This has to be one of the best romantic and sci-fi fics I've ever read.
The movie was listed as one of the reasons we have the "Most Writers Are Human" trope, a cute love story between two completely different robots. And, when you portray them as actual humans, the story actually gets more powerful in its characterization. Wally, Eve, Auto (Otto in the edited) have their traits and flaws explored to a complete new level. It also helps that the writing is superb for a fanfic, dare I say it lacks nothing for an actually published novel.
