I think the Pragmatic Adaptation section should be removed since this isn't really an adaptation of the IDW comics. It does use a couple of elements the IDW comics introduced but that's standard for transformers. The actual storyline is completely different and most of the characters act very differently as well.

It uses quite a few elements from the comics. I felt the trope was appropriate because it cut down much of the expanded world building stuff from the original because this series is smaller in scope.

And besides, the IDW series isn't a 1-1 adaptation of the G1 Cartoon, but we've used a number of Adaptational tropes for it, even this series we've utilized other adaptational tropes besides Pragmatic Adaptation, should we remove those as well?

The other Adaptation tropes fit better because they're more focused on specific characters or elements.

The setting is slightly similar but that's not unique to this series. The actual plot is entirely different though and almost all the characters have different roles and personalities.

I would have thought that it would need a vaguely similar plot to count as a pragmatic adaptation, very few of the changes are pragmatic in nature anyway.

The setting is a lot more than slightly similar though. Cybertron and Caminus coming together to make a government, and conflicts escalating because of Combiners (Menasor in particular) is unique only to IDW.

I just thought it fit Pragmatic Adaptation more because the unnecessary excesses to the story not covered by the story itself (fates of characters, how the peace came about, etc.) are excised. The story itself is too difficult to follow unless one's read the backstory though, which is a shame.

Also, did you delete Spared by the Adaptation for similar reasons? I'm assuming so because the reasoning makes sense with what you're saying about it not being an adaptation.

Transformers Cybertron had Cybertronian colony planets that joined up with Cybertron again. Some of those colony planets showed up again in Transformers Exiles or the IDW comics (Velocitron and Beast Planet). And of course several series have used the more generic setting of the G1 cartoon.

Saying it's a pragmatic adaptation and listing the deviations in setting and history from the IDW comics suggests that the rest of the history is the same between the two when there's no evidence for that.

And again, the plots are nothing alike and getting more dissimilar by the episode. It would be like saying that the G1 cartoon is an adaptation of the Marvel comics because they have similar settings and characters, when really they are very distinct.

Yeah, I deleted spared by the adaptation for the same reason.
