I like musicals. I accept that many classic musicals have issues when viewed through modern eyes (looking at you, Guys and Dolls). But it usually takes a little longer than this. After Elliot Rodger and similar incel murderers, it's hard to laugh at a musical about a nerdy guy blaming an outgoing jock for not getting the girl and committing violence based on that belief. Many of the songs are fun and well-done, but they aren't enough to make up for the cringe-inducing plot.
