Normally, I avoid lesbian fiction

because having lesbians in it is, in my experience, often a way to critique-proof plain bad writing.

Not in this case. The story unfolds slowly, focusing on the psychologically plausible characters, with no pretense to Holier Than Thou and no Word Salad Philosophy. Nice, subtle worldbuilding - Foyle lives in a very rich world, but the richness is never shoveled into our heads. Instead, it forms the inhabitants lives and personal issues.

The shift into Fairy Tale feels natural and well foreshadowed.

The soft, watercolour-ish art style suits this quiet narrative quite well. There's a bit of a problem with site navigation - sometimes the "next" button doesn't work.

But in general - if you like fairy-tale-ish exploration of possible worlds, give it a try.
