I cannot for the life of me understand how anyone could enjoy this K-Drama.
This is the story of a young girl who must live with an intelligent but icy young man from school that she likes. He's mean, cold, and pretentious. The girl protagonist is clumsy, dumb, and her only redeeming qualities are her kindness and perseverance. Aww. Sounds just like ''Twilight. And we know how good that book is, right? Except at least Bella was smart enough to take enter AP Biology. This girl is academically and commonly unintelligent in every way, and her redeeming qualities sadly do not make up for it.
What follows, then, is an awkward and forced courtship orchestrated by this girl and the boy's mother on an unwilling participant. Seriously, the boy seems very uninterested in this courtship from the beginning. And the worst part is that the protagonist is so dumb and clumsy, it's over done.
By the way, the love interest is played by Kim Hyun Joong. I love him as much as the next girl, but his reprisal of this type-cast role in Boys Over Flowers was bad here. His acting was cold and stilted and emotionless, but I had no sympathy for him here. In Boys Over Flowers at least he was supposed to be somewhere on the autism scale and seemed distant, but here he has no such excuse. A real shame.
Series Unbearable in Every Way

The good guy in this show was the protagonist's friend who is hardworking, independent and loyal. The kiss of death! True to K-Drama form, the good guy does not get the girl of course. This is apparent from the beginning of the show, for sure. But there was no discernible reason for her to choose the mean emotionally abusive boy over him except that he was attractive and academically superior. Otherwise, he was a jerk for the majority of the show. I tire of this cliché, which is rampant in K-Drama, unfortunately.
I did not believe for a second the romance between those two, and could not finish the series.
