I'm leaving a few lines here as I've been told to "repair, don't respond" to a fellow troper's misunderstanding. I assume that the story has changed over the years and it's kind of like playing telephone. I think the correct tropes are Multiple Demographic Appeal and Mohs Scale of Science Fiction Hardness. I have put a percent sign accordingly. Can anyone find the source of the Grace Lee Whitney remark? Thank you.

  • Girl-Show Ghetto: It was initially seen as dumb sci-fi show for girls (and yaoi fangirls, who saved the show for a third season and were rewarded by making some fic official), and looked down on by “serious” sci-fi fans. Grace Lee Whitney mentioned how she thought Spock and Kirk would never catch on, only being thought of at first as “weird” and “eye candy” respectively.

Does anyone remember the name of the episode where the group comes across a planet where no one dies and no children are born? The society turned out to be a bit Wizard of Oz-ish, and Kirk broke the Prime Directive
