While the New Super Mario Bros. series has its charm, I think this game surpasses them in pretty much every way. From the creative level design to the stylized animations, it presents a fresh take on an old formula.
The Wonder Flowers (its main new feature) are an interesting gimmick. Even after seeing the effects more than once, it's always fun to see what kind of wacky changes the plant will bring to the levels.
All-in-all, this seems like an inventive step in Mario's journey through the years, and I can't wait to see what the future holds.
