* [[JustForFun/TheZerothLawOfTropeExamples Shakespeare example]]: Orlando’s StylisticSuck poetry for Rosalind in ''Theatre/AsYouLikeIt''. His rhymes with Rosalind's name alternately demand that the last syllable be pronounced with a long and a short "i." [[DeadpanSnarker Touchstone]] declares that he could come up with rhymes of the same caliber for "eight years" if necessary and proceeds to provide examples off the top of his head until Rosalind shuts him up.

* ''Series/BetterCallSaul'':
Jimmy sings the "99 Bottles of Beer" song but about cash money. He sings "take one dollar, pass it a..." before realizing there is no suitable word that rhymes with 'dollar'. After pausing for a bit, he finishes with "yollar".

* In ''WebVideo/OutsideXbox's'' Oxventure series, at one point the [[SmallNameBigEgo egotistical idiot]] Corazón de Ballena writes a BraggingThemeTune about himself, which includes an attempt to make the word "horizon" rhyme with his first name.

* [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hb-H6gIJk4c ''I'm your best friend'']] - a song from the ''Machinima/RedVsBlue'' soundtrack - is an {{inver|tedTrope}}sion of this trope if there ever was one. It contains barely any rhymes, even when there is an obvious way to introduce them. Instead of "friend - end" or "game - same" you get "friend - the part when it's over" and "game - the identical way". It's obviously PlayedForLaughs and perfectly fits a [[TheDitz certain]] [[{{Cloudcuckoolander}} character]] in the show.

* The 1997 TV version of ''Theatre/CinderellaRodgersAndHammerstein'' (starring Music/{{Brandy}} and Music/WhitneyHouston) both featured and lampshaded this trope. When the Fairy Godmother (Houston) first appears, she sings in rhyme, and recites, "Fol-de-rol and fiddle-dee-dee, fiddley-faddley-foodle / All the dreamers in the world are...dizzy in the noodle!" Cinderella (Brandy) replies "That's horrible." The Fairy Godmother, thinking she's talking about the rhyming, defends herself, saying that it's difficult to come up with a spur-of-the-moment couplet. Cinderella was actually referring to the sentiment.

* WebVideo/TheNostalgiaCritic once berated a commercial for the Wuzzles, complaining that "roo" has to be one of the easiest words to rhyme, and to prove it, he sings, "I got a Wuzzle/I'm gonna snuggle/So much he can do..." After that, he {{lampshade|Hanging}}s this...

* In the "mix up the scripts" episode, the Warners have trouble finding a relevant rhyme for "brain"...

* The ''Franchise/StarWars'' game for {{UsefulNotes/Kinect}} features parodies of many popular dance songs, one of which is a recruitment song for the Empire based on "[[Music/VillagePeople YMCA]]". "It's fun to stay at the Y-M-C-A!" becomes "It's great to be in the Em-pire to-day!" The song includes the line "Vader [beat] can't do it by himself, and he's second [beat] to the Emperor himself!". Mind you, the corresponding line in the original song is "No man [beat] does it all by himself, I said young man! [beat] Put your pride on the shelf!", which isn't a total cheat, but is still contrived since we'd usually say "swallow your pride".

* ''Film/TheLionTheWitchAndTheWardrobe'': Mr Beaver recites the [[PropheciesRhymeAllTheTime prophecy]] "When Adam's flesh and Adam's ''bone'' sits at Cair Paravel in ''throne'', the evil times will be over and ''done''". Susan points out that that doesn't really rhyme, which Mr Beaver concedes but says she's [[ComicallyMissingThePoint missing the point]]. (The poem was present in the original book, but as an eye rhyme it works better in print.

* ''Theatre/ThePhantomOfTheOpera'' at least has the decency to [[LampshadeHanging lampshade]] the grammatical assassination in this line from "Notes". Even if it had been correct, it's still RhymingWithItself.

* ''Film/TheLionTheWitchAndTheWardrobe'': Mr Beaver recites the [[PropheciesRhymeAllTheTime prophecy]] "When Adam's flesh and Adam's ''bone'' sits at Cair Paravel in ''throne'', the evil times will be over and ''done''". Susan points out that that doesn't really rhyme, which Mr Beaver concedes but says she's [[ComicallyMissingThePoint missing the point]]. (The poem was present in the original book, but as an eye rhyme it works better in print.)
* ''Film/WillyWonkaAndTheChocolateFactory'': As in [[Literature/CharlieAndTheChocolateFactory the book]], the Oompa-Loompas sing a song each time one of the children is eliminated from the tour, except that here they use lots of nonsense words just for the sake of rhyming. For example, they begin each song with "Oompa-Loompa doopity-doo, I've got a perfect puzzle for you!" (switching "a perfect" to "another" in all songs after the first). Although Creator/RoaldDahl wrote some of the first drafts of the script, he ended up hating the film. The way he put so much time and effort into producing proper rhymes in his verse, only for them to cheat in the adaptation, may have been a contributing factor.

* This line from ''True Love's Kiss'' in ''Film/{{Enchanted}}''. It's likely the movie {{lampshad|eHanging}}ing [[NoSexAllowed there's never more than a kiss]] in Disney movies, but my ''word'' is it clunky.

* The ''WesternAnimation/VeggieTales'' video ''King George and the Ducky'' has King George sing a rant that rhymes "longer," "stronger," and "wronger." King George's page tries to remind him to [[YouMakeMeSic say "more wrong," instead]]. The king insists, "[[ScrewTheRulesIMakeThem It had to rhyme! Don't question a king's grammar!]]"
