Beautifully Written

The author has an incredibly beautiful writing style that manages to be descriptive without slowing down the overall flow of the story. They've not only done their research into India and Indian culture, but they've managed to weave it effortlessly into the story at the same time. The worldbuilding for the magical side of India doesn't just rely on the 'muggle' version of Indian mythology, the author adds their own creative and unique ideas to flesh out the world even further.

Remus is wonderfully well written and receives far more characterisation than he does in canon. The focus on Remus' talent with magical creatures is a lovely one and helps flesh out his role in the overall story. There are some interesting theories about how being a werewolf both helps and hinders him, along with Remus' own thoughts about his role in the magical world and his similarities to the creatures that he works with. Remus' relationship with Sirius is touched upon in such a light and delicate way that it fits neatly into the narrative, not the focus of the story but certainly an important part of it.

The overall mystery is cleverly written and while the conclusion might not be surprising it's also an incredible journey getting there.
