Powerful, Contradictory (Maybe), Fascinating

Davey hypothesizes that you can get to know creators through their creations alone. He takes you on a guided tour of the creations of Coda, a reclusive game developer with a quirky style, in hopes that we can learn something about him.

Now, right here, I almost wrote a ton of different things but decided against them all because it’s virtually impossible to describe this game without spoiling much of it. For example, I can't explain why I found the game to be powerful, possibly contradictory, and fascinating.

Instead, I'll just say the following things:

  • The Beginner’s Guide says some interesting things about the relationships between creators, their works, and their audiences.
  • I finished the game in about 90 minutes, but I've played it again and plan to play it a third time.
  • I Played it first about a week ago. I've spent the entire time since thinking about it, writing about it, reading others' thoughts on it, listening to podcasts on it, etc.

I really hope you'll enjoy this game. Short, but really good and you'll think about it a lot afterwards.
