans, in Sml Wiki, about most of the cast members were turned into rather disturbing creatures for the sake of horror.
  • Apocalypse How: As of the current update, it's revealed exactly what happened to Earth, at least in-universe: a god named Aetheon caused the Earth to become "imbalanced", and caused the Earth to become what it is now.
  • And I Must Scream: Many of the SML characters are either horribly mangled to a concerning degree or infected by something that causes them to warp into disturbing versions of themselves. Though, as the "wiki" states, many of them are left alive despite this, which has... concerning implications.
  • Big Damn Heroes: Jeffy manages to undo all of the events which occurred and also the Day of Imbalance, restoring things back to normal.
  • Body Horror: About 80% of the characters have this happening to them.
  • Crapsaccharine World: The current state of the SML series, as despite the videos having a bright, bouncy presentation, the situation is much more dire, with cloning, the puppets coming to life, and the creators either being horribly mutilated or dead.
  • Clone Degeneration: Many of the characters within the series' videos are often more flawed copies of the originals, with them either spouting nonsense or having deformities present.
  • Death by Adaptation: Marvin, at least one version of him, is seen dying at the end of "Marvin's New Dance", cracking open his head to reveal actual blood and a realistic human eye where his puppet ones should be. His twitching corpse is also seen on the front page, acting as the selection option for characters.
  • Eldritch Abomination: Lance. From the mentions of being a "shapeshifting nocturnal diety" to having "spontaneous visits" that even interrupts the main page for their character bio, whatever Lance is, he is no longer human.
  • Even Evil Has Standards: While the wiki itself is somewhat malicious, showcasing odd or disturbing events in the SML series, even they despise the content produced by the current SML (at least, in-universe), calling it a "shitfest" and the "worst SML movie". Considering everything else on the site the wiki shows off, that says a lot.
  • Gainax Ending: While the entire series up to "Misery" (or "Youtube Something You Know Whatever" in the YouTube upload) had more horrifying content and visuals indicating something related to the cast dying and the puppets being alive in some manner, the titular "Misery"... is an action-focused YouTube Poop ending the series as a metaphor for SML's decline in quality. Considering the project itself was the last one made by lains before their announcement of leaving YouTube, it's an odd note to end on, to say the least.
    • Subverted with the actual endings, as they both show what really happened.
  • Grand Finale: Meta-example as well as in-universe. The project is the last one made by lains before the announcement of them leaving YouTube for good, which makes the entire thing all the more surprising. In-universe, "Misery" acts as this, ending with... well, not exactly a ''normal'' ending.
  • Hostile Show Takeover: What seems to be happening with the SML series as a whole, with various creatures invading both the show and changing it as a whole into a lower-quality, nonsensical mess.
  • I Am a Humanitarian: One mention of Martin's page mentions the person editing it that they would eat them before thousands of people after picking apart his brain.
  • Joke Character: The pages of the Golden Nugget, Zack, and Dr. Finkleshitz aren't really taken seriously much and serve no purpose other than to provide a bit of Mood Whiplash from all the horror.
  • Jumpscare: Thrice. One while viewing Pablo's page, a flashing image of Jesus Christ appears with a loud screeching sound, causing the viewer to be redirected to the main page. Another is during the "house" game, when caught by Silhouette after reading the note. Another is during Shrek's video, where a jumpscare, like Pablo's causes you to be redirected to the main page.
  • Mood Whiplash: The section of the site that shows off "Misery" is... not exactly horrifying compared to everything else, showing a "Super Luigi Logan Wiki" instead of the normal logo, the banner being taken from the infamous photo of Luigi's pants, as well as having the background being a gif from Jurassic Park (specifically when Malcom states a piece of dinosaur feces is "one big pile of shit"). The non-SMLWiki videos by Mario Cartoons are also this, being more nonsensical and somehow even weirder than the ones featured on the website.
    • Many of the character bios and events are also a lot less serious, though more explainable due to the questionable mental state of the editors.
  • Not Quite Dead: Despite a couple of pages implying that he’s Killed Off for Real, it turns out that Jeffy is actually still alive, and unlike the rest of the characters, isn’t corrupted.
  • Nothing Is Scarier: Many of the fates of each respective characters in the series are unknown, leaving it up in the air as to what exactly happened to them.
  • Reset Button Ending: Jeffy destroys a device containing some type of brain (which is implied to also be another cause for everything that happened), which leads to the undoing of every event and causes the world and SML to go back to its normal, uncorrupted self.
  • Take That!: The series itself appears to be a metaphor for the current state of SML, as stated in "Misery", specifically the formulaic content and deterioration to more childlike content, though with a more horrifying twist.
  • Vagueness Is Coming: From what can be gathered on the project, the characters seem to have been affected by some sort of "incident", though what exactly the incident entails are never touched on directly and only vague hints about it are shown. Though, given what has been shown, it's probably best we don't find out.
  • Walking Spoiler:
    • Aetheon counts as one due to them being responsible for how and why things are messed up the way they are.
    • Jeffy manages to be even more of one than Aetheon, due to access to his page being locked behind a secret computer and being the cause of the good ending and also reverting things back to normal.
