I think it's important to find out this kind of thing before adding the trope to a YMMV-page.
Is there any other troper who considers stealthy units (by this I mean units with abilities such as ambush and nightstalk) a source of JumpScares, and would you like giving a suggestion for how to put that?
It does not matter how old your post is, if I find it, I will reply. Hide / Show RepliesWell, I certainly have been surprised by units popping out of nowhere (usually Shadows/Nightgaunts), and I think you worded it pretty well. However, I'd like to suggest adding mention of scenarios like Crossroads in Heir to the Throne and The Drowned Plains in The Eastern Invasion, where you get ambushed by units that can't normally hide.
I like cute things. You gotta deal with it.'pologies for the late reply, but this has now been done. (Also added some trivia that had to do with some of the add-ons I've been trying recently. Let's just say that I loved A Rough Life so much that I couldn't find any good tropes for it right now.)
I don't agree with listing dwarves as a Game-Breaker due to their many serious weaknesses. For one thing, most dwarven units have low defence in terrains other than mountains and caves. They have no access to fire, cold or arcane damage at all, leaving them with fewer means to exploit enemy vulnerabilities - in particular, they have no good ways to damage Ghost-line units. They have no healers, and unlike the undead and orcs, they don't even get a recruitable poisoning unit to compensate (while the Knalgan Alliance gets Thieves, they only get poison at level 3). They don't have recruitable units with magical or marksman attacks either (again, while the Knalgan Alliance has Poachers, they only get marksmanship at level 3 and only if they become Huntsmen), making them bad at dislodging hard-to-hit units.
