The author, by way of applied creative liberty in the form of a 'Shovel Guy' decides to go about rewriting the Naruto storyline.
It's in some ways a fix-fic, just without that much fixing, and a lot more cool.
The story is divided into 'Books', of which one is already complete.
Book 1 follows Zabuza and Haku who survive their encounter with Team 7, and then go on to finally realize Zabuza's ambition to free his village. It ends with a pretty sweet fight.
Book 2 is just as good, though still in progress.
Style is on point, as is characterization. Special props to the way Sasuke is kept in Konoha without mellowing out in any significant way.
Basically, a horibly under-appreciated fanfic that in my honest opinion, deserves more exposure.
