* KnowNothingKnowItAll: One of the few ways of throwing him off is... by not knowing enough or knowing wrong facts about the character you're thinking of. Sometimes not even ''that'' is not enough to fool him.

* OhCrap: If Akinator asks a very specific question, it (usually) means he knows the answer. [[SubvertedTrope However, there are times where he actually doesn't know, but nonetheless was very sure that he had it; see Mood Swinger above.]]

* YouGottaHaveBlueHair: If you try to make him guess an anime character, you're likely to get a chain of questions like "Does your character have blue hair? Does your character have green hair? Does your character have purple hair? [[OverlyLongGag Does your character have pink hair? Does your character have...]]"

I got "Does your character play in Charmed" three times!

* ArtificialStupidity: Akinator doesn't take into account the similarities between questions, so you may be asked the same question with different wording multiple times, or you may be asked contradictory questions (such as about a character's age, hair color, clothing...). His face also reflects poorly on how close he actually is to the answer, sometimes suddenly getting the "close to the answer" look and asking something utterly irrelevant.

* MoodSwinger: Akinator can switch from raging mad (usually after a string of "no"s) to smugly satisfied with a single question (if you answer yes after said string).
** He can also become confused if you give him an answer he did not expect, ''especially'' if he was very sure that he knew who it was.

* ArtificialStupidity: Akinator cannot recognize identical/opposite questions, so sometimes he asks you for your character's gender two or three times. It can be FridgeBrilliance at times--some characters, particularly {{AFGNCAAP}}s, can be both female and male, or neither, or crossdressing or anything else you can imagine. Of course, he'll ask if they have black hair and then ask if they have blond hair, plus the always entertaining "asks if they're from one universe, is told yes, guesses a different universe". This is likely the only program to think ''Franchise/MassEffect'' and ''Franchise/{{Halo}}'' are the same universe. And sometimes it will ask you if you've met/said hello to the character ''after'' you've confirmed it's a fictional character or dead historical figure. Apparently it believes you might be ''Literature/ThursdayNext'' or a time traveler. It can also ask a question, be told "no", and then guess a character with exactly the trait you said yours didn't have - such as guessing Gompers the goat after you say your character isn't a goat. The inverse of it guessing a character without a trait you said yours has is also possible, such as guessing Bucky the squirrel after you say your character is a raccoon. And both can happen within the same game.

If you visit Akinator's website from a mobile OS or are playing the game from an Akinator mobile app, there is a limit on how many characters you can play before all but the most popular characters get flagged as "VIP characters" that you must unlock by paying real money. No such restrictions apply if you are playing Akinator from a desktop PC.

Purely subjective. Some users may enjoy knowing something obscure, see it as a challenge or even like enriching Akinator with more information. No need for personal opinion

* PyrrhicVictory: If it's easy for you to beat Akinator, it generally means that the stuff you like -- or the stuff you've created -- hasn't made a significant impression on the rest of the world. * BatDeduction: Sometimes appears to exhibit this, in cases where he asks a lot of seemingly (but not genuinely) pointless questions and then jumps to the correct answer. One reason he might do this is that he's actually already figured out your character, and is using the extra questions to learn more about them.
