This bit:

Tear Jerker: Given that it comes from actual character base (like his Scooby-Doo rant and the many times his childhood has come up), Critic being a Woobie, Destroyer of Worlds in episode two is genuinely sad. Especially when he mentions a nerve going off when he thinks of “childhood”.

That seems a bit overstating it, and the show does nothing really to make it all seem sad. Tonally, it's wacky, not depressing. I don't think this should really be on the page.

Eh it's YMMV and my thought was it's coming from issues set up already and was Black Comedy sad, but I'll take it off.
