Base-Breaking Character: While Stargirl is a generally well liked Legacy Character, there are some detractors who dislike her being based on Geoff Johns' dead sister and the fact that her stepbrother was generally overlooked by their dad in favor of her during the 2000s.
Poor writing aside, it comes off as an unfocused single person rant about the character and doesn’t really reflect any popular sentiment about the character. I fully believe Stargirl has detractors, given she’s more-or-less the mascot of the team, but this entry doesn’t really do a good job illustrating two points of view about the character.
There was a similar entry also put in Broken Base which I removed due to trope misuse (as BBC is for when a Broken Base exists for a character so there’s no reason to include both).
Also, on another point, there’s a Broken Base entry regarding Alan’s coming out in the 2020s, claiming people are upset about it because the fact previous writers depicted Alan as slightly homophobic/uncomfortable with his gay son’s sexuality. I’ve not seen anything like that anywhere in the fandom, and Alan’s previous homophobia was a disliked aspect of his character.
