There's one thing I've noticed to be extremely prevalent in this but I don't know what if any trope relates to it: whenever it involves a woman and her boyfriend/husband, at first the man will invariably doubt the supernatural events while the woman believes, and often he won't seem to care. I can't count the number of episodes where the woman went on about how "he wasn't there for me/us when he should have been". On some episodes, you see the man give his side and talk about the frustration of being unable to do something, but you also have several where the man's just gone.
