* The ''VideoGame/Unreal'' series has always featured a rocket launcher that can send off several rockets at once, whether focused at one point or scattered in a horizontal line for maximum area-of-effect. In ''VideoGame/{{Unreal|I}}'' and ''VideoGame/UnrealTournament'', said launcher could store up to ''six''; later games pulled it down to three. Invariably, keep the crosshairs on your target for more than one second and you'll have a MissileLockOn.

* Spells from ''Franchise/LyricalNanoha'', such as Axel Shooter and Plasma Lancer, invokes this image, only using balls or blades of energy. A straighter example can also be found in the [[MechaMooks Type-2 Gadget Drones]] of the third season, which launches salvos of small missiles as one of its attacks.
** In ''Nanoha'', if any character (particularly shown: Fate and Chrono) using an attack with "... Shift", you can expect massive missile rain.
** We thought Fate had reached the epitome of this with Photon Lancer, Phalanx Shift. Then Reinforce turned it against her: Photon Lancer, ''Genocide'' Shift.
** Reinforce (the original Reinforce, mind you) also used [[FlechetteStorm a similar move called Bloody Dagger]]. It probably can be used by Hayate, too.

* In ''Manga/NegimaMagisterNegiMagi'', the ''Sagitta Magica'' spell is a common attack spell that launches anywhere from one to a hundred and ninety-three homing elemental blasts at a target, making it a '''4'''M(Macross ''[[ProjectileSpell Magic]]'' [[ProjectileSpell Missile]] Massacre). [[RidiculouslyHumanRobots Chachamaru]] did this at the end of the first anime adaptation using a pactio power.
** In the recent manga chapters, Negi uses 1,001(!) Sagitta Magica("Sagitta Magica-Series Lucis!") on Fate. Fate comments that even though the spell Negi used was a basic attack spell, he's developed it so much that it was no different from a large scale war magic.
*** It's likely he can fire even more than that, in fact; considering the level Negi has reached by the end of the manga, he may be able to fire tens of thousands, were he to go all-out in a single spell. [[spoiler:Now multiply that by however strong the enemy is if Negi used tactics similar to those he fought Jack Rakan with.]]

* In ''VideoGame/PillarsOfEternity'' Minoletta was an expert at this as most of her spells involve a barrage of magic missiles. This culminates in ''Videogame/PillarsOfEternityIIDeadfire'' where her final spell, appropriately called Minoletta's Missile Salvo, is a magical M3 (M4?) concentrated in a small area.

* ''VideoGame/Rage2'': The rocket launcher can be upgraded to lock onto every enemy on the screen before firing rockets at each of them.

* The Dark Magician class in ''VideoGame/{{Rappelz}}'' gets a spell called "Darkness Arrow" that is more accurately described as a Macross Missile Massacre of shadow-element magic.

* ''VideoGame/TurboOverkill'': The {{Cyborg}} protagonist Johnny Turbo gets a cybernetic left arm that fires out barrages of these combined with FlippingTheBird to add insult to injury.

* Surprisingly, this is OlderThanSteam: The historical Korean [[http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hwacha hwacha]] -- which can be best described as a SchizoTech Katyusha -- also functioned in much the same way, a 15-16th century saturation artillery piece capable of firing up to 100 steel-tipped rockets or 200 singijeon (effectively fire arrows). * ''WesternAnimation/DespicableMe'' does this... a lot. The most notable -- and probably the only real example that truly fits this trope -- is when Gru, in his plane is pursuing Vector in his own plane to reclaim the ShrinkRay the latter just stole from the former. He attempts to attack Vector by firing a ''lot'' of missiles that are released from platfroms on the plane's sides ''[[BiggerOnTheInside that take up way more space than the plane itself]]''. Vector, however, responds by releasing flares to avoid being hit by any of the missiles, and then used the aforementioned shrink ray to reduce Gru's plane into the size of a children's ride-in car.

** This was explained in later flufftext in that Age of War-era missile systems (the ubiquitous long- and short-range missiles of the game) didn't have warheads so much as ''explosive structure'', which also justifies the ammunition explosion rules. The evolution of ''[=BattleTech=]'' flufftext also described that the MMM-only launchers came about because electronic countermeasures were just too good for individual missiles to penetrate: for the same mass, a single hard-hitting missile would almost inevitably be jammed, spoofed, blinded, or otherwise overcome but a salvo had a pretty good chance of enough making it through to have an impact. Though with the new Thunderbolt-series missiles making a comeback in BT as big, nasty, single-hit missiles, the pendulum may be swinging more back towards the middle as well.

A HighSpeedMissileDodge is usually an effective counter. A slightly more proactive solution is to launch your own missiles or, if you have the option of MoreDakka, shooting them down. Trying to [[MisguidedMissile lead them away and crashing into an enemy]] is usually reserved for {{Ace Pilot}}s. Can often be rendered into a WorfBarrage. Missiles may engage in {{Roboteching}} (which should not be confused with MacrossMissileMassacre, even though ''Macross'' is part of ''Robotech'').

Missiles may engage in {{Roboteching}} (which should not be confused with MacrossMissileMassacre, Macross Missile Massacre, even though ''Macross'' is part of ''Robotech'').

* ''VideoGame/GalaxyAngel'': The Happy Trigger's special weapon, Strike Burst, unleashes the vessel's entire payload on a single victim. In the following games, if the target is destroyed, any remaining phalanx/missile shots will seek out and hit nearby enemies, resulting in obscene damage to enemy ships in large radius around it.
