For the Paris and golden apple entry, while the apple is always thrown at the wedding feast, in many, many versions, Paris is approached to judge afterwards, anywhere from immediately after to long enough afterwards the goddesses have pissed off the other inhabitants of Olympus in their arguments over the flipping apple. So giving it to the bride, and probably the other goddesses wasn't an option.

There is another What the Idiot moment there. Zeus was king of the gods. One myth has him punish Hera severely for pissing him off, either by confronting him over his affairs or trying to dethrone him. (To the ancient Greeks, it might have amounted to the same thing.) He strung her up in the heavens for an unknown time after that. He was not a person to piss off, as Prometheus could testify. Yet... he dumped the judgement on Paris because he was too much of a coward to tick off two of the three of the goddesses.

On a side note, Jezebel could use a entry for being a terrible politician. All through history, the smart queen consort (as opposed to those who ruled in their own right) was the one who realized she had to be as savvy as her husband -if not more- at politics and government sneakiness. Jezebel was all about the power of being queen, and that's hard to pull off when you're only reigning due to who you're married to, especially in a foreign land.
