Love it and hate it.

First got this game when it cam out on the PS3. Got to level 3 and THAT GODDAMN EGG BALANCING MINIGAME before giving up on it.

Currently have it on the Vita. Haven't gotten to the hated section just yet.

I love the Sly Cooper games, and I like the story (such as I have seen of it) but the necessity of forcing the egg balancing minigame soured me on the experience because of the utterly utterly unnecessary requirement of the sixaxis, a piece of technology whose inventor needs to be slowly and painfully tortured to death, which games of that era and genre seem intent on forcing on you at random (I recall similar, more forgiving instances in Ratchet and Clank games for example) for no reason other than to have it in there.

Because of the need to use the sixaxis feature if you can't muster the dexterity and patience to keep that egg from flying off the log .000000000000000001 femtoseconds after the mini-game starts then guess what? You won't be continuing on with the game!

This is a partial review because I doubt I will ever actually finish the game. Someone using stolen time travel technology is plundering the past with a Quirky Miniboss Squad that is the standard for the series. They've also, for some mysterious reason, been collecting Cooper canes.

I loved El Jefe. He's serious and calm, contrast to the easily excitable and just plain Axe Crazy Toothpick.

I wasn't crazy about Rioichi. He was a bit too stereotypical and generically-wise-kung-fu-master-y for my tastes. Loved Tennessee though. To my mind he had more personality than Rioichi.

Bob and The Grizz I don't have much to say about for obvious reasons.

Gotta wonder what Clockwerk was doing all during all of this. You can see him in each of the time periods (even the Ice Age?!?!?!?), but he's just sort of watching the Coopers. Stewing in his own hate I guess. I'd be very interested in stories of other Coopers that encountered him.

Overall, probably a decent addition to the Sly Cooper series. I'm sure I wouldn't know. From what I saw 7/10

Oh, come on! The egg-balancing game is NOT that hard! I'm amazed that you managed to get past the sixaxis hacking minigames if you're this stupendously bad at using it.

Don't blame the game for your own incompetence.
