This is the sort of thing you should bring up on the forums, not an article's discussion page.
"There's been a lot of hype thus far, more so than there is for movies like Venom and Silver & Black." Isn't that a bit of wishful thinking? Silver & Black may still be a project in the works, but Venom is an upcoming film and there are countless pages talking about it. Many more than about this film. Animation age guetto or not, Venom is a live-action film, and that gives it an edge in the hype factor.
Ultimate Secret Wars Hide / Show RepliesI think the difference here is positive vs. negative hype. In my neck of the Internet woods, fans (even MCU diehards) have been uniformly excited for Into The Spider Verse, whereas Venom and BC/SS are viewed more derisively. There's also the fact that Venom is coming out next week whereas ITSV isn't coming out until December, so yeah there's naturally going to be more talk about the latter than the former.
I was disappointed that Mary Jane(1610) didn't play that big a role in the film. At the very least, I was REALLY looking forward to a scene where she meets Peter B. Parker, and the two engage in a heartfelt conversation. Peter B. Parker does his best to console MJ over the loss of her Peter, and MJ encourages Peter B. Parker to make up with his MJ. Does anyone else feel the same, or is it just me?
