No, because Spared by the Adaptation is definitely about characters that die in the source but survive in the adaptation. No matter how Hypatia died in the movie, she still died.
Let's just say and leave it at that.
According to certain records, Hypatia was pulled off her chariot, dragged through the streets and then flayed with the edges of seashells (to make the punishement for her "ungodliness" a much more painful one). Wouldn't the movie's depiction of her demise be a case of "Spared By The Adaptation" trope?
