This chapter is Pravda-centric and begins with Nonna getting annoyed with Katyush playing with her hair while riding on her shoulders.
Nonna tries to clean Katyusha's ears by laying her head in her lap, but Nonna's breasts get in the way, and she has to lay Katyusha's head on top of them.
Katyusha gives up her seat on a bus to an elderly woman, who thanks her and praises her mother for raising her well. Much to Katyusha's annoyance, Nonna accepts the praise.
Katyusha and Nonna notice that the new students are smaller than Katyusha when she's on Nonna's shouldes, with Nonna saying that it's because few people are talle than her. A new student, who's a Huge Schoolgirl and something of a Gonk, towers over the two while bowing to them. Katyusha hastily stands up on Nonna's shoulders to reassert her height advantage, but Nonna points out that the newcomer is too large to fit in a tank.
Katyusha and Nonna visit a park, and in spite of Katyusha complaining about it as childish every step of the way, they stay until night and Katyusha ends up dirty.
As Nonna fills a tub with water, Katyusha takes her by surprise by spraying her with cold water. Nonna, filled with Tranquil Fury, demands an apology and Katyusha complies; it can be interesting to see what kind of people can bring arrogant and short-tempered people like Katyusha to heel. Katyusha squirts Nonna with water a few times, including by pretending to pass out mid-sentence, and the two get out, exhausted. Rumors circulate about the two, with Nina getting in on them, and the rumors make their way to St. Gloriana.
The non-4koma part begins with Katyusha finding Nonna's Katyusha Diary, only to be found by Nonna herself before she can examine it. Katyusha sprints off to her afternoon nap, but dreaming of Nonna crouching over her as she sleeps, she wakes up, white with terror.
Nonna notices that Katyusha is not well-rested, but Katyusha believes that Nonna is acting as usual. Katyusha almost falls from Nonna's shoulders, and, while trying to steady herself, rams her fingers into Nonna's eyes. It isn't as bad as it sounds, but Nonna is doubled over in pain, and Katyusha seems honestly worried about her, albeit patly out of fear that the Katyusha Diary contains every indignity Katyusha inflicted on Katyusha and plotting to "purge" her.
Nonna, however, reassures Katyusha that she'll merely need eye drops from the nurse's office, and is bemused when Katyusha enters a Pose of Supplication to plead for her life as Nonna leaves. Nonna, however, says she doesn't mind, and enjoys being around Katyusha.
Katyusha, touched, thinks back to when they first met, when Katyusha was dismissively mocked by some of her classmates despite trying to bring a proposal to the commander. Nonna, however, lifts Katyusha on her shoulders so she will no longer be deemed little.
Katyusha, confident in her bond with Nonna, is certain that the Katyusha diary before her, out of Nonna's apparent sight, does not contain bad things about her. She's right... the diary is blank. Nonna reassures her that it's just a notebook, and Katyusha's irritated that it has "such a puzzling name," not aware that, behind Nonna's back is the real Katyusha Diary, sealed with a lock and chain.
All in all, this was significantly better than the first chapte. MLLSD seems to work best when it focuses on the non-Oarai cast, who didn't get enough exposure in the series. It nicely expanded on Katyusha and Nonna's characters, while also being quite funny and heartwarming at times.
