I kind of disagree with the first review. The ending is bittersweet, but happy enough for me. However, yeah, the fic is pretty damn sad overall. Expect the father/son relationship to be gradual as hell, unlike in most stories like it, when Snape is suddenly a normal person when he finds out Harry was abused by the Dursleys.
If I had to find a flaw, it's that the story barely made use of its secondary characters after a while, so Severus, Harry and Lucius had to carry the whole story, which can get tiring after 45 chapters. Still, you gotta read this.
