I think it's a valid discussion to have, but what you've written is ridiculously long and subjective. Recapping the events of Chapter 2 and 3 in detail just bloat the page and make it sound like your own personal essay about the game. I think you should take the whole example out and replace it with a more generic discussion of "this is a game where there are actual murders, but people fixate their hatred on someone who just insults people even though she doesn't kill anyone". And all the extra information in brackets is just flat-out unnecessary.
Even the discussion of "people cheer when fictional characters are murdered even though in real life that would be a horrifying thing" I'm not sure is such a valid point, it misses the point that you don't have to apply real-world morals to your gut feelings about a piece of fiction.
The *Legendary* Super Saiyan is motivated by a crying infant! He is a literal giant f***ing baby!Does anyone else feel like Mahiru (and maybe Akane) should be under Base-Breaking Character instead of Scrappy? They definitely have detractors, but they also have a fair amount of fans.... at least as many as Kazuichi.
Edited by PenBFDII have a problem with the Never Live it Down. Basically, the problem is that the official material, voice actor and creator have said that Komaeda is more than just obsessed with hope and is constantly pointed out how much of an honest person he is.
The problem is that not once does any material deny that Komaeda has feelings for Hinata. in fact its confirmed. I was hoping the person would reword the statement because it makes it seem like his love for Hinata along with his obsession with hope is the only part of his character and is denied in canon when one is canon.
"Hate Dumb: After Project Zetsubou announced that they were cancelling their translation once the official localization was announced, some people started whining that they couldn't pirate the game anymore and had to legally buy the game."
Technically, that's not entirely Hate Dumb. There are some people who can't afford buying a Vita, so some of those complains actually make sense.
I have an idea, I've noticed that Danganronpa 2 doesn't have a Misaimed Fandom entry, I feel like Hiyoko's death would be a perfect place to start in terms of this trope, while its understandable to be happy about the death of a character you dislike(god knows I was when Teruteru died) I think it's different to legitimately argue that Hiyoko's behaviour warranted her brutal murder.
Kodaka went out of his way to show that while Hiyoko was flawed and not a nice person ultimately her death was unjustified and senseless and that at least Hajime, Sonia and Fuyuhiko missed her. Mikan getting her revenge would be Mikan calling Hiyoko a trashy skank back, rather than brutally murdering her for an unrelated reason. Lines like "Mikan got her justice" just ignore the fact that there was zero justice in Mikan's actions or that Mikan saved Hiyoko's life in Danganronpa 3 and would be utterly horrified by her fanbase arguing that she was in the right. It also ignores that Hiyoko was trying to change and that she died in her attempts to honour Mahiru, unlike more popular Asshole Victims such as Miu or Celestia, Hiyoko's death occurred because she wasn't a bad person, yet this point is often ignored because it contradicts the idea it was revenge or that Hiyoko was pure evil.
In general, I think Misaimed Fandom applies to any "they deserved to die", with every single non-mastermind death with the exception of Korekiyo and Mukuro(and even they had tragic elements), Kodaka goes out of his way to show that character flaws and actions taken because of the game doesn't mean they deserve to die an untimely and unfair death. It would be good to have both Take That Scrappy and Misaimed Fandom to balance each other out.
Would it be okay if I add Misaimed Fandom to the tropes list? Not just for Hiyoko's death but Teruteru's, Mahiru's and Nagito's deaths too. As these four tend to face the "they deserved it" point the most, it would be good to explore this example of Misaimed Fandom not just in 2 but 1 and v3 too.
